I’ve been around this boat in its development quite a bit…all I can say is there have been a lot of people with 20+ years experience involved with this boat…so it should be a great boat
Wheeler getting away from White River/BPS is a big deal. He has been on a roll and I don't see that stopping. Good luck to him and his new venture. Can't wait to see one in person! BTW. Love the Mercury sign Andy!
Your gonna be surprised how user friendly this boat really is. Can't wait to meet yall Monday when u come to the shope and do your video it's honestly the most accessible boat on the market. Looking forward to it. See yall then. Great channel keep up the good work. Can't give anymore info on here but your gonna fall in love when u see it. There is only 8 of us putting them together so the craftsmanship is unmatched.
It only takes about 100 folks willing to pay 110+k for them to make some money I'd guess, so involving Wheeler seals the deal. These types of boats aren't for me, but for those that do buy them I hope they're built well and worth the payments.
I'm excited to see it, based on what you say I think it'd be cool for you to design a boat because I know 20 years from now people buying a used boat are going to want yours vs Johnny's because they can fix it themselves
Looks great from a fishability standpoint. What you said about being able to perform repairs should be implanted in every manufacturers brain . I’ve always wondered just how much input from fishermen really goes into the process in the past ( I would suspect not much )
Me! Hate to sell my steady, reliable, Ranger 350V but Earl has always been an icon I admired. A Friend used to race against him and always spoke highly of Mr. Bento. The same Friend helped me prop out my Johnson and showed me things I could do to go faster. I got to meet Mr. Bentz at the 2019 Classic and he remembered racing against my Friend. The old Hydrasport boats used to fly, back in the day, too.
JW being involved in it makes it a great boat because he knows what he wants and isn't afraid to do things differently. That being said, 2 years in a GatorTrax Strike there is no way I would put that much money into anything other than high performance aluminum.
Competition brings out the best. I bet it comes with a High price tag. Personally they are all out of my price range. Please make us regular Joe's a dang killer rig we can afford.
I hear people speak about pump access, and how important that is. Personally, as a fisherman, I have spent substantially more time working on batteries, both on and off the water, and have personally never had a pump to go out. I know it happens however, I would argue that easy access to working on batteries is more important than easy access to a Livewell pump, if both can be achieved in a boat design, awesome! If I had to choose, I’ll take battery access.
I've got a 90 model dynatrak I bought used in 98, the original to me bilge pumps still work. I'm with you, if they use quality pumps, access to them shouldn't be important. I like how the Falcon boats open up in the back. Whole lid, or main/ trolling side only.
Awesome!!! We'd love to know more info. Maybe we can all hop on a phone call together? Email us at speedmoneynobrakes@gmail.com if you and your buddy are interested. Thanks
Good to see another brand coming in to shake things up . Wish someone would bring the beam further forward before shutting it off . Bass boats shouldn’t be so pointy in the front . I prefer they way champion did the front of the boat on their wide body boats .
I saw him coming through dawsonville ga yesterday! I couldn't mistake the truck but I was confused by the boat. Didn't look like a triton so this makes sense now kinda looked like a vexus but hard to tell from 300 ft just saw a black boat. Very cool!!!
Would love to see a video with Wheeler similar to what you did with Gambler last year. I am going to link this video on his FB page, tell him to give you an interview. Maybe if enough of us did that, might would help. Merry Christmas!!!!
My GT Strike is extremely accessible for random work and repairs. I can touch and see every inch in the rear. Small main access, but the sides open and pull out- essentially creating an entire open deck.
@Terry Ogletree yep... once you've owned a couple of boats and know HOW you like to fish. You can tell Kent I want these boxes this size, these this size. I need a cooler here, a single or double well here. Oh shit handles, you betcha. More this less that. You betcha. Weld that shit up tight !!! And one thing for certain is that docks, logs, pilings, floating debris, drifting boats, and anything else that would destroy a nice glass boat likely won't do more than scuff the paint on a Strike.
I think in the next few years you going to see a couple of these boat manufactures vanish. Bass boats prices continue to climb at an amazing speed. The more options you pile in the the more they are. The average Joe isn't going to be able to shell out 100K+ for a boat and another 80 for a truck. Only the smart will survive!
You know what would be a awesome video. Your opinion on older bass boats (1980 plus Rangers.Sketters.Chanpions, etc) that could be repowered with a new Mercury Yamaha or Suzuki. There are lots of people like me who want a good fiberglass boat with reliable motors who just want to fish.
I lived in Florida and fished in Florida ok. Wheeler is in Florida with a video I saw of his ok. This boat Resembles a flats/ bay boat in Florida most were 18-21 foot long 150-300hp engines big front deck like a flats boat have. Without the poling platform you have tons of room in back.I wonder how it will be in the chop. If he put any design of a mini bay boat this should be nice in chop
Damn. I have been fishing out of one of the last Hydra Sports bass boats ever made since 1998. Love my boat by bought a new Bass Cat this year. Lot's of things I like about my HS. If I would have known about this I would have held off for another year. Now I have to sell the 'ol Hydra Sports. I'll miss that boat.
People are going to say the front deck is weird shaped and what not because he stretched the sides out. For me that means more room. I've personally never fished in a boat and thought, man I wish this deck was smaller. I like the concept behind the huge deck, with the appropriate amount of storage under it as well. Time will tell just how good of a product it is and the build quality.
They sure did not design it for that new BRP motor did they? Looks good from the top, wide where it needs to be wide out. Can't wait to see this thing in it full view.
Not a Wheeler fan however this is a great business decision on his part. The Flat brimmed hat wearing googan bait throwers will buy them up like mad! Again if you want a huge deck and an awesome riding boat buy a Falcon! I can lay in every front compartment on a Falcon and then some and it’s made by veteran boat industry builders.
Jacob has his name on a reel and a rod series made by Duckett. I dont here to much about the success of those products. I am curious how much input he really has on a certain product or any other professional angler. There is so many people involved with making the product. Can we, the consumer, really associate Jacob or any other professional angler to the reputation of the product? You guys know alot more than I do about this. I was curious is there any other professsional anglers who have done something like this before and the boat was as good as the angler? I am also curious if any angler has been hurt by a product not turning out as successfully. Enjoyed the video. I am a big fan of Jacob Wheeler.
Large front deck and small back deck is a huge plus for touring pros. Most circuits are not team tournaments, and no need for those options. This boat will cater to a single touring pro, BASS Elites, MLF, ect
Merry Christmas always interesting boats are so expensive nowadays . I’ll just stick with my 20 year old Champion 206 will be fishing The Toyota series this year I can keep up with all those new boats !!😊
Awesome video as usual. I am not familiar with this boat but it looks like a boat too rich for my blood. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family. God bless.
Boat looks cool! Interesting that most of the events in MLF seems like they don’t use there own boats. The elites would be a better platform to get it seen. Just my opinion though. Love the videos and your insight! Merry Christmas!
Agree with Andy, engineering is always over educated and lack of common sense in about everything mechanical. Never think of the next guy wrenching. Boat has different look but it's nice to see a shake up from time to time. The deck looks as big as a Bass Cat Jaguar. I hope it does well. Thanks Andy
I wish someone would just build a new legend v20. That seems like the perfect bass boat to me, but I really don't want a used boat. Blazers are nice, but poorly laid out, and there isn't a falcon dealer within 5 hours of me.
Not excited. Glad new options are out, but new boats don’t have history like Bass Cat. You mention Jim, nice boat but they just need some tweaks. Just like ballistic, bass cat builds for customers to service and more importantly the service from the manufacturer should be one of the most important. Go to a bass cat OI, impressive
@@makeithappen8473 well that doesn't really matter. Was that boat empty and your full of fuel, tackle and everything else. No an eyra with a 250 is a upper 70 / lower 80 boat in the right setup. He could have designed his own boat with Gator Trax that would have been his last boat for a long time , he'll probably replace this boat after the first or second year
A Hundred thousand dollar bass boat is not consumer friendly by any stretch. Things have gotten out of hand. The average consumer is stuck with a Bass Tracker aluminum style boat ,which are completely fine if thats what you want. Jacob is a great guy. I’ve ran into him a couple of times on the water and he is very friendly
Just surprised JW didn’t try to purchase the Legend boat design, that would’ve set the fishing world on fire because he really loved that boat
More to come can't wait...
The transom design looks like it took cues from the mid 90s astro/procraft boats. I'm liking it. Deck size looks similar to a 209 gambler.

All we need is the ride of a Phoenix, performance of gambler, build quality of a basscat
That flair in the front deck ahead of the console might also mean a dryer ride, limiting spray.
