- Developing of the Palestine Educational TV Channel.
When the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted the education of 1.28 million learners across Palestine, UNESCO and the Ministry of Education joined forces to ensure access to distance learning with development of the channel. 🤝
UNESCO proudly supported the full refurbishment of the TV studio, and provided capacity building to Ministry staff and education personnel in creating engaging educational content for learners. 🎥
Television is the most accessible and affordable means of communication for children and young people in Palestine. 🇵🇸 Far beyond the pandemic, the #Palestine Educational TV Channel will help ensure that all learners can access #quality and #inclusive #education.
Head of Office and UNESCO Representative, Ms. Noha Bawazir, joined Prof. Dr. Marwan Awartani, Minister for Education, Ms. Lucia Elmi, UNICEF Special Representative, representing Education Cannot Wait, and Mr. Takashi Hattori, Deputy Representative of Japan to Palestine, for the official opening ceremony today. ✂
The project was funded by Education Cannot Wait (ECW) under the Multi-Year Resilience Programme (MYRP) and the Government of Japan within the project “Developing Digital skills and Education for Sustainable Development through Distance Learning in Palestine.”
