    Reason 6: the crew is horrible. Same number of people of ME1 plus uninteresting James Vega, no characters from ME2 (except tali and garrus, who were in ME1...)
    Reason 7: the citadel is the worst of the three games. We had a huge Citadel in ME1. We had four medium but original free zones in ME2. We have a five little zones separated by loading screens in ME3.
    Reason 8: the worst sidequests in the saga. Only Fedex objectives with no originality.
    Reason 9: less dialogs. Less dialogs options. Shepards talks alone, the player have no control of what Shepard says in a lot of scenes, wich was very rare in ME 1 and 2. The dialogs are more manichean than before because we only have two choices instead of three. The paragon/renegade scale is useless.
    Reason 10: NO FREAKING CONSEQUENCES OF OUR CHOICES. You killed the rachni queen in ME1? A big FUCK YOU FROM BIOWARE, who made a clone of her. You let the council dies in ME1? A big FUCK YOU FROM BIOWARE, because the new one acts the same way. You appointed Anderson as a human councilor in ME1? A big FUCK YOU FROM BIOWARE, he resigns in ME3 and he is replaced by Udina, the other choice of ME1. You destroyed the collector base in ME2? A big FUCK YOU FROM BIOWARE, because Cerberus still collected the human reaper's skeleton, wich blew up. You helped all of your crew in ME2? a big FUCK YOU FROM BIOWARE, because most of them will not join you, even if you passed entire ME2 to build a freaking awesome team.

      the game was rushed and made by amateurs look at how they handled: tali's face, choices from me2,earth, asari homeworld,exploration,romances,the me2 cast,quest system, combat system.

    • @TheJupiteL
      @TheJupiteL 7 лет назад +7

      Yup, by the end of the game your choices doesn't matter and it goes all linear from there. I was hoping there's an option to join Cerberus halfway to the game if you supported them in ME2, that way they could at least ended up with 2 ending rather than "pick your color" ending.

    finding this video as a new ME player and seeing the ratio and comments made 6-8 years ago is so jarring now. i can imagine how fans, who’d been with the series from day 1, would’ve found it hard to accept how awful the ending was after investing so much in the series and experiencing the game at the time.

    I feel like with every Mass Effect sequel, they failed a very important thing.
    Instead of ADDING to the game, they SUBSTITUTED. While ME2 especially added some nice things, they also TOOK AWAY nice/favored things that gave the first game it's charm.
    So instead of expanding on what they had, they instead gave us new concepts while simultaneously yanking away good concepts from the game(s) prior.

      @@SYMShutYoMouth Special atmosphere, dark villains that have actually depth and are mysterious and invite the player to explore, RPG elements, clever dialogue, from sci-fi to cover shooter based in the world but dumbed down, lack of personalization of combat to start.
      It destroyed specialization and made the game available for masses so that $$$ keep coming. The Collector plot was stupid. Btw - what was an ammo mod is a 3 clip consumable in Andromeda that people really dont bother using. Its many things since ME2 was essentially a reboot of the franchise with Cerberus bs. (They can resurrect and clone? From what tech? etc. Why is alliance suddenly so stupid? Why are ex-squadmates not interested in finding you? Why is the council and Citadel writing so much worse and dumb? AND much more.)

      The problem wasn't the mako, it was having to drive over that much goofy terrain to find all the collectibles that did nothing other than complete a side mission in your quest log and then give you more starting resources in ME2. I loved Therum, where I had a simple objective to get to, and wouldn't have minded the more open planets had there only been one or two locations to go to and I didn't have to scour terrain to find things not on the map.

    • @sethn5217
      @sethn5217 8 лет назад +2

      +mrFalloutFan95 The majority of those dislikes probably came from people who started the series at Mass Effect 3. That game lost the feel that the others had almost completely, the combat in 3 almost felt completely on-rails, characters like James Vega felt like they were there for the sake of it, all of the auto speech was disgusting. The focus on humanity, Earth and the military were frustrating when the main draw from the original game was the vastness and wonder of the galaxy, and Mass Effect 2 worked really well with the story and characters, dealing with the mysterious reapers and collectors. Overall I felt Mass Effect 3 handled the overall story pretty badly.
      The DLC was dreadfully bad (minus the Citadel DLC), and then that goddamn ending. It's a bit depressing imagining what kind of game it could of been if EA didn't own Bioware's soul and they didn't try to market it to a mainstream audience.

    As someone who played the trilogy about 13 years later I actually think that the first game is the weakest I loved the emotion of 3 but 2 had the best story and characters

    • @mikeshinwa3398
      @mikeshinwa3398 2 года назад

      For me, 1 is the weakest when you look at it as a standalone entry to the franchise. Clunky gameplay, decent characters but nothing mesmerising. And yet, ironically, it was more of a RPG than ME 3. And without the foundation laid by ME 1, ME 2 or 3 wouldn't exist. ME 1 was the most "RPG-esque" out of the 3 games, and established the world of the franchise in a beautiful way that it was only uphill from there, provided the writers knew what they were doing.
      ME 2 took that and improved on the story and the script, focusing a lot more on new characters whilst expanding on the lore and world-building of the second game. The third game tries to juggle WAY too much and it was the most disappointing out of the three for sure. Just think about the number of plot points and character arcs the game had to complete, all the while being incredibly linear, in the sense of the story being this race against time and focused solely on the Reaper War. It felt way too rushed, many characters didn't get the moment they needed to breathe, hell just look at what happened to the entire ME 2 crew except for Garrus and Tali.
      ME 1 and 2 were relatively smaller in their scope. Even though they hinted at an imminent universe-ending threat, the smaller scope helped in giving players the time to really 'soak in' everything great about Mass Effect, the characters, the lore, the atmosphere, the beautiful soundtracks.
      I also recently finished the trilogy in 2020 for the first time and in my opinion, Bioware should have taken way more years for Mass Effect 3, possibly splitting it up, because the number of things it had to do was absolutely ridiculous to execute at a high level in just 2 years.

    Mass Effect 2 the best by faaaaaaaar, The Shadowbroker DLC alone is better than Mass effect 3, The Suicide Mission is legendary good, gameplay was fluid, characters development was awesome, dialogue was spot on, just a tip , dont play Infiltrator , makes the game so boring with all upgrades and the Widow, fights basically become a minigame where you point and click in slowmo on heads and onehsot everything even on insanity when all enemies have Barriers,Shields and Armor

      Red Sniper I like the Citadel DLC, it was a big fat fan service, most parts were awesome, funny and emotional, but sometimes I thought it didn't fit with the dark tone and imminent extermination of the whole galaxy with earth being invaded while shepard having the greatest time of his life playing in the casino :>

    The DLC can be blamed partly on the fact that there is a multiplayer mode (need to make room for that extra data). The sad part is that most of Ashley Williams lines in the game are bugged (conversation with Liara, more dialog with her sister, she does not get out of her room unlike the other characters, etc) and Bioware has not even bothered to fix those problems.

      think if instead of the variables(having a cannon or not,using a wrong squadmate) ME2 had a value bar system that maked the planet scanning even more annoying,the cannon on the normandy not being important.and not choosing squadmates was important,but instead this value was,having only 1 variant of the suicide mission,the individual abilities of a companion\war asset not being important,like it if choosing miranda on the biotic field was the same for samara\jack,having the geth\quarians united is the same having one of them,as long the EMS is high you can 'win'.
      a gameplay mechanic has ruined what was important in ME2,what i really liked ME2.

    Copy this anywhere you want if you want other's to imagine a different ending! I'm not the originator of this idea but it's great, just spend a couple of minutes of this please! (not cheesy, I hate cheesy)
    *a new ending* # 3 DAMN YOU EA!!!!! CUT IT THERE AND IT WOOULD HAVE BEEN AN INCREDIBLE ENDING WITH NO STAR-CHILD!!! in all seriousnes, destroy should have been obligatory (even if we keep the end cut scene), starchild should have gone; you should have seen a cut scene of wether shepard was regarded as a hero or a vilain at the end with cut scenes (not a slideshow). a speech like.
    adm. Hacket - " And so the war was won. There have been victories, there have been defeats. We lost countless lives, those dear to us, those of our enemies, Many will not live to see the light at the end of the tunnel, and each of them will be remembered. There might not be enough space for all of them they will be for each individual to recal, but some were heroes, some truly saved us all."
    afterwards in the rebel ending
    *"There was one man I remember, a great man; both cunning and ruthless, proud and good.*(shows Sehpard fighting)*The Means always justified the ends with him,*(shows him killing someone)*though his methods were questionable, he always put the good of the many before himself*(shows his saccrifice (any of them))*. He believed in the acsent of man... he made sure that the universe would know the name: Earth*shows him standing in London proudly*. The universe shall always remember how him, his ship, his crew battled the odds and saved us all."*
    or in the paragon ending
    *"There was one man I remember, a good man, a great man.*(shows Shepard negotiating)*.He knew what came first, what was just and right*(Shows him saving someone)*. He would make the biggest sacrifices so others wouldn't * (shows his saccrifice (any of them))*. Defender of the weak, he wanted man to be great, but also to be just to all our neighbors*(Shows him with alien friends)*. The universe shall always remember how him, his ship, his crew battled the odds and saved us all."*
    after either one, he or his friends make a speech about all the things he did and why from Ashley to the Geth to the Salarians to the Krogan to even Cerberus.
    In the end, if war score is high enough, we'll see Shepard limping out towards Earth from the citadel and collapsing. A Human shuttle (if renegade) or Alien (if paragon) shines it's spotlights on him and we see them quickly rush towards him with med-gel and overhear a conversation where there is a 50/50 chance of survival. the credits roll and now a slideshow rolls in credits and shows all the planets he affected. Rannoch as Geth or Quarian or both, Tuchanka as a rebuilding metropolis or a warzone etc... and finally (optional) if he survives, we see him in the medical ward of a place (Earth maybe?) looking out the window and seeing it being slowly rebuilt.
    Thoughts?
    EDIT: or if anything else, with enough war assets, you F*** the child's conclusion and you tell the fleet to destroy the citadel conventionally while Shepard goes of in a shuttle the normandy sends.

      And I even think your reasons are the lesser problems of the game.
      The crucible is stupid, no doubt about it and yes a Deus ex machina device filled with space magic and insanity.
      The military strategy becomes a sad joke when the only strategy is to " create a weapon that no one knows what it is, what it does, if works or even if the schematics are complete".
      Gameplay have some problems but for me is the best part of the game.
      The main problem and the source of all crap is the violation, the rape of the essence of ME3 and the complete destruction of Shepard spirit. Shepard died in the dlc arrival and never appeared in ME3. The endings are just the cherry in the top, three crimes, rape, totalitarianism or genocide, shepard as the right hand of the reapers.
      This game destroys previous games from a narrative point of view, to see people called fans, happy about it is something that goes beyond my comprehension.

    What I disliked about it was the simplification of the series from 2 onwards. I loved mass effect one because it was complex and difficult and took some understanding of how it works. It was never as simple as it is now, oh this gun is better because I bought it later in the story. No, ME was stat blocks and hardcore rpg oldschool. I played ME all the way through, at least 10 times with one character. I beat it on every difficulty. Now that I have played ME2 and ME3 and its been dumbed down so much I can't go back and play the original. I've been spoiled by the new stuff to much, before I could ignore the small things wrong with 1, now I've grown bitter against the series. Bioware and EA you made hate this series.

      Well,Mass Effect series is best described as action/RPG game.One of best parts of the game are character development and plot while gameplay mechanisms accompany them.If you only care about the gameplay,why would you even play the series?There are better titles for gameplay,and ME has great immersion and story+characters,so you miss 3/4 of the game by skipping dialogues and focusing on gameplay,which is quite good in my opinion.,

      ME1;
      Let The Council Die didn't have you controlling the alliance,or synthetize them.
      Focus on Sovereign is the same as above but the difference is that you do it for logical purposes,instead of the above 'you die because i don't like you'
      Save the Council didn't have you destroy an entire race to stop sovereign
      all endings don't require a deus ex machina.unlike ME3
      ME3
      kill the synthetics,shooting a tube was all shepard had to do to stop the reapers
      control the reapers,magically assume control of the reapers
      syntesis the life in the galaxy with reaper tech and change their dna
      endings revolve around a deus ex machina

    • @tutamal
      @tutamal 10 лет назад

      arbiteras pick 3 options same outcome; both games had the same ending execution, just pick the great ultimate decision without caring about the other ones or quests you made before; that was the thing that ME2 (yeah i said ME2) tried to avoid with the final outcome, which let you know that some decisions and quests are important towards the endings.
      Don't get me wrong, this is my favorite videogame trilogy of all times, but as someone that had played both ME1 and ME2 countless of timems before the release of the third I immediately related ME3 super final decision with the ME1 super final decision, I could forgive that with the first game but not with the third, it was the end of the franchise, pretty much insulting to execute it the same way they did like they did in the first one.Maybe you should try and play again the entire series (maybe you'll notice, maybe not) and btw same type of execution is not the same as cutscenes.

Like sure you won, Sure you saw an intergalactic laser show, sure you saw joker race the explosion at the speed of light, sure the ending looked cool. but wtf thats it everyone lives big middle finger up your ass the end??? like wtf i was expecting better or if you choose control it's just another big middle finger up your ass because nice Shephard controls idk the billions of beings in the galaxy like tf they are mind slaves now thats not cool. and then the synthesis also the in the final choice shephard says without a future we would be machines (Jumps into synthesis option) ehh fuck 10 seconds ago. The destruction part was the only one that made sense. 1. you don't turn into a husk 2. you don't get fingered by Edward Scissor Hands with the other 3 endings 3. Shephard lives. 4. you actually get the ending you fucking worked up too like seriously
    Shephard: Hmmmm lets see i almost died to the reapers a couple times they fucked me in the ass at the citadel portal... I can destroy them now , Ehhh Fuck it nobody needs a future anyway. *gives up*

      I was more annoyed that Cerberus were made out and out evil. I rdally wanted them to join forces with Shep again and take on the Reapers, with their morally ambiguous scientific genius.
      I wish it was at least possible. Like, depending on how ME2 went for you, Cerberus were either good or bad.
      I wrote a fanfiction about that happening actually.
      I would have been okay with Kai Leng being a squad-mate if the game had made him as fleshed out and awesome as the books. I didn't like in-game Kai Leng. He was kinda terrible. They treated him like a nuisance or ignored him right up until Thessia. I'm not gioing to care about a boss battle if the bad guy only existed and mattered for the last four missions of the third game, am i? Stupid Bioware.

    • @MsSomeone98
      @MsSomeone98 10 лет назад +3

      James Bennett My problem with kai is that he is a plothole.
      Thane should have shot him in the head on the Citadel, but by some miraculous plothole he survives.
      My Shepard was a Vanguard. He would have charged right at kai instead of running at a snail's pace to give him a plothole to escape. Even if Shep wasn't a biotic he coul've just thrown a grenade or an incinerate.
      And don't get me started on Thessia. He sucked even harder there. He comes out thinking he can take on both Shep AND 2 others, and gets beaten so he resorts to using a gunship for cover to recharge his shields.
      What the fuck? I just killed 2 harvestors, how's a gunship gonna stop me? A flashy light! Oh no!
      He is not big enough to fight his own battles without a gunship as backup, or an army of Cerberus phantoms.

    • @3DSDF

      It was actually pretty stupid of Cerberus for what they did in ME3: All intelligent, organic life are fighting extinction, and you're seriously gonna fuck up a plan that might actually save everyone, especially the race aka Humanity that you're "fighting for?!". It would've been better for Cerberus to redeem themselves and fight alongside everyone else.
      Also BioWare made Kai Leng a typical muscle goon in ME3; to me, the only personality that he had was that he was jealous of the attention that Shepard was getting from T.I.M.

    I agree here. All the hard decisions you ever made in ME1 just end up being numbers, stats in War Assests. I thought when I saved the rachni in ME1 that it would have huge implications on the rest of the story, but ME3 just kind of said, oh btw rachni and left it at that. ME3 doesn't do enough. It nods at your past choices and then tells you, yeah you're still going down the same path as everyone else no matter what you do.

    Okay, lets sum this up, depending on the combat of the game means if it is a RPG yes or no? At least that is my impression of the opinion of gamers these days. They say this, RPG + turnbased combat = RPG, RPG + more action orientated combat = Action game with few RPG elements... I still dont get this logic of them.

    • @EdgarAllanBroe
      @EdgarAllanBroe 9 лет назад

      No, that really isn't RPG-gamer logic, that's a misunderstanding of RPG-gamer logic.
      Sure, if you want a 'pure' RPG, it's going to be turn based, and the reason is because the original RPG's were pen and paper games and were turn based, but that doesn't mean they're the only RPG's. An example would be Demon's Souls and Dark Souls. They're both action RPG's, but still RPG's. The action oriented combat doesn't change that they have more RPG focus than any game bioware's put out in the last 5 years.
      The reason people are calling games like ME2/3 and Dragon Age Inquisition action games with some RPG elements is because that's what they are. Shooting and/or hacking and slashing takes the front seat while character development and stat focus is dumbed down and pushed to the side to try to appeal to a wider audience.

    • @Fyriaan
      @Fyriaan 9 лет назад

      EdgarAllanBroe I am a huge fan of RPGs, but for me it is really hard to get an turnbased combat right. For example I like the combat in Lord of the Rings : Third Age, but I don't like the combat in Divinity Original Sin.
      The only turnbased RPG I like these days is Dungeons & Dragons (table version).

    Yeah, I feel it went about like that. I enjoyed the gameplay of the first one the most, and each one after that felt like a step away. A lot of the classes seemed to become too combat focused in terms of just dealing damage, with armor types and weapon restrictions removed. It was kind of fun to have power like Overheat, Sabotage, and Damping, as well as even some out of combat abilities. I really disliked that 'hacking' became a sort of 'press x to hack the console'. Sure, the little minigames weren't much, but it was nice to have a little more input.

    Also, Shepard doesn't really have to let anyone close to him die aside from on Virmire and a couple other choice moments. The only reason people say ME3 sucked is because it wasn't the ending they wanted. If you go into the series and end it with an open mind I can assure you, you WON'T be disappointed. I also feel the need to say that the ENTIRE game of ME3 was the ending, not just the last 15 minutes...

    The problems I have, is that the Catalyst undermines the plot to Mass Effect 2. The original plan, as the writers have stated, was the Dark Energy arc. The reason for building a Human Reaper in Mass Effect 2, was that due to the genetic diversity of humans, it was to be their last saving 'Think-tank' that could possibly solve the Dark Energy build up.

    The ones complaining about the ending only do it because they where fools and just made a fast walk trough. The complete history is awesome. And if you never reached that 7000 points thats needed to see the synthesis ending but still complain about the ending you should play little big planet. That suits more your abilities. To the creator of the video: i never saw the 7 reasons whx mass effect sucks... never will. Its a great game and everyone that criticise it dont have the mental capacity to see what genius creation they did with limited ressources. Mass effect 4 is coming out soon and im gona get it

      Dude... people complain about the ending because it comes in only 3 possible flavors/colors and if you amass enough points, you get some sprinkles ontop of your shit sundae (which amounts to like an additional 2 seconds of cutscene.) I can't take anyone who defends ME3 seriously... either you didn't play it Day 1 when the ending was truly terribad (with the additional DLC and updates, it's now only sufferable.)

    • @dangould5055
      @dangould5055 9 лет назад

      Batman Mass Effect 2 only ended in 2 ways, yet no one is complaining about that. You can complain about simplicity, but haters are the ones saying the only difference were colors. In Mass Effect 2 there were 2 different color explosions, and the choices did not seem to do much, but no one complained about that. Building up your assets worked in almost the same way in Mass Effect 2, only it was loyalty and upgrades, yet no one complained about that. In my opinion, the only bad thing about the mass effect 3 ending is that is it over, and you won't see your crewmates again unless you replay it. The ending could not have been amazing, because endings are supposed to be a climax. Mass Effect 3, the entire game, was the climax, and when it ended, it was over. True fans cannot get over that, because of all the hours invested in the Mass Effect Universe, and the characters. I sympathize with you, but it is time to move on.

      Well, you miss the fact ME2 had actually ending, where Shepard died.
      Also, in ME2 there could not be possible very different endings, as it was known there would be ME3, and, well, different endings would force devs to make two games in one. ME3, on the other hand, being a conclusion, could have different endings.
      Well, I'd love if in ME3 assets had same impact as ME2 loyalties. Imagine final battle for Earth with control over single unit's mission, the same as it was in Suicide Mission with crew members. Like, you must choose who'll charge the enemy. Obvious choice - krogan. But what if you didn't cure the genophage? Or didn't disarm Tuchanka bomb? Things gonna' get ugly. Or not, if you saved Rachni. Sadly, this idea was trashed by BioWare, cause they couldn't make it in given time.
      Also, for conclusive part of trilogy, endings are not that conclusive. Take control for example - we know it'll be different depending on if Shep is Paragon on Renegade, but we don't see the consequences.

    • @dangould5055
      @dangould5055 9 лет назад

      ace0071000 I don't understand. It seems to me like they did what you are asking. If you didn't cure the genophage, the krogan forces are diminished, and you won't get as good an ending. If you did cure it, the final assault goes much better. It would be almost impossible to make it so that you saw animations and got branching paths for what people you got to join the cause, so the developer just put it in as a numerical value which in turn affects the ending. Which is a lot more than any other video game has done. It is not perfect, because perfection is impossible. If you haven't already,get the extended cut. That shows things like the Krogan and geth, depending on your choices.

    Mass effect 1: Hard game on the highest difficulty enemies did crazy damage and since the combat wasn't refined you had to rely on good equipment and good squad grouping to survive
    Mass effect 2: corridor shooter no exploration, less character development everyone was a one trick pony and sheppard was starting to feel like bruce willis from die hard
    Mass effect 3: All exploration gone. Prior game decisions gone (you didn't save the rachni well they cloned em anwyays FUCK YOU) no need for ally support (became a 3rd person gun and run) All those ending we were promised were all boiled down to blue, white or red at the end of the game.

    I don't think controlling spaceships and actively taking part in spacebattles would've made sense in the Mass Effect trilogy. Joker was the captain of the Normandy and the playable character was Shepard, the Commanding Officer of the Normandy.
    Since the next installment of this series will be centered more around exploration, that might include actually flying a ship and encountering pirates etc..

    Drew Karpyshyn is a giant among sci-fi/fantasy writers, Mac Walters tried to stand on that giant’s shoulders to finish the story, unfortunately he fell off and landed on his head, Bioware then scooped up the mess that dribbled out of his ears and that’s how we got ME3.

    Of course, we are left with the bizarre illogical revelation, that the Reapers only intention was the "preserve" organic life -- to protect it from synthetics. This retcon, renders the 'Suicide Mission' in Mass Effect 2 as inconsequential and/or non-canon to Mass Effect 3's plot line. Or vice-versa.

    I don't get people who say the Reaper's creators motivations got fucked up in the third game. They wanted the Reapers to wipe out highly advanced races to stop those races from creating synthetics that completely wipe out ALL organics. A bit extreme but it at least makes sense.
    Sure you could say, and I think Joe has, that the Geth working with humans is proof this can be avoided without mass slaughter but the Space Kid acknowledges this and says the Reaper solution won't work anymore since Shepard is standing there with him. He realizes it would take synthetic and organic cooperation to get there and Shepard is the first to ever really create that, or if you doomed the Geth that humans kick that much ass that synthetics aren't a threat anyway.

    • @Kalaida
      @Kalaida 10 лет назад +8

      Here's the problem. There is no proof that synthetics created by organics will "wipe out ALL organics" in the galaxy because it has never actually happened. If it did, well, there would only be synthetics left in the galaxy. The Catalyst is basing all of his actions solely on assumptions that even in Mass Effect 3's doesn't fit with what happens in the game's story. You can have the Geth and the Quarians work things out and join you in fighting the Reapers. Oh, here's another funny bit. All of the Geth from the first Mass Effect were hostile because of.... and this is a pretty crucial point, REAPER INFLUENCE.
      We are literally facing a foe who is burning your house down to prevent you from burning your house down.

    • @stalkersas
      @stalkersas 10 лет назад +1

      Kalaida I find the catalist to be the mother of all ironies. (SPOILER ALERT!!!)
      If you have the leviathan dlc, we find out that this catalist is an AI created by the "creators" (wich are this ancient species, the leviathan is 1 of few survivers) to find a solution to the conflicts they see between less advanced species and theyr sinthetic creations. The catalist decides wiping the advanced races and the sinthetics both is the solution and takes action without notice, starting with theyr creators. Sooo... creators make sinthetics to end confict between organics and synthetics, but they wipe them out, so now they become part of the problem... wich was that sinthetics eventualy wipe the organics that made them. Epic backfire and irony are the things that come in mind :)
      And after all... Shep proved that synthetics and organics can work togheter for the better by uniting the geth and quarians. On the other hand... it took the reapers to unite the galaxy together and realize that working together is the way to go if they want to achieve the imposible and defeat the undefeatable.

      Kalaida It could have came close enough to assume that though. For all we know the only thing that stopped it from happening way back when was one last intelligent dude pressing a button in the nick of time. And yeah the Geth were hostile because of Reapers, but they thought it was going to happen anyway, there's wasn't a doubt in their minds. The Reapers were just tools while space kid was working on the newest solution, which isn't completed until right about when Shepard gets there, but at that point the other 2 options become viable against all odds. Hence why spacekid is pissed if you reject all the choices. He wants the Reapers to stop too.

    • @Kalaida
      @Kalaida 10 лет назад

      It doesn't matter if an assumption is close or a long shot. Assumptions are nothing more than admitting you're ignorant and don't have all the facts. And when it comes to deciding the fate of every life form in the galaxy, are you really making any legitimate argument if your path is based solely on ignorance? The writers of this game do not understand that concept that ignorance causes more destruction than knowledge.
      Here's a point where the writers blatantly put that ignorance on display. When Shepard asks Admiral Hackett what the Crucible will do, he says he doesn't know but they're going to try it anyways. He justifies this by referencing the historical event where America dropped an atomic bomb on Hiroshima even though there were fears that detonating an it could destroy the Earth. They just went ahead and used it anyway.
      That is FALSE.
      The Manhattan Project knew about this possibility and only proceeded if the chances of such an event happening was less than three out of one million. And here's the kicker. The part where the atomic bomb could destroy the atmosphere? The calculations that Edward Teller made regarding such an event missed one crucial element. Heat Loss. If the same factors were applied to say, a simple match, his research would conclude that the match would never, ever go out. So the idea of Earth's atmosphere being destroyed could only work if the atomic bomb never stopped exploding.
      So all that talk of America using the bomb even though they didn't know what it would do, even potentially destroying the world is complete and utter nonsense. But leave it to the writers of Mass Effect 3 to base their characters' motivation around it.
      This should be proof that the writers were incapable of understanding their own story.

    Dear Angry Joe,no offense,but now at this moment,I'm more angry with you than with Bioware itself.Your over-enthusiast about this trilogy made me buy it,the first time when I have seen it on my favorite media-store,the PC version of it.I was so naive when I thought that being sold as a trilogy,it will be not mutilated any more,by the so lame "DLC"excuse.Especially the crucial ones,"Shadow Broker's lair","Arrival"and "Leviathan".I have never heard before about the so called"non-mutilated "collector's edition".That never happened before with other games,such as "Batman Arkham City Game of the year edition","Deus Ex Human Revolution Director's cut edition"or " Dishonored game of the year edition".That "D.L.C." practice,to sale mutilated games hasn't any other excuse than the pure petty greed.Claiming that they are collaterals to the main story,it's just saying that you are selling uncompleted products.I cannot even imagine a G.T.A. game in which each of the side story it would be sold in a separate D.L.C.,can you!? Fortunately I'm an incorrigible optimistic person,and I'm sure than this so repulsive habit will finally end in a near future,and they will sell complete games even from the beginning,and what it's now considered "D.L.C.'would be sold as stand alone games,either sequels,prequels or just collaterals.Being forced to buy a "D.L.C.'in order to truly live the experience of a game,it's similar to buying a car,and once onto a highway to realize that you cannot break,because the breaks are sold only through a "D.L.C."xD.

    To each is own. The beginning of ME3 is hardly one of the biggest reasons why it's not up to par.
    I liked the kid, actually. Shepard is painted as a hero with no fear and a perfect stoic for the entire series, no matter what your alignment is. And it's a nice change of pace for character development when Shepard sees innocents dying on the homeworld of all humans; slaughtered by the very thing he's fighting to stop. It's natural that he'd be shaken up, and be haunted by that memory.

    Obviously the stop of the reapers in ME1 was a temporary measure. But the idea was to give us a chance, to allow us to prepare for war and most importantly to hit the reapers on one of their strong arguments... That in fact was emphasized throughout the game, and that´s the reason of that suicide attack from Sovereign. Then ME3 arrived, the reapers arrived in less than 3 years, the reapers took control of the citadel as they see fit and they are not even frayed with the travel...
