- The Horse Shelter Heroes assist law enforcement on a large hoarding case where over 100 animals were seized from a woman who was previously found guilty of animal abuse. She pleaded guilty in 2009 to Animal Abuse and her sentencing included probation where she could no longer own any more than 1 cat and 1 dog, and no large animals.
Over 70 animals were rescued by the Horse Plus Humane Society rescue team.

Thankful for all of you doing this job of rescuing these animals! I cannot believe she did this before & now again. Thank goodness she's going to jail & I hope something can keep her from doing this again. There should be someone checking on this person weekly because of this!

I do not understand why she was only charged with 18 counts of animal cruelty! IMO it should be 1 count per animal, dead or alive. The rescue group is going to have many months of work on their hands helping all of these animals heal physically. The emotional toll on the animals may never be erased. I was happy to see her hand cuffed & getting in the SUV.
She is not a criminal. She is in hell and needs help. She must never have animals again, for sure, but people like this do not realize the harm they are doing. They need care.

Hoarding is a mental illness rooted in trauma and abuse. Poor misjudged misunderstood lady. She needed help but too scared to ask. She got animals to fill the hole in her heart. Hopefully she’s finally getting the help she needs.

Many times people get depressed, and instead of reaching out, they just spiral down..

This makes me so sad. Some of those birds are native to my home country in Australia and I think of the life of a being wild creature and then being kept in such horrible conditions. Thanks for helping do such amazing work.

You don’t know here story. Maybe she was a hoarder. Maybe she was lonely and abused and thought more animals more love, but got in over her head. Still probably not as bad as the guys who buy the animals to inhumanly kill them, especially when they’re healthy.

I am grateful I am not a judge. And you are right, the description gives a very limited history on her. But if one person tortures 500 animals by neglect, and another person kills 500 animals for profit, and the animals were allowed to vote - do you think either person would get off easy?

I’ve been watching this youtube channel for a week now, and i am amazed at the beautiful work you guys do. I’ve always been an animal lover, i’ve done rescues here in Australia QLD, and wanted to get into rescuing horses from auctions down here in Aus. It’s horrific how people treat animals, and alot ALOT! Of people, do not deserve animals.

Fancy little lizard things? *lol* You knew Turkens, but not Leopard Geckos? :D Those turtles broke my heart, and that confused little bi-black Sheltie. Loved that HAPPY dog though. I'm sure it knew that was its lucky day, unlike for some of the poor other babies that didn't make it out alive.
I couldn't stop crying. Thank God they were saved. You guys are amazing!! So sad for the ones who didn't make it. Humans can be so cruel. :-(

This was right down the road from me.. Im a gecko keeper. Ive NEVER seen leopard geckos being in such filth. Seeing all those animals/reptiles being kept like that is just sad. Sick sick people out there. Thank yall for all that yall do!!
In a case like that I would have thought maybe someone died. There's not enough hours in the day for one person to water and feed all of those poor creatures! That Afghan hound jumping for joy broke my heart!

God and I feel horrible about the fact that I don't take my 2 dogs for longer walks everyday... I cannot imagine having so many animals and living in such a disgusting mess!! Dust is one thing, but this is absolute filth! I heard they hard priors in Alabama?? Can the justice system make it so she's flagged in every state and country and banned from owning any kind of animal ever again!? It should be that way at least... The emotional toll on these poor beings... I hope they are able to fund happiness and peace. Thank you for being there for them
When i start watching the video i thought maybe dis person got to many animals and i just got out of hand but the more i watcht i just cant believe dis women ever loved her animals because is you love youre animals you can’t just trow them away like there garbage like the meant nothing i really really really hope she spend a long time in jail

I couldn’t get over just How Many Animals, and critters, birds that horrendous women had shacked and stuffed away like it was some Playskool Farmyard! That was utterly disgusting! It broke my heart to see all them babies suffering so, but ecstatic to know life will be so much more wonderful and happy and healthy for them!! You truly are making a difference!!

I have more questions as to what you did with all of these animals? It seems like other groups & organizations are needed to step up. That another follow up video is needed.
Laws need immediate changes. if you have been a hoarder once you will do it again. The incredible effort of law enforcement, sanctuaries and rescues are stretched as it is and taking in a group of nearly dead, ill, or neglected is very expensive.
My dog was rescued from a hoarding situation... not nearly as horrible as this. I truly don't understand how it gets to this point. Not a day goes by I don't wipe the sleepies from her eyes. How could anyone let their animals live in this kind of filth?

It's great that you were able to rescue the live stock but it was extremely irresponsible of the sheriff to send the exotic animals with you guys. Exotic rescue animals need exotic animal professionals not people who don't even know what a leapord gecko is. Hope all the exotics will actually get the care they need and require
You could have inquired if they still had them - I am sure they would have offered a great deal.
God bless you guys for taking on so much to help those that are the most innocent of God's creations. It breaks my heart to see how far mankind can stoop to not only hurt each other but small defenseless animals as well. We consider ourselves to be the smartest and most developed of all the Lords creations. We can't even figure out how to live along side other people let alone creatures who share the planet with us. So sad and one we will really regret it because our survival will be at stake.

Well - y'all really took one for the team here. You had lots of animals outside your normal wheelhouse. What the heck did you do with them all? Did anyone take them off your hands? Those sheep, goats, all would need every bit as much care and quarantine as the horses do. Cattle, geese, chickens... then you had the exotics, the lizards the tropical birds, I don't know what all else. Then there were those you could just plug into your normal cycle: the horses, mini donkeys, and were there some mini horses and regular donkeys? Oh my. And the dogs - you didn't have to take those, which is good. There are rescue groups that specialize in dogs. I'm surprised I did not see any cats. They may have all just gone feral. Whoa. Huge job. You all are the best!

Luckily someone found what was happening. They were all such friendly animals and many more of them would have starved and died.

That would be a ruff day on EVERY level for those rescue workers. From the heartbreak, worry and stress of getting all the animals out and the awful smell on top of it !!! I wish they’d wear gloves because you don’t know the bugs these poor animals have from these conditions!!! Again I want the SAME thing to be done to that lady thing!!😡

For everyone hating on the owner of all those animals: If you look closely you can see he/she once cared about them a lot. For example the bird cages are really good and expensive cages. I think what happened (what most of the times happenes) is something happened with the owner and it got too much to handle. And those people are lots of times too scared to ask for help because of all the hate they will get.
I like to put the owner in one of those cages and lock her in and treat her the same as she has with those poor animals. It's so shocking. How was she was so secretive keeping all those animals in those horrible conditions.Hope she was banned from having animals for life. Makes me so sick how people treat animals so cruel. Thank you for saving the live animals in time 😊

Why would you have that many animals if you can't care for them. I'm gald they where picked up. They finally get the care they deserve.
Hoarders cause so much misery. This is an illness that tortures innocent animals but must be a living hell for the person. It should be nipped in the bud by family or doctors, but usually ends up with the death and misery of so many animals. If you suspect some one in your life is a hoarder, please try everything to get it under control before it is too late. Human misery equates to animal death and pain.
My heart broke when i saw the leopard geckos and tortoises. I love horses and i ride them but i definitely have a softer spot for reptiles 💔
If she pleaded guilty in 2009 why did it take until 2020 to take the animals? Or was that when the case was all tied up so you could release the footage?

I HAVE DONE CAT RESCUE IN THE PAST. THER EI SNOTHING THAT PREPARES FOR THE EMOTIONAL ABUSE THAT THESE ANIMALS LIVE IN. I RESCUSED A HEROIN ADDICTED CAT. JUNKIE OWNER, NEEDED A FRIED TO DODRUG WITH! THE CAT HAD (4) KITTENS, MALNOURISHED, AS SHE WAS AND ALMOST PARALYZED WITH NUTRITIONALLY DEFICIENCIES. AWFUL. THYE CAME TO MY FOSTER CARE, AND THRIVED AFTER MONTHS OF LOVE AND THERAPY AND FOOD. LOTS OF FOOD.
people are so cruel to keep any animal in conditions like that....would think they all need to be disinfected and washed down after that....

I don't know what Kind of mental illness hoarding is---but it's obviously endangerment and self-harming as well as cruelty to the animals. It seems to be a complete inability to reason or attain sane boundaries. She needs to be put away in professional management herself for the remainder of her life. Who knows what traumas have driven her insane? But insane is what she is.

7 minutes in and I haven't seen a single injured or skinny animal who cares if their place is a mess it's their place it's none of your business.
Animals die there's nothing you can do you buy them from the auction and there's nothing you can do if they're already sick they die and these people might be lazy and they haven't picked up the bones yet but that doesn't mean that they killed them they could have just bought them diseased.
I think there was maybe two skinny animals in this whole video and they could have just bought them.
