Can we take a second to appreciate the g80 has nothing but simple bolt ons and a stage 2 map and its only just lost by a car length against a car with similar powertrain thats got forged internals and an upgraded turbo. The s58 is absolutely nuts

I’d rather have the styling of the F80 but the engine (S58) of the G80; that’s the best combination.

Okay, M being raced is always an intense study.
I am a avid-diehard M-guy.
This race by 2 versions of set-up is about going back to the drawboard.
I know technology moves forward and I am not a fan of the DCT.
I'd love the new M3-Touring with stick 6-speed. Getting off the line is about practice and more practice. Tires manifest but bottom-line is the driver being calmly in control of his clutch.
However still, you bring soooo much to the table.
You have my all-out support and admiration✊🏻

@@rolanddonker6295 my F80 is stage 2 with just under 100,000km and has never had a DCT problem and I beat it like a red headed step child ever since I got it new 3 years ago. Had a 6 speed before that and DCT is without a doubt lightyears faster than a manual
@@brosephstalin2491 I commend you, I really do. The dealer ended-up finally paying for it. It was one of those freak-things causing me aloth of frustration, let alone money. Soo again please, I do know technically it's better just that experience cost me aloth accord.

One of the nicest launch I have seen on the f80 m3
Although G80 G82s have incredibly powerful S58s, but they weigh so heavy that their weights kinda eat up all the extra power. I feel like BMW did this intentionally.

nah the older m3 is WAYYYYYY more tuned the new m3 just has a simple stage 2 thats it if it would be tuned exactly like the older m3 it would have destroyed it without a sweat

F80 is not faster lol. F80 needed built motors and upgraded turbos to even compete with a piggyback tuned g80. Custom e85 tuned g80 is running Sub 4s to low 5s 60-130 while a stock turbo fbo e85 f80 is running high 6s to low 6s 60-130. Let’s not even talk 1/4 mile where the g80 is already in the 9s in what 2 years of production some the f80 hasn’t been able to do

If the G80 had 100kg less and the same power yeah it would be different as the f series are normally terrible for getting off the line , the G80 would have it ! However if the f80 was 4wd ....🫢really good to see this was ,well done both parties the G80s will develop more and more #mpower

G80 is a beast
Once the cars are at that hp it takes a longer runway to really notice the difference. Like a rimac vs tesla plaid. Its nearly double the power but in shorter distance its not that noticeable.
That F80 has some amazing tuning to get it to hook the way it does
Why didn't the G80 owner do launch control? It's proven to be effective even for the RWD models to launch in 2nd gear. Also this was obviously a mismatch. But still fun to watch.

I would have liked to see the XDrive of the G80 with the F80. We all know it’s a sizable advantage but it would be nice to see how much it makes a difference.

I'd choose the G80 I like the looks of that car. As a BMW fanboy I was never disappointed by its looks since they were introduced. I'm one kind of a species that likes something not because of how the public will accept it but rather how I would feel looking at it in my garage or drive way.

This was a great race to watch! A nice rolling race with great pacing and cool to see how the new bmw had the start at dragrace but just cant win vs the power in the end.

rwd mate it ran 11.89 stock on ps4s.. it does a 10.6 with semi slicks in the warm.. low 10s incoming
