I also got the M23 in Dark Oak, 21L, I've had it about a week now and absolutely love it. The only thing that would make it even better would be, like you suggested, outside access to the lid pocket. Really wish I could justify getting another M23 in another color or fabric or size!
Yes! Outside access would just make it that much better. I know how you feel, I want all the M23s (minus the 500D spearhead shrapnel), but I’ve gotta stop buying them!

The 26L GR1 is my bag of choice. I have a 1000D/210D and a Slate Heritage. I had the Robic M23 21L &26L. I returned the 26L, and sold the 21L when I bought the Heritage GR1. I tried the waxed canvas M23 in 21L and 26L. I thought the waxed canvas 26L fit better than the Robic version. However, I thought the Robic packed better because the materail had more give. All three colors look fantastic. I liked the black better, but it shows every piece of dust. I currently have the 500D 21L, but I don't think I'm keeping it. Because of cost, I only want one waxed canvas bag. I've debated selling my Slate GR1, but it looks so cool!
How’s the 500D for the M23? Better than the ROBIC? I’m debating on picking that up in the 21L. I’ve got a 500D GR2 and love the material, but then on my 15L bullet, not as much.
@@Pack_roam I didn't like 500D at first, but it's growing on me. I didn't mind the Robic because it was easy to wipe off. I don't know if it's any different than the Bullet, but it feels different. Maybe because of the lining of the M23. I like the price of the 500D M23 more than the Robic price.
I just wish the straps weren’t sewn like directly into the backpack. I wish they had like a 1 inch of webbing in between the padded strap and the attachment point of the backpack, so it would be a lot easier to move it out of the way and get in and out of the laptop pocket.
That’s probably my biggest gripe with their bags. While it’s a relatively minor thing, having to move the straps out of the way to get at the laptop compartment is annoying.

I’m loving my M23 26l in dark oak. I don’t think it’s too big on my 5’5 frame. This is a great bag and sold my robic version and kept this one.
Definitely a great bag. Now that you mention it, I'll likely sell my ROBIC version as well. You like this bag for EDC? Travel? Everything?
