  • Here is a little video comparison of Medela's Top 3 double electric pumps. Both are fantastic pumps, but in this video I show why all three sound like when they are on, the difference in the flanges, and how to operate them.
    If you have any questions, please comment down below.
    link to my blog for a full pro's and cons list of the 3 pumps is AsekyBonnaire.com

    This is the BEST review I’ve seen - THANK YOU! I used the Medela PISA in 2015 and I’ve searched high and low for a review that compares all three of these pumps in one video ahead of making a decision for my next baby due 1/1/20.

    Thanks for the comparison. I exclusively pumped for 10 months with my first, and now 6 months pregnant with #2, so I'm debating what new pump to get. I had 2 PISAs the first time, but one died, so now I'm trying to decide to get another PISA (so I can interchange all my spare parts), or get one of the other two. By the time I go back to work, I'll be as only 3-4 pumps per day, at 45-60 minutes each. Should I take the old PISA to work (1 or 2 pumps per day), and keep the new, more mobile one at home (2 BIG pumps per day); or take the new lighter, quieter one to work and keep my PISA plugged in at my "pumping station" at home? Sorry for the long comment, thanks for any input!

    Hi, about to get a pump through my insurance and I’m wondering which of these had the strongest suck? Which my daughter I used Ameda purely yours but I feel like the suck wasn’t that strong. My nipples are pretty pain resistant after pumping with her every 3 hours for 9 months so I’m just looking for something really strong. Thanks 🙂

    Thank you so much! It's very useful! I was looking for a video comparing Medela Sonata and Pump In Style. I will go to Asia and give birth there and come back to the US. It seems Sonata is much quieter and I can use it on the plane without charging it. But according to the website, Pump in style is good for traveling. What do you think? Is sonata lighter?

  • @skyemmons8575

    Does the Sonata work as great or better then the pisa? I have the pisa on loan and thinking about getting the sonata when I purchase my own pump but I don’t want to waste my money cause the Pisa works great but I’d like the never model and get the sonata

    What’s the suction like on the freestyle compared to the PISA? I have the PISA and the Symphony but looking to get the Freestyle so I’m wondering if I could get a suction as high as the PISA at least.
    Thank you so much for the review.

    • @TheBonnaireFamily
      @TheBonnaireFamily  5 лет назад +3

      The suction on the PISA is good! Medela makes some amazing pumps and I’ve tried other brands (including Ameda) and Medela is still my fave! The Freestyle does have a better suction in my opinion!

      Batool Summer Siddiqui hi! I actually happened to just recently read on medela’s website, that the sonata is not compatible with the storage bags (in terms of pumping straight into them, that is) hope this helps :)

  • @swimcuddlebunny

    Can you plug the freestyle tubing into the sonata and than use the flanges from the freestyle? I'm only asking because I don't care for the sonata flange setup. So was wondering if I could kinda hack it so I wouldn't have to buy a whole new pump system just for a little hiccup

      VidaGreen hey! Thank you for watching my video! I love the Sonata. I use to 2 times a week when I work. And I also use the Freestyle about twice a week at home. I favor both of them over the pump in style. My personal favorite is the Freestyle.

    My insurance provides the Pump-In-Style Advance Starter Kit but I was thinking of upgrading to the Sonata. Is there a huge difference to where you feel it's worth it for me to pay the difference in cost? I will be a working mom so I will be pumping several times a day.

    • @TheBonnaireFamily
      @TheBonnaireFamily  7 лет назад +1

      I would 100% get the Sonata if you're able to! Its a better pump!If you read my comments above, you'll see the difference in how much I pumped too, between the pump in style advance and the sonata!

    Yes! Thank you for this review. Decisions....now. So did you get a similar result for the freestyle and sonata in terms of milk flow? I love the convenience of the freestyle but am afraid I won't get as much "milk"....

  • @jordanchristensen8312

    So helpful. I have the PISA. I have special shields so I want to keep Medela. However I need to have something quiet or portable for class. Would you suggest the sonata or the freestyle? Since I have the other kit I mostly need the pump and new attachment accessories. (Currently pregnant with B/G twins, I have 2 boys 7 and almost 5, but also in nursing school and a full time worker. So I would love your advice.
    Heck maybe even both. But I can't afford to do both right now.

    Thank you for the review. I plan on purchasing the pump instyle advanced. I am a frequent pumper, I pump at least 5+ times a day. So I need something that will be quick and long lasting. What do you really think of the pump in style? Is it worth it? Also, I didnt quite understand.. so the pump in style can be operated with batteries aswell not plugged in? Thank youu

    • @TheBonnaireFamily
      @TheBonnaireFamily  7 лет назад +3

      Hey!! first off, Thank you so much for watching my video! The Pump in style is a great pump, jus not my favorite. To me its worth it, especially since you pump 5 times a day, so you need something reliable. The pump in style is made to be plugged in to an outlet, but if you wish to have it portable, you'd just have to purchase a separate battery pack. The battery pack is sold online and at buybuy baby for like $20 I believe and it takes 8 AA batteries. I got to use the pump like 10 times in the battery pack before I had to replace the batteries, but I'm sure rechargeable batteries would've been more ideal. Overall its a great pump!!

    What did you notice in your supply with each of these pumps? Which one gave you the most milk in a pumping session?

    • @TheBonnaireFamily
      @TheBonnaireFamily  7 лет назад +1

      Hey Mel T. I noticed I got about about 1/1-1oz more with the freestyle than the Sonata. And on an average night of pumping (I work 12 hour night shifts) I pump about 18-20 oz with the Sonata and The Freestyle, and with the Pump In Style, I'd only get about 14-16oz!

    • @TheBonnaireFamily
      @TheBonnaireFamily  7 лет назад

      +Riza Tumbagahan I just saw your 2nd comment! That actually has happened to me with the Sonata, and I lost about 1/2 oz of milk. But it was my own fault. I didn't properly let the meme brands dry from when I wiped it down with the Medela wipes, so when I used it again, it was stuck, therefor not letting the milk flow down. But haven't happened again 👍🏽

    Thanks for the overview of the three pumps, as an expectant first-timer, I would have appreciated your opinion on favorite, easiest, etc etc, as I need a pump, but won't be purchasing all three. Appreciated the side by side comparison of all three immensely, however.

    I received the sonata through insurance and I haven't opened yet. I am wondering if I should send it back and get the freestyle because I really like the idea of mobility. Do you think one is easier to use for a first time mother / pumper? I am working from home / teaching yoga, so I don't sit at a desk and pump daily. Any advice would be helpful.

      Hi -- I used the freestyle with my first born and I absolutely loved it. I work full time and exclusively pumped successfully with the freestyle for almost 10 months so it definitely does its job. The only reason I am looking into the sonata this time is because I struggled with production the entire time -- I barely made enough to feed her and had to supplement the first two months before I had enough to freeze an extra 3-6 oz a day. I am hoping that the sonata will help since I hear its comparable to the hospital grade one. I am also excited about the app feature because I used a pumping app that I had to add everything manually. Hope this helps.....Good luck!

    • @TheBonnaireFamily
      @TheBonnaireFamily  5 лет назад +2

      Hey! So I should say that I got the same amount of milk if not more from my freestyle vs the Sonata! I honestly LOVED the section on the freestyle and it’s still my go-to pump now with my 4th baby! (When I filmed this I was using it for my 3rd baby)
