I'm disabled and I'm the largest paper weight in the world. If I could walk I would be living like you two. I think you both are freaking rock stars. Cinematic quality is the best on RUclips. I know I watch RUclips day and night, and nobody comes even close to you video you create.
I have health issues too and so I surf RUclips Premium for ~10 to 20 hours per day. I don't own a TV. I have my gaming PC that does all other PC functions too. I agree the video here @ Simple Living Alaska is like 1440p when it is actually 1080p and because I run 1440p I realllly enjoy that setting but the 1080p is so good too. As for content I'm a bit starved. I follow 16 RUclips Premium Channels and that keeps me moderately busy but I watched them all and I am doing re-runs of all of them again. I really enjoyed the Outdoor Boys and Truck House Life. Any recommendations for new content that I can watch
I watch lots of ALASKA homesteaders, but you two set the bar for honest and creative off-grid homesteading! Thank you for sharing your life. I look forward to every video.
Yes in deed!!!
Ditto for me but nothing better than Arielle & Eric‼️
For sure ❤
Truth.
I agree
Eric & Arielle, your work is never done but you sure do know how to live! Love the beauty of your area and how you share it with us. Thanks for taking us with you! You are a breath of fresh air! Absolutely love your posts and your culinary celebrations! See you next week! Stay safe, stay warm! ❤
😮
👌👌👌👍👍👏🏻👏🏻u have written it so well ,words taken frm my mind for aerial & Eric ❤❤❤❤
We love u guys ,I wait for ur videos every week 😊😊😊😊😊
Had my heart leap to my throat when you slipped on the roof. You both work so hard in the cold. Ariel and Eric your meals are awesome to keep you going.
Very well said!
Don't know if my comment ever gets old but you both never cease to amaze me. The time ans effort you put into every day life alone but to film it all. Thank you for all you do,
Thank you 😊
My husband just said that he could watch "Simple Living Alaska" every night. You've given these two old folks so much pleasure! And, we've learned so much. Thank you over and over. Lee
My heart stopped for a minute when Eric almost slipped off the roof. So glad he didn't fall. I think your animals get the best food a human can provide haha. Really.
I know right?
They really do and look incredibly healthy
Same.
I get so happy when I see yall upload❤ beautiful life!! Keep up the good work
❤
❤
The drone sequence at the beginning was spectacular… the forest looked in black and white with the sky in colour …almost forgot to mention the moving soundtrack that complimented it so well
Ariel is quite the baker, and Eric knows his stuff about cooking, which all looked incredible! The scenery is simply amazing ❤
The opening sequence soothe the soul - I could watch an hour of that, no problem!
It is so pretty it doesn't look real. Love it
The best fed couple in Alaska.
😂 yes
Do you mean Bo and Bandit? lol
Flying medevacs in the Interior today, a little chilly. Stay warm you guys!
Thank you! You are appreciated
I'm so happy to see the wonderful diet your dogs and your cat have. It will prolong their lives. Best food ever!
Pepper was like "Um not now" Love that cat.
@@tinglelingaling6I enjoyed watching her snub that beautiful salmon her mother cooked for her … showing her true colours for all to see lol😊
The syrup dripping off the cake and the cutting board at the end was so beautiful and artistic! I love it.
I can't wait for spicy pickled eggs and fried green tomatoes. I love it when you upload that kind of stuff
Really enjoy your channel!
Hope you are staying warm!
Beautiful country up there...God is so creative!😊
Thanks for sharing!
New episode, how exciting; thank you so much. My hubby and I have been looking forward to it! Question: Have you possibly got an episode on the channel showing recipe for your flatbread? Have a great evening.
Hey Eric and Arielle! First of all Thank You for another awesome video! Your drone footage is AMAZING and your cooking and baking is just plain YUMMY! Your furbabies, Bo, Bandit and Pepper are so sweet! You have the best flock of chickens, and the amount of eggs you get is outstanding! Thank You again for sharing your off grid life with us! Until your next video ~~~ Stay safe, healthy, warm and happy! ❄️❄️⛄️
Today it was 65* with full sun and only a few kemtrails in Florida. Only 40% humidity. Great for drying laundry outside. I am so glad that others love the outdoors as much as we do, just a different climate 🥰
The style of filming with the close ups and lack of additional noise was very much appreciated. It's different from your usual style and short, but it left me wanting more. I love just 'coming along' and witnessing your day to day life in the frigid North. Very relaxing! Thanks!
Great video!!! Especially loved it when you gave the rest of the family a special meal for all their "hard work"... I have to admit that I had gotten spoiled with the longer videos you've been treating us to lately but any video from you is wonderful. Thanks so very much!!
Those Alaskan mountains and skies are gorgeous! Great introduction. Blessings dear ones🌱
That opening sequence! 😍 Such talent at capturing such a beautiful place. You two work hard, and "play" hard in your time away having fun hunting and fishing, and eat well. Looks a near perfect life plan. ❤
Beautiful opening. Arielle has come so far with videography. Incredible footage, drone, whatever they use to film!
After seeing how hard it was to build and now how difficult it is to clear the snow off, I have a feeling that many people will be turned off to building a quanzit hut. I was holding my breath while you were in the process of clearing the snow off of it. May God keep you safe.
Once they get it closed in and heated it will be a lot different.
Surely that structure can stand up to a significant snow load - why even shovel/clear it?
@@rmclogger9856 As the structure is open at both ends it doesn't have the structural strength it would have when closed in. The snow load they had is probably not a problem, but if you have the time to clear the snow, as difficult as it is, why take the risk of an end collapsing? Once it's closed in I would expect they rarely if ever need to clear it.
I love when you do drone footage, it’s so beautiful…….
From where I stay in Africa, your lifestyle is so interesting and may I say even extreme! But you tackle your days with purpose and successfully complete the routine tasks as well as noticing urgent maintenance projects that need attention eg the chimney and patio roof...
And then you always have enough energy to prepare super delicious meals for yourselves and your animals! Eric and Arielle, you are amazing👌🏻
Thanks for the beautiful scenic shots!
Awesome video! ☺ Really loved seeing the hard work in snow clearing mixed with the importance of eating well. And wow, those Alaskan views are just breathtaking! Can't wait to see more. Keep up the great work! 💚
Can't wait to watch this after my shift finishes, always a highlight of the day when the notification comes out
Awesome ❤
The joys of a metal roof surprised you didn't slide off the Quonset. I'm a painter I slid off of one of those I don't like getting on those even if there is not any snow
Hi folks waiting for your blog all week amazing work from you guys always great 👍
I don't know if you realize how truly lucky you are to have met a woman like her, let alone your true "soul mate"! I love your content and your interactions together! ❤
Frozen hair. Frozen mustache. So cold the snow squeaks. Scary snow removal. Great video!
You guys don't get appreciated enough on just how well photographed your videos are. beautiful drone work. beautiful B roll stuff. great atmospheric music choices. I'd love to see a video of someone else filming you making one of your videos. Keep up the great work
Meanwhile here is Minneapolis, it’s 40 degrees with absolutely no snow. Kind of feeling nostalgic for the cold and snow (not really). Thanks for all you do to make us feel that all is right in the world. ❤️
Pretty much the same thing here in northeastern Pennsylvania. We had a few (3" - 4") inches of snow about two weeks ago and then it got cold so it stayed white for about a week to ten days. Now it's high 30's to mid 40 degrees with typical cloudy winter skies. We live in the Susquehanna River valley at about 450 ft. above sea level so I imagine that there is snow up in the 2400 ft. mountains to our north. Winters here are definitely warmer than they used to be here in our area at least.
We hit over 100 inches this winter so far in Anchorage. This winter has been wild in Alaska.
@@Thornbeard That’s a lot of snow!! Yikes.
Love it in Minneapolis Minnesota.
Same here in northern Wisconsin, only a tiny bit of snow on the ground. I'm born & raised here & I'll be 66 in a couple of weeks. I am enjoying the reprieve from the cold & snow we usually have this time of year.
I lived in n Minnesota for a few years, watching you guys freeze your butts off brings back memories of when I was a young dog like you. As you get older that cold gets harder to deal with. Plan for that but keep on keeping on, love your channel, the drone footage is awesome.
Mmmm, livin' the good life!
In addition to loving your cooking and hunting/gathering content, I especially enjoy your stunning montages of the drone footage of the beauty of the land there. The images are so captivating and the music well chosen. I would watch your videos just for those alone. Ariel, you're a gifted photographer and videographer. And your work just keeps getting better...love, love, love it.
I agree with everything you said! I’ve been watching since long before Alaska. Their content is as good as any show on TV……and to me, even better than most.
P.S. I cook my own bread more often now because, I feel I can smell fresh bread when watching them. It’s crazy!
I know right?! Damn her for ending this one with that stunning bundt cake drizzled with maple syrup...now I'm craving pumpkin bundt cake of course! 😂 @@suseyq4559
So happy to see everyone doing so well. Nice moustache Eric! Thanks for giving us a much needed Tuesday treat. Be safe.
Hello from Kerrville Tx. Drone shots and music awesome! Then all the sounds of your every day life in the cabin awesome. Sometimes words don’t need to be spoken. Thanks for sharing your life with us!!
MY FAVORITE ALASKAN OFF GRID RUclips COUPLE!!!
😁👍🏼
Man yall work incredibly hard. God bless you both. Dinner and dessert looked delicious “for the hour ahead” lol. Stay warm ! I just love the music and scenery. Your talent exceeds most in so many ways. Glad you share
Thanks for the memories. Lived in Palmer AK 50 years ago. Old couple in North Alabama.
Good evening from Syracuse NY everyone thank you for sharing your adventures in life and the farm
All the food has my mouth watering. Great video. Thanks for sharing.
You guys are 100% my favorite channel ❤ I have so much respect for all that you do
Thank you 😊
Great video. The drone footage was amazing. Bo and Bandit dug right in to their food, Pepper was, “I’ll save it for later”.
Really like that you both cook and the meals look so good.
9:07 Love that super tall spruce, and you captured the sun dogs😍🥰
Wow I’ve followed y’all’s adventures for about 5 years now and it’s amazing how much you have grown!
In space (multiple properties) in knowledge and skill (your many projects and a couple fails) and above all the growth of your channel! I remember the 50k days. You will soon be at a million👍🏻
Y’all have earned every bit of good fortune that comes your way.
Thank you Eric for the beautiful camera work, i feel like I’m right there!
We have found something we do not like about your videos! They are over way way too quickly. Love your videos! THANK YOU FOR SHARING YOUR DAYS WITH US!
You are both amazing
A true example of "where there is a will, there is a way".
Cannot wait until you begin to "resurrect your garden".
Been looking forward to the Garden as well. Always amazed at what you can grow up there and honestly a little jealous of your bounty.
Love be the first one to like your videos....lol...tks now I must watch...been waiting for it. Much love from Blue Ridge Mtns of North Carolina.
Were it me, I would have a (maybe seasonal) unheated room outside your current cabin door. It would be somewhat of an air lock, preventing quite as much exchange of heated air and frigid air when you're entering or leaving the cabin. Not just a storm door, but like a little mud room with its own outside door. Same on the chicken coup, preventing the icing of the door to the warm and humid inside. Each time in or out you'd lose only the volume of heated air that gets into the mud room, and you'd in effect be adding insulation to the main door. Good looking meal, you two!
Eric. Arielle. OR Arielle.Eric. It doesn't matter. Please, give us an hour of just the music and scenic views! I'll pay money for it.
You have a gift.
Another amazing opening scene. Your pets are adorable.
"Eric & Ariele's Canine Geriatric Facility" squeaking a stuffy duck is a MUST for an old dude on a cold day....❤
(Love the video graphics and the FOOD, as always. Hope you guys enjoy Alaska life even half as much as it looks like you do! Be well!)
Love it!! 😆
When I watch you, I have to get under my covers and turn on my electric blanket…..I love feeling like I am in the snow with you! Yay! ❄️ ❄️
That cake looks so good.
Eric, when you can take two fish and bang them together like baseball bats, I think they are a little beyond the point of being referred to as "fresh fish". LoL
Always excited when you post a new video..love your channel. You are my favorite
Stay warm and safe.
Keep the great content coming! I watch the “Videos in Order” playlist over and over while I knit/weave/cook in the evenings. I wish all channels had one of those ❤
I love watching your drone work. In such an inhospitable landscape you've managed to make life look easy, just like any other comfortable suburban home. And then your food looks better than what you'd find in a Michelin stared restaurant. I think great youtube channels come from hard working people who love what they're doing, and you guy's have an awesome youtube channel!
A fine Alaskan day!
I really enjoy hearing pauses of silence and just hearing you work. It’s very relaxing, like asmr 😊❤
another great video, my friends . Hey, when are you guys going to do another Q&A video? I would love to know how you guys like the new place, and what, if anything, do you miss from the old place. How is your cabin fairing up river, and did the bees survive? Lol, that should get ya all started😊
I look forward to each & every one of your videos & adventures. Today's video was very short.
Even if y'all are snowed in, I know most of your viewers would be pleased, just to watch you both cook & eat.
God's blessings to you both.🥰💞
❤ so beautiful drone camera. Amazing how cold it is,open the front door when the heat hits the cold so cool. Stay warm and safe, you scared us when you were up on the roof. ❤ Alan&Maria
Out of everything and everyone I follow on here,By far I absolutely look forward to seeing every new video of yours the most,To me it’s like your favourite TV show, your waiting for the next episode, and I envy your life styles ❤
"This video is a great reminder of the beauty in every season
You guys work so hard ,, but really you seem to love what you do ,, removing the snow from your workshop really,, what with your 5 star hen coop ,, the warmth of lights in the cold night, excellent photography!! Really your videos are unique ❤️❤️❤️❤️
This channel is my happy place... the place where life makes sense. 😊❤
Great arial views of the landscape of Alaska. The work is never ending all year round. The food you prepared looks delicious. Always enjoy your videos and looking forward to the next one. That was a lot of work taking the snow off the work shop and the cabin. Take care and be safe.h(Judy NB)🇨🇦🌲
Love how the video starts out with the beautiful landscape and music.
My favorite couple, heard you guys got a bunch of snow up there, hope your staying nice warm and toasty. Keeping you two and dogs in my prayers that you have a safe winter and all goes well.🙏😊Love you!
I also need my dose of cold 🥶 . 👀forward seeing your hard work with a dose of beautiful landscape.l laughs at how much fun and excitement you two have fishing , hunting.550TX
Pets and cooking. Some of my favorite videos from you guys. I have to say the dogs, cat and chickens are some of the most lucky animals in the world. ❤
You might be right about that large overhang. At the very least it won’t hurt a thing to add some more support for the snow load. We are enjoying your 2024 calendar!
Alaska and Athens Greece so close with your excellent videos. Eric, Arielle, Thank you!!!
❤❤❤❤❤ It's extremely adorable that you guys pronounce chimney like the chimney sweep from Mary Poppins. I absolutely love it ❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you for the beautiful scenery and cozy cabin scenes! Just stunning and delicious food ideas to boot!
Gorgeous landscape shots, you live in paradise.....except for the shots of clearing off the roof! When Eric slipped my heart skipped a beat! We have the same setup with the cap on our chimney top, and ours is very tall too. Clearing off your new building roof is not for the faint of heart. That was some deep snow to dig through. You two are such a great team. Dinner looked wonderful as always.
Beau is a gentle soul
You'll never run out of project work and from the looks of all these recipes always have a tasty fireside meal!!😎🥶
The opening , a feast for the senses . Thankyou 😊
❤ you are amazing!! Thank you to bring us along your everyday life, which is really not easy. “ chapeau “ as we say in French , for all of your accomplishments! Stay strong and a wonderful 2024 garden season 😊. Big hugs from a cloudy and grey Belgium 🇧🇪
AWESOME!
A beautiful calm day in a lovely place - accomplishing ordinary but satisfying tasks as partners who compliment each other - what a perfect day!! Of course the mouth-watering food doesn't hurt at all!😊 Thank you so much for sharing such a heart-warming video! Stay safe, be happy!!❤❤
The BEST Alaskan RUclips channel, IMHO
Fantastic video as always. I could have watched this for hours. Thank you for sharing your wonderful adventures and life with us.
You do definitely work hard and eat good. You two are my absolute favorites. ❤
I think there is nothing as glorious than a rainbow made from a beautiful Alaskan sun sun setting on the glinting white snow. Never seen anything like that before and it was so beautiful!
One of the best shows on TV
I am forever bragging on you too. You truly feel like part of the family. I am so thankful that I get to watch your journey every day. I am very proud of you both. ❤❤
❤❤❤❤❤ the spot where there are icicles is the spot where you are losing heat.
Be safe and be blessed! Thanks for sharing Alaska's beauty with us!
Best music, best video, one of those, I wish I was there moments. Just beautiful guys.
As always, love your work. Two things...boil that burbot in sprite or 7-up, very close to Atlantic lobster. We used to clear arena roofs using a sheet of plywood. Make a bridle for the ply, run a line from the bridle to the tractor,. One person on the roof jams the ply into the snow and steers it as the other backs away slowly. Amazing how quick you'll get at clearing. The bottoms of the v won't get done (unless you cut that profile in the ply), but who cares, 90% of the weight is gone.
Yes--- and here you are-- good for us!!
Great video Eric & Arielle! That was some pile of snow you guys removed. Now I’m hungry. That looked so good.
Thanks for sharing!!!
Warmth inside all around. Work outside all around. Loved the drone footage. 🇳🇿
As a older retired guy it sure warms my heart to see a couple like you in your adventures of life ! God Bless !
You guys eat better than those who spend hundreds in fancy restaurants! Thanks for taking such good care of the animals! 👍🇨🇦😎💘
