Mommy Long Legs is enraged at the player for cheating through her games, and a chance sequence initiates between her and the player. Resulting in her death as well. The player then finds Poppy safe and escape the game station in a train with her.

The thing that really fucked me up about her death was the fact that she was obviously feeling the pain and knew she was probably going to die but she was MORE terrified of this new mysterious "He" and what "he" was going to do to her. That immediately gave this new character a horrifying reputation especially when he was basically right there to grab her once she was dead without wasting time which to me makes me think he had been watching this whole thing just WAITING for her to die.
(Edit 2024: Just so people arent confused anymore, I AM up to date with these games and am well aware that the "He" is the prototype now, thanks lol)
Surprising how nobody else but you pointed this out, the fact that such a scary killer when being crushed to death is more scared of being used by whoever she's talking about than her own death is crazy

Like fr that's just such a great build up to the character, she isn't even scared of the fact that she'll die, she's just scared of being a part of whatever kinda abomination 1006 is which implies the fact that she has indeed seen him and his form
Part of me thinks we’re going to die here no matter what. So we might as well stop whatever bad things are happening here as Poppy says. Whoever our character is, isn’t relevant it seems. I don’t think Poppy sees us as a tool or something like that, she just needs our help to fix everything (although she could tone down the creepiness a little-).

With the protagonist:
1. We’re either someone important to the plot for later, being vague for lore purposes.
2. We’re just a self-insert, nameless protagonist that’s a part of the story, but not the center. Which being honest I would like more as it’s more interesting.
Though, we haven’t seen Huggie’s body yet…. Either he’s a part of him already or still alive.

The thing that disturbed me the most about the death scene was the fact that when Mommy Long Legs' torso got caught in the crusher, blood came off of it. It makes me wonder if there was actually a bit of human in that plastic casing.

The same thing happened to Huggy when he fell down because the crate just kinda crushed the bridge and he hit his head or something on the pipes. So it does make you wonder if the life-size toys have actual people in them. Another interesting thing Mommy Longlegs says before she dies is "he'll make me part of him" meaning either the hand is now a part of her, or something or someone else is planning to do something with the toys once they're dead.
4:05 A lot of people were scared that Mommy Long Legs was going to turn on the incinerator to burn us alive but she can't possibly do that because she doesn't have the green hand.
Little thing I noticed: At 0:18 her right hand looks normal at first, but when mommy starts getting more twisted her fingers extend. Nice detail.
Also the way she rips right through that pipe on the right, in expressing her anger at cheaters. Such immense strength!
After seeing the way she acted here, it is hard to believe that, according to the games lore, that she was basically a mom gor the orphaned kids experimented on, and had such a passion for raising them to the point where children were the only thing keeping her sane, and she would act in anyway but like this.
When you take a look at her notes, she actually doesn't like staff workers.

@@FennekinLover-ko6nd I have a theory that Mommy doesn't like the employees because they didn't continue to create her 'family' which includes Daddy Long Legs and their son, in one poster. And she have been so lonely that she started to go insane and bitter.

If you look at her information chart, you see "Subject: Marie Payne," which is assumadly the employee that was used in the Mommy Long Legs experiment. That would also explain why she thinks the player deserves to die. We used to work for Playtime Co., and to Mommy, that automatically means that you were involved in conducting the experiments, like experiment 1006, and experiment 1170 (Huggy Wuggy).

What's darkest to me is how she almost manages to escape by ripping her arm off but then gets her leg caught in the process. Imagine freeing yourself from death and then immediately becoming trapped again in panic.
the only reason she died was because she put her foot in the wrong place at the wrong time. that's just a sad way to go

She could also have very easily reached over and pull the lever up to stop the shredder. She could stretch her limbs for hundreds of feet. So it be trouble for her to reach and flip the switch.

One of the scariest things about this game is that every time you think you're about to get chased down, nothing happens. It's only until you let your guard down when they strike.
i think what disturbed me the most about her death was when she said “don’t make me part of him”, as mommy long legs could possibly be referring to the prototype, exp 1006, and don’t make me part of him is quite a vague description, part of him? what does he do with the remaining parts of a dead toy?! can’t wait for future chapters to find out more.
Exp 1006 to some people is the hand that Grabs Mommy's dead remains and drags her away. Seems to be some robot but also made out of human bones for the lower part of the arm.

I love how at 5:46 she turns her head to the grinder like "wait what the hell" and then she just gets her lower half decimated. Damn that honestly was one of the most gruesome deaths I've ever seen man I honestly felt bad for her having to die that way but she was insane as hell so I don't feel too much sympathy but I feel a little.

Man this line really hits hard because the player technically did. They skipped level 5 for musical memory, and went out of bounds during statues. Mommy wasn’t wrong and all, but she really tried to get us killed by MAKING the mini-games almost impossible. The voice actor for Mommy deserves 10 raises by next week.
Though it wasn't MC's fault for cheating, he had no other choice since mommy made musical memory an unwinnable game, I see your point tho

Everybody do be giving credit to the creators and voice actors/actresses, but y'all don't understand how good the video game composer made the music sounding so wrong but still making sense to your ears that it gives you chills, he could've went for something like a very dark cinematic but instead went for a more disturbing style which honestly is very risky if you're not creative, so great job on the music side.
Thought this was curious and so I think it's worth mentioning. When Mommy jumps down from the ceiling she's pretty upset at us. But after a couple seconds her eyes dilate and she takes on this strange serenity. She stops jittering, her movements become very slow and methodical. And until she's literally caught in a grinder, she also doesn't say a single word beyond that point despite being so passionate beforehand.
Huggy Wuggy was exactly the same.
I've always found it weird that we meet Huggy at the start of Chapter 1 and he doesn't attack us on sight. It's quite obviously the same one that does later since he goes missing after a while, so why isn't he moving then? I can't imagine he'd pretend to be inanimate for no reason. Maybe after meeting him he experienced a mental break or disillusive realization similar to Mommy here? I don't have a theory, a hypothesis would be more accurate... Just thought the parallels were interesting.

That death must of been terrifying for her seeing as she was human before being experimented on so underneath all the plastic would be bones blood and other organs all being slowly crushed. That’s why this death is so scary because you don’t die quickly it’s slow and painful and the more you struggle the more entangled you become.

I kinda feel like our character isn't meant to escape, but to uncover what's been happening here. Poppy isn't being malicious in keeping us here, because like in the death screens "This isn't about you."

I noticed something: Every time there is a chase scene in a chapter the monster's become more psychotic and lose all sense of "humanity" in them then they begin to pursue you and they go on a bloodlust Huggy Wuggy's teeth coming out Mommy long leg's eyes becoming dilated it's something that makes them snap and truly become "monsters".

Makes me wonder if “hide and seek” is actually not a game but some kind of protocol the creators installed in her mind for when children who passed all the other games needed to be “taken” and made into toys. Could explain why hiding is only in 2 parts of the game and beyond running at you she dosent seem to stop and look anywhere

Seriously the expressions and animation is jaw dropping

The drama isn't from the game itself as it is very good, the drama stems more into the publisher of this game's shadiness

I like how this game really plays well with liminal space. The idea of being in transition to an area that feels like it should be something but isn’t. The long hallways with broken down infrastructure gives the idea that something isn’t right. What makes it better is that the monsters within the game are terrifying creations. A small problem I have with the backrooms is that the monster looks very stick figure ish, but the screams it makes makes it up for it. But here, the monsters are terrifying even to look at.
the backrooms has alot of entities, not just howlers, from dark pale entities that make you sleep to death if you sleep o a odd level, or a person that steals your skin, or carnivore butterflies that are bigger than you, to even you becoming the monster because you go insane

The way that they were design makes it look like the creator made a stick figure and made it very child-like. Like a child could have come up with that. I would have preferred a more fourth dimensional creature with glitching properties to really sell on the idea that this is an area of the world you were not suppose to see at all. But I am warming up to the monsters of the Backrooms haha. Does screams are terrifying.

@@bmobutdope9316 not necessarily. She has long and almost un-natural length and proportions because she’s suppose to resemble a daddy king legs spider. Also if she was, then they did great job doing so. Now, i’m not attacking the BackRooms. It is a great concept. I like how it’s getting more attention because the hole idea of liminal space deserves more love and attention. However, The monster that we saw, looked like a drawing done by a child. However, as the series goes on, i am appreciating all of the howlers unique qualities. The screams, the inhuman run, and even the idea that these monsters could be the victims who were turned into monsters, all add to a terrifying experience.

I honestly feel bad for Mommy Long Legs.
Even though she threatened us and scared the absolute daylights out of us, all she wanted was to watch us play the games, since she didn't have any other children to keep her calm.
She wasn't maliciously chasing us down just to kill us, like Huggy Wuggy, but she ended up doing so when we cheated out of the Statue Game. And yes she wanted us dead at the end of the Statue Game, but the way she speaks to us and how hostile she is to us, it sounds like the character had some impact in the shut down of the Factory that ended up with Mommy Long Leg's anger and insanity.

@@ballownfist3497 She must have known we'd pass them, especially in Musical Memory, when the game literally had a shut down button for us to press.
Also a document on her stated that she needed to interact with children to sustain her aggression towards any of the adult workers, so she basically went insane by the time we came across with her.

@@ParkRanger2000 I don't really agree here. In a document it says she has an aggresion towards staff, which progressively got worse. Since our character is an ex-staff, she probably blames us for her misery. Im certain she wanted us dead. Even some of her dialogue says so.

I got a feeling this series is far from over.
But several things have stood out. 1 nobody knows the name or identity of the former employee who returned to the factory, 2 it is not known what happened to the other former employees, 3 nobody can explain why huggy, poppy, and mommy long legs are alive, 4 and probably the most important, when mommy long legs was near death she said “you’ll make me apart of him” him who?, remains to be seen. Or is poppy, the one who’s the center of all evil and the one who is controlling all of this. Will these be answered in part 3?, if there is a part 3?, we’ll just have to wait

Her jumpscare will always say "ONE!" regardless of where you get caught. That's the whole reason why she left out at 2 when she is counting down. She'll count to one to finish you off.

Since the new gameplay trailer is out, I will talk about this. First of all is him aka the prototype. I theorize he’s building the strange amalgamate or statue for some strange and evil purpose. We know that Kissy missy and Poppy isn’t evil and they just need you to stop the prototype. Anyways, catnap already looks terrifying and I can’t wait to see more horrors that await.
