@ACRfalconry seriously I've watched all ur videos and a few I've watched a few times . Been checking in weekly to see any updates can't wait to see what's coming
So I'm putting this out there for any falconers to comment. How do you manage rusk in the field when it comes to wild raptors? This season, I've rarely been able to slip my birds before I see a wild redtails hovering overhead and on a couple of occasions I've had some close calls. Usually they're gone by now, but all through the fall while trying to trap one here in southwestern Ontario I saw none. They all showed up mid December and appear to be wintering here. With the changing climate I wonder if this may become the new normal. It presents challenges. Curious to know what others do.
I've always struggled with wild birds hunting our spots but I've been lucky so far as my birds using push them away and come back to me. I always just try to be close by and that seems to help stop any attacks that might happen. I'm really going to need to be aware of the surroundings when I start hunting with kestrel.
@@ACRfalconry I guess a difference is you fly wild capture birds who are more savvy and possibly bolder. I've only ever flown captive bred birds and they seem to get spooked. The other day a RT put the chase on my Ferruginous hawk and he went running for cover. Scared the *@#& out of me.
Super glad to see a video
I have lots planned for this year.
