Three of BTS are killer rappers and with the four vocalists they touch almost every genre. I’m a hard rock fan and I haven’t been this excited about a group for years. Suga/Agust D goes harder than this on his solo work, just turn on the CC subtitles. Watch Haeghum. Halsey rocks. The later albums are harder. She has collaborated with BTS 4 times I think. TY
Kpop is not a genre. It's a industry. It has all kinds of genres. Suga is from BTS and BTS specially do so many genres of music. Pop, rap, hip hop, jazz, latin, ballads etc. They even have rock elements too sometimes. Suga is a rapper.
No BTS , that "bad boy concept " does not go along with them at all. I would suggest for you to give their discography a chance . Who knows ? It may surprise you
It's cool if you decided to just stay with female kpop, but I assure you that you wouldn't regret it if you checked out Suga/Agust D. He's raw and honest and he can go really hard. I started appreciating rap thanks to him. I can recommend: Daechwita, Haegeum, Amygdala (which is a trilogy), Interlude: Shadow, Agust D I only know two Halsey songs but I really love them: Control and Gasoline.
I'm slowly making it there. I've heard snippets of some of BTS and Stray Kids, but It still doesn't hit me right yet. It will change though as I open myself up more to new expereinces. Thank you for the comment.
Halsey is an amazing artist! I've been listening to her since around 2013 and she never disappointed with her lyricism. Now Suga from BTS is another incredible artist. His music with BTS stands out because they work with a lot of different genres: rap, pop, r&b, etc. But Suga as a solo artist, also known as Agust D has his own style. His most recent album, D-day, might interest you a lot, because he went for this grunge-y vibe. But all in all, he's a rapper and an amazing one at that, awesome producer, spits his bars and his lyricism is out of this world. My reccs >> Suga: Agust D Daechwita Haegum Snooze Halsey: Nightmare Castle Ghost BTS Run BTS Black Swan On
Wow, that's a lot of good recommendations! I'll check some of those out. I like k-pop, but I listen to the females. I get turned off easily by male kpop performers. They tend to go overboard with the "I'm a bad boy" routine I feel. Even in this video I think SUGA's performance would have stood out more if he would have used slow motion on him doing something dramatic.
Bts isn't just pop they have a wide world of genre's like Hip-Hop, EDM, R&B, Latin pop, ballad plus rock as well. That's just the tip of the iceberg with their genre's. They have 3 rappers and 4 vocalists trust me they aren't your typical boy group honestly these guys write and produce their own songs they always sing live and their songs have meaning to them and tell a story as well. I have been an Army since their pre debut days back in 2013 and their lyrics have helped me alot from what I was going through in the past and they taught me how to love myself as well also. You gotta check them out for sure it'll change your life. By the way bts fans are called army.
Thanks for going outside your usual wheelhouse to check this song out, I personally adore it! So full disclosure that I'm a BTS stan, and a SUGA bias, so of course I've got opinions 😂 But I grew up in the 90's/2k's an emo-goth-punk kiddo--talking Alkaline Trio, Deftones, Tool/APC, NIN, Smashing Pumpkins...fun fact, the original version of "Lillith" is off of Halsey's 2021 album that was produced by Trent Reznor. But yeah, let's say I never in a million years expected to end up a BTS fan, let alone full-on ARMY, but here we are. If we're bringing up nu-metal (which I'm glad you did!), I actually have some BTS recommendations for you. First off, the two main singles off J-Hope's solo album Jack In the Box immediately brought me back to 1999: "More" and "Arson". SUGA's latest album (under his other pseud Agust D, called "D-Day") has a song called "Amygdala" that really gives me early 2k Incubus vibes. SUGA's BTS solo "Interlude: Shadow" gives off a dark feel, too, and is about how all he dreamed about early on was fame and success, and now that BTS has shot so high, he's scared of losing his ability to stay grounded. Their lyrics are really much deeper than you'd expect from K-pop. "Fake Love" (esp. the "Rockin' Vibe" remix) reminds me of a great mid-2k emo song. And finally, just for some whiplash, Halsey did another collab with BTS as a group for their song "Boy With Luv" which is the cutest, most sugary pop (and they all wear lots of pink, haha). Anyway, it's obviously up to you whether you care to check out more of BTS's work, but I think you'd be pleasantly surprised. Thanks again for your reaction!
I'm behind anything Trent Reznor produces.....mostly, LOL! I'm not surprised that he produced that album considering the tone of the video and song and I've looked into more Halsey and she does seem to have more of an abbrasive feel to her songs. Not a bad thing for me. I'm slowly making my way to BTS, but I still have apprehension. It took me quite a while to finally admit to myself that I was a KPOP fan. I grew up similarly with metal, rock, emo, grunge,etc...I think if it weren't for also growing up in the 80's I wouldn't be a fan of KPOP. One big reason I keep on listening is because so much of it reminds me of 80's music. Which I still enjoy today. The thing that kinda gets to me about male KPOP is the badboy routine I keep on seeing in the videos and I just want to gag honestly. It's just too much for me. I'd much rather watch girls be cute or fierce than guys being the badboy. Thanks for sharing with me. It's a bit of an adjustment when switching from doom and gloom music to upbeat positive music. I'm finding a balance in music that I have never had.
@@the_talking_muffin I agree about the 80's music, the synths in some of their songs are so nostalgic for me (I listened to a lot of Cure and New Order, too, ok?? 🤣). As for that bad boy image the guy groups tend to give off, you definitely need to check out "Boy With Luv"! It's actually kind of an almost apologetic response to an earlier song they did, "Boy In Luv". Early in their career, their curated image was definitely bad-boy, and it was pretty cringe. "Boy In Luv" even had a pretty misogynistic video. Over the years BTS grew beyond that forced tough guy persona and embraced the fact that they could be silly, and cute, and soft as well as authentically (not manufactured) bad-ass and sexy. "Boy With Luv" is unbelievably adorable and worth a view. On first watch I was like, "No, this is way too poppy for me." But now it's in my top 5 of their songs, it's so cute and catchy. Anyway, just know that I feel you on that whiplash between darker music and upbeat things I never expected to enjoy. Let me know if you check anything else of theirs out.
but i really appreciate this video, like you give of literal background of your thoughts, your reactions seem really genuine, like some people are a little too over the top with their reactions which is okay they are funny, but its like you seem very professional about it, you know what you are talking about really enjoyed this video. you should definitely do more BTS reaction videos :))))
Yeah, If I know that I'm going to have fun with a video then I'll relax and be funny. I don't do the over-the-top thing, I would say. I've seen what you are talking about and it seems so disingenuous and actually turns me off of most reactors. My whole goal is to just turn on a video and have fun and be funny, but not lose my crap over every inch of what I'm watching. Thank you for such kind words
u have to listen to her albums 'if i cant have love, i want power album which was released in 2021, and her album 'manic' which was released in 2020, also the song lilith is from her album if i can't have love i want power. that album also has a movie which is fully filled with medieval and dark aesthetics. i would also reccomend on reacting to lady gaga and ethel cain.
I recommend the following songs from BTS. I think you might be surprised that they are a little different from other male Kpop acts. Airplane part 2, Butterfly, House of cards, Young Forever.

I recommend "OUTRO:Tear (live)" from BTS's rap line where SUGA (agust d) participates. 😅
