cuz chlorine is more reactive than iodine and displaces it from its compound

@@anushkaverma9506 As The Halogens Go down Group 7 The Depth of their colour changes(i.e becomes darker) but their physical state varies. The Color Of Chlorine Gas is Green , Iodine is a black-grey solide Potassium chloride is a white salt. Group 7 elements when reacted with the alkali metals(Group 1 metals) they form white ionic solid salts.
