Probably worth pointing out the date window placement is because ISO standards now call for fully lumed plots so moving to 4:30 is to allow a fully lumed plot at 3 o’clock. This is the sleeper hit of the year imo from Seiko.
This is a really great release from Seiko. I'm excited to get to an AD and try them on. I already think highly of the SPB14x line just from trying one on at an AD, and am contemplating the SPB297. I thought I would like the Willard X more than I did. That is not a knock on the Willard. It's just not for me. The newer MM200 didn't quite do it for me on wrist either, though they look gorgeous. This looks like a potentially good compromise between the 2, as mentioned. The slightly lower price compared to the previous mentioned lines makes this an even cooler release. I am particularly drawn to the white dial, but they are all nice in their own way. This is the first hands-on video look I've seen on these, so thanks for posting. I may sell my King Turtle and another diver to justify purchasing one of the 6R35 Prospex divers.
Just tried them from my nearby AD and the feeling I had was "OK, this feels right". Like you, I wasn't sure about the 62mas, Willard and mm200 but somehow this one seems like the one to go for on the long run.
The size of the date an then the placement, what a miss. It would be a perfect watch. I love those long minute markers, those hands an all the rest is a true beauty✨spb151 Willard date window would be the perfect match
Did you say NINE hundred dollars? Man it's a lovely watch but that just sounds like too much for a Seiko. I'm more used to the prices of the older Fives models like the Urchin and also the SKX which were much cheaper and in my opinion very good watches. I'd much rather spend nine hundred dollars on a Longines probably than on a Seiko although I am a fan of the brand but just not so much as before with these new prices. I do love your review it's very nice and I enjoyed it. Thank you for sharing.
The original 6105-8000 on rubber was around $75 in the late 1960's. That's approx $650 in today's dollar. Overpriced but not terribly so. Too bad about that big ugly "X" on the dial.
You can get the bracelet versions for 800ish on Sakura watches. That hopefully means you can get the rubber black version for around 700-750 - that's not bad.
I'm sorry but Seiko's pricing for the Prospex line recently has been absolutely absurd, how can they justify selling this at more than double the price of the King Turtle..
This watch does not wear smaller than 62mas or willard. I had a chance to try it on the wrist and it looked like subpar watch to the aformentioned two. The lugs are to long, makes it look like a "H" shape on the wrist. It is not that pronounced on picture but in reality very apparent. The case finishing is simplistic and looks bland on very stark case design.
Good to see Freddy take a break from the Mystery Machine to check out some Seikos
Lol!!!! I’m dying
Underrated comment.
zoinks

Picked up the spb313 as a travel diver and couldn’t be happier with it
You still have it and enjoy it? Wondering if it’s a keeper
I have the original 6105-8000, such a great watch, really love it.

Very nice review. I have a recently bought SPB239J1 that I absolutely adore and I’m going to pick up a SPB313 next week! I love these watches ❤
Really like the look of these, temped to pick one up in Japan once they open up.
I dig it. I'm really liking this one. Makes a hard trio between this, the 53mas and willard imo. Love them all
Nice TGN kerchief!
Very nice looking
The dials; are they "flat" in color?
Fabolous review!
Thank you!
Are the lume plots different colors between 317 and 313?
Isn't it high time they give a higher beat movement at this price range
Hello there. Will you be restocking on the SPB317 and SPB315
I bought all three for USD 2200 at a dealer. Asia is a great place to get this cheap.
These don't show up on the seiko USA website yet. 🤔
One of the better looking Seiko watches-which are often cluttered.
You have incorrectly assigned the reference numbers: on the left SPB 317, in the middle 315, on the right 313.
You mentioned it’s more wearable than the standard Willard. Could you share the dimensions?
SPB317 - 41 diameter, 46.9 L2L, 12.3 thick
Willard - 42.6 diameter, 46.5 L2L, 13mm thick
@@trafficconstellation8913 thank you!!!
I want to know what model keyboard you have 🤓

Whats the lug width (strap size) ?
Please let there be a gmt version of this

There’s always that guy!! 🤣🤣

nice
Why no mention of the steel clasp??
That new clasp on the rubber strap looks so cheap
1000 dollar watch with an “innacurate” movement...damnit seiko. I do like the look of that white dial one
Rubber is the way to go here
It is still very cheeky to offer a watch with inaccurate accuracy for about $1100. For this price, you have to set the time every 3 days!
When I saw this, I thought: "Wow! Finally a NO DATE automatic diver from Seiko! I am buying. A glance later...FFFUUUUUUU*&()%$!!!!!!"
I'm sorry but Seiko's pricing for the Prospex line recently has been absolutely absurd, how can they justify selling this at more than double the price of the King Turtle..
It’s five times the watch as the king turtle. I’ve had both. Don’t get me wrong, king turtle is nice but not the same ball park
1100 USD ? What are they smoking at Seiko?
On the bracelet they can be found under $850 including tax and shipping
Never worry about the MSRP for Seiko. They always come down. Don't people know that by now?
Dollar bills apparently
I got a good discount. Nothing compares to it in this price range. Forget the videos, go see and try them on

Great watch bar that hole punch date on the dial. That looks terrible
They need to make a pepsi
Another Seiko diver that looks the same as all rest of the Seiko divers. No imagination and too expensive.
$1100 for an "not an accurate movement" !!! LOL. Can't wait for the next "quartz crisis" aka Digital Watches to reset the price curve.
