I recently played third horn for the fourth movement of this symphony for the NMEA All-State orchestra, and the part where it recaps this section was by far the hardest part. There were other parts of the movement that had harder fingerings, and higher notes to play, but for this section, all eight of us had to be completely locked in together and breathe and articulate exactly together or else it sounds bad. As well as not falling flat on that Eb since you have to hold it for so long and not fall flat. Tchaik 4 mvt 4 is probably my favorite thing that I have played to date in a concert setting. You made this sound so easy. Great job!
hey i was in the 2nd violin section for this you guys in the brass sounded amazing during that! it was a lot of fun and I was also on the verge of killing my left hand
@@RD-db7pi thanks!! It was so fun playing with you! Performing that piece was probably my favorite musical experience so far! It doesn’t surprise me about your wrist lmao. Yall had a million notes in that piece and I can hear every one in the recording!
I enjoy all of ur videos. I play the tuba. I spend time each day playing Wouldn't it be wonderful for the world if everyone had learned to play something. Non musicians have no idea how completely exciting and fun it is . Isn't sad that most people don't have this in their lives? I'm not saying that anyone can attain ur level of expertise. The time spent trying to learn something as beautiful would be a life well lived. You rock.
Did you ever see the Chicago live recording and the Bb fingerings Clevenger used on staff G. I believe he plays almost all in Bb Horn side. The camera is right on his hands of the hotn cool shot!!
I take horn lessons with one of dales former students, this is definitely something he did and tought, it’s very helpful to know both sides of the instrument thoroughly
Who needs Trumpets when you can just add more Horns

French horn makes me jealous as a trombone and I was originally gonna choose it and ig I'll get one on my own and learn
The high part 😂 nice
excellent work
Nice done! Cool adding the low part. (Tuba?)
Overtones go crazy
Tschaikowski Чайковский
The surname Tchaikovsky came from the name of the village of Chaika.
😍👏👏👏
Help I’m scared for the all state auditions this year because we have to use vibrato
Vibrato is not required in horn playing generally, so I don’t think it’s required in the all state auditions. Where are you hearing it is required?
What about the excerpt at U? I’m a percussionist and the Timp part at S-U is one of my favorite in all of music
Straight
My flex is I played this as a freshman in college(yes I did play 4th horn with the worst low range skills to ever exist😂)
What happens if you push both triggers?
