I really do prefer these wholesome "we're all friends here" SFMs to the "We hate each other" ones. They've been forced to work together for at least two decades. Sooner or later, you learn to appreciate the small things.
Everytime I rewatch this I find another little detail I love about it. Heavy's slow turn and shocked almost pained face as Engie realizes he could've fixed the car. The way everything in the van moves realistically all the way from the stacks of jars and the medallion thing hanging from the rear view mirror to Snipers wife and how her ear twitches. Every face is always easy to look at to with realistic movements. Like the way Sniper gives that cheeky smile after hitting the rock(possibly on purpose). Everything about the video just drips with the time and love put into making it. One smaller thing I also really love is the music choice. My favorite by far has to be the bouncy, cheerful music at the start.

Another thing, when Heavy shows Soldier how to hitchhike, soldier also copies the hand that Heavy uses to emphasize the other hand. He copied exactly what he saw instead of understanding body language. A true soldier moment.

Another detail that I didn't see mentioned here yet but that I really like. At 2:44 when heavy opens the door but gets blocked by engi, you can see Kangaroo Wife scooting over to the left instead of just "teleporting" when it cuts to the driving scene, like a lot of animations would do. Also I really hope we're gonna get an actual name for her at some point, even though soldier is probably gonna continue calling her Sniper's kangaroo wife.

The continuity is amazing. Team's eating the world's biggest sandvich from the last episode. Then they meet Sniper with his wife, who also appeared last time. And GOD I LOVE the requiem for pizza reference.

That’s what I thought, kinda loved it.
A detail I really liked: at 1:48 when the Soldier asks Heavy how to hitchhike, Heavy goes “just do this” and gestures to his hand giving a thumbs up. But at 1:56, we see that Soldier misunderstood and thought that Heavy was referring to both of his hands, so he’s holding a thumbs up while constantly gesturing to it with his other hand

I can tell this animation is beautiful as something simple like smoke particle you have to change in each frame. Each movement expression has a lot of detail and I love it.

The first milesecond i heard of that "aaaaah" in the tunnel i knew what was coming, that's brilliant mate love simple stories like yours but going wild with animation and references

It’s odd now that I think about it that others haven’t done the whole obvious reference to other sfm creatures styles and characters. Sure, we’re all got the same models, but the pizza demo is obviously THE pizza demo from a particular series.

Okay, did anyone else notice that, at 3:25, Engineer licks the roof of his mouth as if he was about to say something smart-aleccy, but then realized Soldier was right, and just kind of clicked his tongue and then went "I don't know..". Very realistic and small details like that make this even better! Lots of thought and effort went into the little things!
I love how sniper's "Kangaroo wife" started off as an insult, then Kitty made it literal, and the literal idea is being used more often.
But yeah, the attention to detail here is amazing. Lots of subtle stuff scattered throughout that would take all day to list.
You know, it's kind of a good thing Rick didn't live long enough to see what a metaphorical Pandora's Box he'd opened with that line.

Your style of animation is so unique and fluid compared to other SFM animators, I love every frame of it!
Yup, it's got interesting groundednes to it. Well, as grounded as a flower with Demoman's face and a jumping car can be. But it's definitely less random than other. More logical. Feels like an old wacky cartoon.
That's what makes his animations the best, and one of the reasons this was my favorite SFM animation channel back in the day!

This was made with love and fun, there's no other way. You cannot do something like this without passion and care for every detail.
It feels realistic, some of the details that I found was:
In 1:30: rubs the hand brake
In 3:23: Engineer moves his tongue while thinking
I loved this part, 3:16, not only Engineer forgived Soldier, but he's treating him like a bro, wholesome.

Theres also a part at the end when Engie's driving and he just sucks in his top lip, a thing I tend to do sometimes. The little details and mannerisms in this were so fucking charming

The subtle twitching of Kanga-Wife's ears is such an underappreciated detail and testament to your impeccable talent as an animator. It's that kind of petty & meticulous detailing that makes these all-the-more enjoyable.

The most impressive part of this one to me is the really nice, soft lighting. Makes the environment feel very warm and comfortable. Everyone has this nice rim lighting that makes them look almost like they're glowing (especially this short building sequence starting at 3:42). And the time of day changing really felt believable thanks to the lighting too. I also loved how the headlights looked at the end (at 3:56).
Superb work as always. Feels very slice-of-life, very casual, not something that had to be carefully thought about and planned out and then meticulously animated. Very natural.
Like the name suggest, it's just a trip with the boys.
I have a planned camping trip 2 days later so I really want to look something like this (without the.... y'know, car breaking down)

I love Soldier and Engineer's spirited dance-walk at 3:30.
The optimism they have, despite having to walk 10 miles, is something wonderful!
Almost makes it hard to believe they were trying to kill eachother in the previous episode.
I'm glad their friendship prevailed, (and that Jolly Rancher had a spare can of RED paint to put Soldier back on the team)

For some reason, I find it adorable when it's just these videos of the mercs doing everyday things like gardening, farming and going on a road trip. Celebrating the little things means a whole lot.

I nearly started crying because of the amount of sadness engie had it really shows how much detail you put into these, it looked like engie kept moving the wheel like he was imagining him still in the car and driving
Gardener Heavy reining in Engie (hold your horses, bronco. She's married!) and Soldier having a flash of brilliance really tie the skit together. Each character has their own personality, and it really makes them feel alive. Looking forward to what happens next!

That... That was freaking beautiful. The flimsy and whacky way the car moved, the happy and cartoony aura, the breaking bad reference, even that evening was incredibly detailed, or the fact that Sniper's van is full of jarate in the most scary way possible. Thank you for still making animations, you basically skyrocketed through companies with their own buildings full of people thinking and animating. I couldn't enjoy those 4 minutes more.
I'm happy to hear that you upgraded the resolution. These videos have the dignity to be watched on a tv now.
I loved the jazzy, sort of TF2-vibed cover of Gorillaz's 19-2000 and clear obvious reference to the music video, the Breaking Bad reference, the tiny details like engie licking the back of his teeth while thinking, the fact that their hats don't magically change back to their original owners after a frame change, accurate expressions, especially the part where engie is trying not to fall asleep at the wheel by leaning forward and focusing really hard. A lot of hard work is put into these animations and it shows

This is so chill and wholesome for an SFM, it's nice, honestly. Mistakes were made, but nobody holds a grudge, sniper is in a stable, supportive relationship, and then everyone goes home.
