- 1950's phonograph from the Fuller Brush company given to prospective Fuller Brush salesman to learn about the company and products! All of the learning material is here with the phonograph including records, filmstrips, instruction manual and film projector as well as a pull down movie screen. Most interesting piece and you know I love the oddities!
I remember the Fuller Brush Man well.
I am currently clearing out Mom's estate and there are several Fuller products hereabouts.
Interesting. Thanks for sharing!
We used to use Fuller Brush Products (also don't recall cosmetics) all the time when I was growing up. My mom, aunt & grandmother only had Fuller brushes, mops, etc..
I was home one day when the salesman came. They would visit once a year and my family always bought something.
The salesmen stopped coming, don't know why, and my family was disappointed. They had quality products.
I know this is late but... the company was sold to a corporation by the founder's son. The company went downhill from there. A lot of young people stopped buying the products after moving out of their parent's house. Don't know about cosmetics, but they did have some great skin care, such as foot balm and witch hazel lotion.
Multi-media ! really cool machine. Door to door sales has pretty much disappeared in USA. When I was a kid in the 1960s I remember them coming to the house.
What a neat piece! I love the announcer's "OldeTime" voice and diction!
I'm so fascinated by this!! I've never heard of the Fuller Brush Co. I'll have to research that. I'm so amazed that it has a projection screen built in!! Wow!! Thank You for sharing with us. I wish your Mom speedy and full recovery! XO
So did Red Skelton [for the same studio]- "The Fuller Brush Man" (1948). Try to imagine what kind of filmstrip frames were flashed during this narration...
There's an old Disney cartoon that references them as one of the Big Bad Wolf's desguises in "Three Little Pigs".
That Fuller Brush player is fantastic Tink! I really hope that your Mom bounces back from her hip injury!
As a professional carpet cleaner I am always seeking out various cleaning tools and products. I found a bunch of the Fuller wooden natural brushes about 3 1/2 x 4 1/2 inches new in the box and used them for several years! I was bummed when the last one finally wore out;(
Those once carried a lifetime guarantee.
RaymondT,
I cant believe you've never heard of Fuller Brush! Your going to find a ton of stuff about them and Lucille Ball even made a movie "The Fuller Brush Girl"
Great stuff Tink, I love it!
Pretty cool.. reminds me again of my Grandparents.
Very much like what I've seen back in the school days. Usually there would be a separate classroom record player, like an Audiotronics - sometimes a cassette tape player. I've seen at least one filmstrip projector with a built in record player. Maybe small enough to play 7-inch records.
How cool!! I love it!!! That arm looks just like the arm on my RCA transcription player! Can it play a 16 inch record and is it only 33 1/3 ? What a wonderful find!!
This is a great snapshot of a more sensible and prosperous America. With that level headed attitude and today's tech we COULD be living in a Jetsons world by now...
wow you got something from the Fuller brush brush people that started in 1920s.
awesome! hang on to that could be worth something.
I would love to see the film displayed on a screen and would strongly encourage you to present this production just as you’ve done but with the images from the two canisters.
now I know where Don Johnson came from.....awesome stuff...
What an unusual tone arm. The vinyl record plays with no surface noise. They must be in mint condition.
hi ever think about mp3s with fuller recoard
Pretty unique! However I'm worried by the distortion from the tonearm. It sounds like it's ripping the groove to death! I hope I'm wrong!
I hope your mom gets better soon!
