your such an incredible artist, thank you for spending the time to put out quality art tutorials on youtube when everyone else just seems to do trendy art challenges

*Following leg tutorial*
*Sees hand tutorial in the list*
THANK GOD
dude, this is great. I have a busy lifestyle, but seeing your videos makes me want to continue to keep doodling. you are an excellent teacher. the breakdown of your thought process/examples provided/"common mistakes" that you see and then give a response for improvement.... this is invaluable as a learning tool and an inspiration to people like me.
You are such a good teacher, within the first three minutes my drawing leveled up
I have books with David Finch's incredibly well-detailed and rendered finished art but even the quality of his working sketches knocks most pros out of the water. What a resource this is!!
Time to draw legs! Thank you for your hard work David!
This was perfect timing because I needed a tutorial on how to draw legs in a comic style. Thank you!!!
Your tutorials are amazing, really helps for what style of animation I'm going for. It's kinda a unique twist yet simplified version of this.
As soon as you announce an art book I’m preordering it.
Same here, absolutely🔥

Victor Pleitez I agree with this completely XD. I also wanna buy the udemy course so bad!!!

So good! I especially appreciate how your pragmatic your approach is - how to practice, not just what to practice
Thank You Mr Finch ! I always have the most trouble with legs ! This helps so much.

Very helpful, and now that I ordered the materials you indicated, I can finally redraw your live drawings!
David, these are extremely helpful.
Been exploring my art a lot lately, and I have raw talent, but lack the technical know-how and my foundation is a little shaky. Your videos help a ton!

Great video. I'd also recommend the Hogarth Books , notably dynamic anatomy and dynamic figure drawing
Great video👍
Great artist
You have taught me a ton Thanks aLOT
W David he never misses wayy better than Proko tbh
amazing info
This is great, thanks!!!
Thanks for this informative video, biggest thing I picked up is being mindful of interconnecting muscle shapes, & studying anatomy books to develop a strong base structure.
That's absolutely the most important stuff.
thank you, Mr. Finch!
I've been following your work since Ascension and have pored over your use of lighting and hatching for hours, so these videos have been very helpful and I thank you for taking the time to produce them.
One thing I've been curious about: what is your motivation for making these videos? Is it a hope to pay forward what you've learned and help the next generation of artists? Filling in time between projects for fun?
I know you (and many of your peers) came up in the heyday of the Image studios (like Top Cow for you, or Extreme, Homage/Wildstorm) where collective knowledge was shared and growth was more communal - so I love the idea that you're doing a version of that digitally.
It's definitely not filling in time! I'm really struggling to not fall behind while doing these. I just enjoy teaching a lot, and I've been meaning to get back to it for a while.
You are the number ONE
Great content
Perfect🔥
Holy production values batman! Great video!
Glad you enjoyed it!
LOVE!!!!!
Sou seu fã do Brasil, você é fera!
Thank you sir!!
Thank you!
Fantastic video David! I'll be watching this one quite a few times over for sure! There is always so much information jam packed in your videos.
Thanks Erick!!
me: I can't find good youtube tutorials
David Finch: I can change that
i know that most of these tutorials would work for both, but i would love to see these tutorials but for a female body, like hands, faces and clothes because i think many of us struggle with that.
U are A Blessing
Nice to watch it I will practice this until I am confident about my drawing.
hey david, I was wondering if you could do a bit more on different types of perspective it would help heaps
Exactly like my question is that why should someone use 1 point perspective instead of 2 point
Like when should we use them
@@emmanuelgoodluck9013 Yeah just like that :)
Buy How to Draw the Marvel Way on perspective. All perspective just follows formulas like math.Ive bought plenty of books and they all show different techniques but it's all the same formula for 1 point to 3 point perspective.Practice
Awesome!!!!!
Thank you so much... 👍
Thanks!!
Me: Agh now i has no passion to draw something.
RUclips:Push notification of his vid.
Me: Ah shit, here we go again.
Big fan of you David, Thanks for the tutorial :)
Glad you like it!
@@DavidFinchartist Saw your all the tutorials even on Gnomon as well, Super impressive work - Keep us inspiring !!! :)
Thanks teacher
Hi david, i just recently found out about your videos and every time i want to find a tutorial on youtube i find myself going back to your channel, i really just love your style and how you explain things, and i heard you mentioning an anatomy book, which one would you recommend?
11 dislike? my god! this guy is a legend and thank you mr finch for this, transfer knowledge
thanks so machu!
beeautiful job.,.gretings from argentinaa¡¡'¡'¡'
Your videos are getting better and better! You really nailed this one! Great drawings and the introduction gave it a nice personal touch! Would be great if you would put these drawings out on instagram 🙏🏼✌🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks! I'm really uncomfortable talking to the camera, and I figure the only way to get over that is to just do it... And I need to find my phone. I keep not posting because I don't have it around, and you have to use it for instagram.
David Finch I guess if someone knows that someone needs to practice to get better it’s you, since you developed this insane art catalog in your brain. So yeah, just do it. And you might think that you look funny in front of the camera but you don’t, you’re doing a great job already! 👍🏻
Haha, you and your phone ☺️
I still would need the link to your video for my video description 😅✌🏻☺️🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
"Yes, doctor, I've been having some shooting pains right here in my football shapes."
😅😅
nice video ^^
This is a separate comment to the other one I posted in regards to requests for future tutorials in case you needed ideas or anything: drawing shoulders from different angles and when the arm is raised and lowered, back muscles in different angles and poses (with the stretching and contractions and such depending on pose), arms, and of course: the chest. The last one would be connecting the head to the torso (drawing neck from different angles and positions). Anyway, thank you!!
Those are all great. I'll cover them all for sure.
Mi has gracias master me encanta su extilo👀👽
This is something I’ll always watch over and over every time I struggle, your videos help lots David!!!
Also, can you make a video about rendering only???
Heads next week, and then I'm doing rendering.
@@DavidFinchartist all right thank you David!!!
Good drawing..done subscribe👌
Omg thank you so much! I really struggle drawing legs often times, particularly when it comes to actually connecting the torso with then legs in an organic-looking fashion. Sometimes it either gets really overwhelming or just looks very stiff and awkward. So anyway, thank you Mr Finch! Your videos are phenomenal! I was also wondering if you'd upload a timelapse of the Silver Surfer piece?
Thanks a lot! I'm going to have one out soon.
David Finch awesome!!
Do a video on which figure drawing/anatomy books to look at.
Incredible vid :) another idea: do u think u could do a very short vid about that pencil you use and other tools? It looks very neat.
Oh also, it would be helpful to have done both male and female legs. The low muscle definition of women can be a challenge for me especially in this style
I would like to do a tools video. And I'll be covering women separately. I should get to that!
Thanks
You very very gooood
The hardest thing for mine is the calf and the connection of the thigh and the calf Thank you Mister David.
Dave, thanks for showing the iterative process in constructive drawing -- I think it's invaluable for beginners.
Have you always penciled in graphite, or have you also used non-photo blue? Do you know if inkers have a common preference working over one vs the other, or does it vary by individual? Thanks!
I tried blue for a little bit, but it doesn't erase well, and I don't like how the finished page looks. I've had inkers say that ink beads up on it if it's too heavy.
