You know that Lelouch didn't die, do you? ;-) Just watch the original japanese ending on RUclips, and read some explanations of the ending. The producers cut out a very important detail at the end for the international versions.
Trafalgar Law These are not lies. You can briefly see him smiling in the original ending. How is that a lie, if the producers actually made that scene? Goro Taniguchi stated that they cut out that part in the DVD and international releases, because he wanted the people to think for themselves whether Lelouch died or not. In fact, the name of the series only makes sense if he survives. He acquired "Code Geass" at the end. He has the Code from Charles and the Geass from CC (or Shizuku). Nunally saw his memories at the end because he was severely injured and had a Code. The same thing happened with CC when she was injured by Suzaku and Lelouch saw her memories. CC says something like "You gave another person a Geass, and thus..." at the end. You can only give a Geass to someone if you have a a Code, which makes you invincible. The sentence should end like "... thus you become invincible." She talked to Lelouch at the end. That was not because she talked to herself, thinking about him. Rather, she talked to the guy who drove the cart, Lelouch himself. Just type in Code Geass original japanese ending on RUclips, if you don't believe it. And don't say it's a fake, because it isn't.
Even if he's alive it's kind of a sacrifice because no one in the whole world must know it so he will never see his friends or Nanaly again and is condemmned to live eternally.
Vivi Orunitia Well it's better if he dies... How can he be living after all he's done? It's just such a nice ending. Bearing the sins of the world in one person and banish the sins by sacrificing. A Masterpiece of mind games to teach the humanity.
Trafalgar Law JoniWan77 Nudist beach splendid naked officer Vivi Orunitia He is alive...but dead to the world...it's not about his death...it's about what his death symbolizes.
This was a beautiful story, I feel bad for Nunnally and Lelouch being permanently separated now, but I like to think he's with Euphy and Shirley waiting for Nunnally to one day join them.
I really love how, even though this anime came out years back people still talk about it in a very excited way. This is another anime that stands in a league of its own. I wish they would make more just one more season ! just the thought of it makes me what to destroy something!
Honestly I think that him being dead is the best ending there could have been and believing he lives or whatever just makes it less good. thats just my opinion though
Yeah, I agree. As much as I would have liked to see a happier ending, the ending that we got fits the series perfectly, and if lelouch didn't die then it would have lessened the effect it had, and make the death seem like more of a scam to get out of being hated by everyone.
Skyluv101 Um.... If he survived, it would have the Zero Requiem would have the exact same effect. He is dead to the world, dead to everyone, and a forever hated figure in history, his hidden survival would change none of that. How would it be a scam? He intentionally made himself hated in the first place?
sorry to disappoint you but the last second before the credits beg to differ. Although you can't tell if its exactly lelocuh sitting at the front of the cart and you can assume that c2 is talking to the sky, when she says "right lelouch?" she turn her head slightly towards the person at the front of the cart. Its not confirmed but i don't think its an accident ethier
@Crypto Helper original series too. CC is with Lelouch, he pulled the greatest plan. Most people with material mindset think death is the worst punishment, but death is an escape from responsibility. Lelouch is King and has the power of the King, so knows he has responsibility for the world. Just like in real life 90% of people who watched Code Geass think Lelouch is dead while only few know the true fate of Lelouch.
Code geass, the story of a forgotten prince who become evil for the sake of his sister and the peace of the world. Even the countless betrayals he receive from the people he will save from the never-ending war. A really magnificent person is this prince. 👑
When I watched this anime back in 2013, I was not a type of person who would get emotional over fictional story. But after ending code geass and suddenly tears were sliding down from my eyes, I could not stop crying. This might seem weird or people won't believe me but code geass changed me made me a more of a sympathetic person.
the greatest heroes give their everything for the sake of others Lelouch was the only one who knew what everything truly meant. not just his life, but also his future, his destiny, and his history. no one will ever be thankful to him and everyone will hate him, but he did what no one else could. he brought about the era of peace in a world of war.
+Magda Fachada 2 seasons, both 25 episodes and yes it's totally worth it. I got spoiled a lot myself and I kept watching. It is absolutely amazing, I guarantee.
Can we just talk about that moment when Nunnally was crying and screaming in grief meanwhile everyone else was chanting "ZERO! ZERO! ZERO! ZERO!" and this music turned up in the background? This music is enough to make my hair stand on end as I'm about to cry, if I wasn't dead inside emotionally when I watched that show due to depression and also the previous sadness, this would've been the straw that broke the camel's back and make start bawling
+Lolo Stinkt even though he is shown at the end with C.2 on the wagon is still cry because of what he sacrificed and how in the end he was all alone and people thought of him as a monster and yet he was doing it for japan and especially nanaully and she goes against him and calls him a monster. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. NOOOOOO! One of the best animes, forever marked in my mind, a wonderful story, could never forget; but let the series die. It had a fantastic ending, no need to try and continue something with such an amazing conclusion.
Code geass is genius...throughout the anime you just dont know how you feel about lelouch...is he the evil tyrant who plays with others' emotions and should be loathed or is he a hero who wants to change the world...and then there's the ending that leaves you in tears, makes everything clear and leaves lelouch dying as a legend and hero.

1:43 gets me every time, when Kallen looks at the picture of Lelouch back when they were students, back when Lelouch has no Geass and there wasn't any Zero. He was only 17 when the series began. Now 50 episodes, two seasons and a year in the show he's dead. They've been through so much since the beginning untik the end. It always reminds me of the beginning of the first episode and makes me wonder what they were like before the season began. So nostalgic! 😫😭
he's no confusion !!! in fact . he's a great and strong person .. he carried all the burden by himself .. just to make a perfect world for Nunnally .. he sacrificed himself, his reputation, his name... !!!!
Not for me either, i loved Light and Lelouch ... Both are men, who follow their dreams. And although Light died, he left in the end a world without violence and war, created by him. If Near is not stupid, he tells nobody that Kira died.
while i will agree with you guys on those 2 being great characters, you should read akumetsu (one man, one kill) and try to remember lelouchs words(kill only those who are prepared to kill). both lelouch and light have committed atrocities that cannot be forigiven.
for some reason, this anime prepare my heart for anything till today for any hardship and failure in life, remember how lelouch lead his life make me capable to through everything then... this song comes as a medium to cry, relieving any pain and emotion.... There is an angel in my speakers. Watch the live video for this, she can sing it live just as good as this, and not lipsyncing! Her ethereal voice soars across the oceans of time for all eternity.
CG was not really inspired by DN. According to what the screenwriter said, the basic frame of this story was developed about 10~20 years in his mind. There wasn't any Knightmare in the origin version, and it didn't even take place in the sub-future setting world. However, after he worked with and discuss with the director and the studio(Sunrise, the studio which made Gundam series), they decided to add some interesting features to the show. As the result, here comes a masterpiece.
sometimes it sounds like this God bless our King t’wards a bright day Let us wish in your triumph In this darkest night, in this moment’s time/nigh Can you still be in sheer disarray? To the minute away, to the moment tonight Can you share it to me and claim your/my world. (repeat) Nananananananana To your day in my new era Nananananananana Till your day in my new wide world Do it tonight, let this war end tonight Can you still be in sheer disarray? Do it tonight, let this war end tonight Can you still be in sheer disarray? With this time…

These are not lies.
I'm awake,I'm alive and I love this song
No you're not!
Believe me, I'm alive...
Lelouch li Britannia All hail Lelouch ! the holder of both Code and Geass !
It really is obvious that Lelouch survived, he is dead to the world, dead to pretty much everyone but C.C, but he is definitely alive.
Hi
Hitomi literally has the voice of an angel!! It's so pretty and soothing~
what's her her full name?how do I search her songs?
This was a beautiful story, I feel bad for Nunnally and Lelouch being permanently separated now, but I like to think he's with Euphy and Shirley waiting for Nunnally to one day join them.
tru
rippingtons60 nah he with c.c and they making some children
rippingtons60 hahaha sadly to tell you lelouch still alive traveling with C2
+💎XxLaChrisTallxX💎 What the fuck.
SEASON 3 LELOUCH ALIVE?¿?¿?¿
I really love how, even though this anime came out years back people still talk about it in a very excited way. This is another anime that stands in a league of its own. I wish they would make more just one more season ! just the thought of it makes me what to destroy something!
I hereby declare this OST as my most favourite OST ever.
Its not confirmed but i don't think its an accident ethier
oleg kuvsincikov
sorry to disappoint you, but the director of Code Geass has confirmed that Lelouch died.
Yeah, go read that interview again. Never stated Lelouch's death.
i like the way lelouch die.
he died with no regrets. :')
He still living to keep the promise he has with CC, thats the beautiful part too
@Crypto Helper original series too.
@Crypto Helper no im talking about the original anime. You think he died but really he lived. Lord Jeremiah knows.
@Crypto Helper developer says new code geass is unrelated to the original series and is an alternate universe.
@@leolee8445 that's just a theory but that's possible. He maybe got the code of his father.
Code geass, the story of a forgotten prince who become evil for the sake of his sister and the peace of the world. Even the countless betrayals he receive from the people he will save from the never-ending war. A really magnificent person is this prince. 👑
My favorite Code Geass OST ♥ ♥ ♥
Shinobu vi Britannia like cuz shinobu. why not
tApja Meanwhile it is not longer my favourite Code Geass OST. My opinion has changed. My new favourite Code Geass OST is ''Stories''.
Shit, here come the waterworks
Roronoa Zoro I still think Lelouche is still alive, hopefully he is 😢
The time you realize, you never gonna watch such a masterpiece again in your lifetime.
When I watched this anime back in 2013, I was not a type of person who would get emotional over fictional story. But after ending code geass and suddenly tears were sliding down from my eyes, I could not stop crying.
This might seem weird or people won't believe me but code geass changed me made me a more of a sympathetic person.
the greatest heroes give their everything for the sake of others
Lelouch was the only one who knew what everything truly meant. not just his life, but also his future, his destiny, and his history. no one will ever be thankful to him and everyone will hate him, but he did what no one else could. he brought about the era of peace in a world of war.
my kokoro just brokoko ;A;
He lives on in out hearts, so honestly, what else really matters?
I swear I tell myself this always but it doesn't feel right man
I never watched this anime and I got several times spoiled. How long is it and is it worth it, even after I got spoiled?
+Magda Fachada 2 seasons, both 25 episodes and yes it's totally worth it. I got spoiled a lot myself and I kept watching. It is absolutely amazing, I guarantee.
+Alles Alles Thanks!!! I hope I have time to watch it soon :)
+gamer123579 He also lives on physically, because of what he did to charles.
Prepare for the feels trip
+cotxe11 but i m on feelchair
Gio Kise are you still have tears left?
***** any idea when?
ayyyy Riptide :)
Hi johan
Can we just talk about that moment when Nunnally was crying and screaming in grief meanwhile everyone else was chanting "ZERO! ZERO! ZERO! ZERO!" and this music turned up in the background? This music is enough to make my hair stand on end as I'm about to cry, if I wasn't dead inside emotionally when I watched that show due to depression and also the previous sadness, this would've been the straw that broke the camel's back and make start bawling
It's been 10 whole years, still this song is loved so much. Code geass will always have the greatest ending ever😭😭❤️
Lelouch is the real embodiement of what a king, a ruler and a hero should be
1:04 you can hear nunnally screams in the background

This song is like a river stream in summer enlightened by the sun ray. Refreshing and magnificent.

it's been 3 years and I still can't get over it
It's been 8 years for me and I'm still not over it 😭
+Azra Aiman relax he is still alive :^)
+Lolo Stinkt even though he is shown at the end with C.2 on the wagon is still cry because of what he sacrificed and how in the end he was all alone and people thought of him as a monster and yet he was doing it for japan and especially nanaully and she goes against him and calls him a monster. THE FEELS
"Let's meet again someday." -- Code Geass R3
LOL, for all this years, 14 years exactly, this song still give me chills and bring back memories when Lelouch in cold :')
Code Geass, .this is one of the best anime i've been watch
. .and also mArked in my minD. .such a wonderful story. .i would never forget this one. .please continue the r3. .
Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes.
Everytime i feel goosebumps when i hear it. Damn it
ALL HAIL LELOUCH....THIS IS YOUR TRIUMPH YOUR MAJESTY...
still getting the chills when listening to this song
Best anime ending ever!!
DONT CRY DONT CRY DONT CRY... fuck ;_;
this song makes me cry and sad like a baby
The best anime of the last decade!
"There's so many stories where some brave hero decides to give their life to save the day, and because of their sacrifice the good guys win and the survivors all cheer and everyone lives happy ever after. But the hero never gets to see that ending. They'll never know if their sacrifice actually made a difference. They'll never know if the day was really saved. In the end, they have to have faith... Ain't that a bitch." Church, from Red Vs Blue.
Voice of an angel 🥰
1:43 gets me every time, when Kallen looks at the picture of Lelouch back when they were students, back when Lelouch has no Geass and there wasn't any Zero. He was only 17 when the series began. Now 50 episodes, two seasons and a year in the show he's dead. They've been through so much since the beginning untik the end. It always reminds me of the beginning of the first episode and makes me wonder what they were like before the season began. So nostalgic! 😫😭
i cry like a bitch everytime i remember code geass cos of what happend to shirley and lelouch
There are protagonists like Death Note's Yagami who you hate in the end, then there's Lelouch who just leaves you very confused...
he's no confusion !!! in fact . he's a great and strong person .. he carried all the burden by himself .. just to make a perfect world for Nunnally .. he sacrificed himself, his reputation, his name... !!!!
Nope not for me. I loved Lelouch throughout the entire Anime, and I cried my ass off when he died.
Not for me either, i loved Light and Lelouch ... Both are men, who follow their dreams. And although Light died, he left in the end a world without violence and war, created by him. If Near is not stupid, he tells nobody that Kira died.
I felt sorry for Light actually, gotta admire him in a way though he pissed me off.
I love Lelouch.
while i will agree with you guys on those 2 being great characters, you should read akumetsu (one man, one kill) and try to remember lelouchs words(kill only those who are prepared to kill).
both lelouch and light have committed atrocities that cannot be forigiven.
for some reason, this anime prepare my heart for anything till today
for any hardship and failure in life, remember how lelouch lead his life make me capable to through everything
then... this song comes as a medium to cry, relieving any pain and emotion....
God bless our king its a bright light day, let us worship in your triumph
This is the most beautiful and graceful song everrr why cant ppl.make more of these songs :(
There is an angel in my speakers. Watch the live video for this, she can sing it live just as good as this, and not lipsyncing! Her ethereal voice soars across the oceans of time for all eternity.
I LOVE THIS SONG! It's so beautiful to be attached to such a beautiful ending...man. It almost makes me want to cry.
Code Geass > Death Note
So true
Death note is not as good as Code Geass because CG is the kind of anime that move you to tears. Death note has lack of emotion.
I agree.
We will be able to like and support leluoch despite his ruthless methods but never in case of light.........
As the result, here comes a masterpiece.
sometimes it sounds like this
God bless our King t’wards a bright day
Let us wish in your triumph
In this darkest night, in this moment’s time/nigh
Can you still be in sheer disarray?
To the minute away, to the moment tonight
Can you share it to me and claim your/my world.
(repeat)
Nananananananana
To your day in my new era
Nananananananana
Till your day in my new wide world
Do it tonight, let this war end tonight
Can you still be in sheer disarray?
Do it tonight, let this war end tonight
Can you still be in sheer disarray?
With this time…
Wow that picture. Suzaku, the third wheel!
Are you saying that
😧😧😧😧
ALL HAIL LELOUCH!! T-T
Lelouch is coming back 2017 !!!
really? All Hail Lelouch
Jeonghan is Life Thank you verymuch :D
the song had the lines "lets meet again someday as long as we are still alive" well we are alive and cant wait for season 3
That's pretty good :)
And yet it is not here...😩😩 hope it come out this year
This song is just so gentle and kind and calm down anyone ! I just love it ! Of course I came here from code geass to show my respect to that anime and this beautiful song !
Yesssssssssssssss
0:14 "The demon, Lelouch is dead!"😢
Cornelia
This song is so beautiful.
THE FEELS!
Omg 7 years later and I'm still crying
Just when I thought I can listen to this without hurting, that flute shit at the start gets me everytime
""god bless our king, it's a light bright day ,
let us worship in your triumph ""
that's the chilling, that moment when you are realizing a genius tsundere become a martyr in the end....!!!
1:42 always gets me. I always remember Kallen looking at the picture of her brother, and then all the feels come flooding out.
Ikr.. Fucking hurt
Nothing beats this
still listening to this in 2021
He died keeping the Zero alive in people❤️
To all those people who are comparing Death Note with Code geass .....
These 2 animes are legendary . They all are best at their spot.
These 2 cant be compared. These 2 are on top always and forever.
Ya they are not even in same genre
This song is really perfect.
LELOUCH OF THE RESURRECTION
i will definitely cry over and over again hearing this song
Ahah same bro
