    I don't know what happened to Salah at AFCON with his injury, but he's a shadow of a player now. He also seems to just hold on to the ball too long. It's like he wants to show people how strong he is instead of just passing it to an open team mate. 100% sell him to Saudi in the summer to fund Amorim's team.

So tbh "we" were the only ones that did a proper bottle job, with all due respect to Atalanta we should never have lost at home to them. And the gooners yes they had a good chance against an unusually weak Bayern team but they lack the experience in Europe. And of course nobody expected WH to beat a super strong Leverkusen. City lost on pens after being super dominant without creating too many chances, (reminds me of us in these last few weeks), but RM are a FORCE in Europe, so it's not fair to say MC bottled it either.

      @RoyHodgson97 City arent a good European team, you cant play in europe and bully a high line and attack attack attack, why do you think they where losing favourites for 7 years in a row ?? Cos defend well yourself, make them defend, dont allow them to bully a high line and you have a very average defence. Citys defence is full of players who like to get forward. You only have to look at the teams that knocked them out year in year out to see this is correct. Football isnt just about attacking flare. Tactics and defence are just as important. A team like city who cant sit back and defend a 2 goal lead and still go forward is always going to struggle in europe, thats why they arguably had the best attacking team in the world but took so many years to do anything in europe, and again why Real madrid taught them a lesson. Pep wont change, though. Even when your 2 nil down to city, they still give you chances to score, they have NO plan B at all.

    The fact that players as great as Bale, Salah, Hazard and Robben started to enter their decline in their 30's just goes to show how incredible the likes of Messi, Ibrahimovic and especially Ronaldo have been in these last few years. It's not as easy as you think to keep at the top level for so long, Ronaldo had to learn the hard way and adapt his play to compensate for his speed and dribbling by being a supremely effective poacher in front of goal and that in turn gave him a good number of years to continue at the highest level - specifically during his last years at Madrid and his tenure at Juventus (who many claim was Ronaldo's most underrated period in his career).
    Unfortunately for Salah I feel like he's done at the highest level, I've noticed his decline since around 2022, his lack of effectiveness against top opposition became apparent and I feel as if we've been overinflating Salah's level, of course he's had his moments of magic and has scored a plethora of goals but Liverpool are in dire need of a game changer and with time passing by I'm uncertain that Salah will reach those heights again given his tendency to disappear in the big games, it's clear to see that many teams have figured him out and that with his increasing age it's only inevitable that he's lost that extra yard of pace making him all the more predictable. In 21/22, during the second half of the season Salah's form dipped and it was more so Mane who was picking up the pieces and Salah should have stepped up in the CL final but was very well marshalled by the Real Madrid defence, the following season it was pretty much the same story and Liverpool's position said it all really, they finished 5th and while Salah had a great season with regards to numbers, he was ultimately stat-padding as Liverpool only finished with a Community Shield. Then we go to this season and again where has Salah been against the top 6, or in fact the crucial cup ties, now Liverpool face the brutal reality that they may only finish with the League Cup and the questions that will be asked is that where would Liverpool go from here? They will certainly need a massive rehaul, I even fear that Van Dijk's days are numbered as well. Imo Salah's been a fantastic servant for Liverpool and will go down as one of the greatest PL players of all time but everything has a sell by date and I reckon that Salah's reached his at this point in time and a move would be the best solution for Liverpool going into the new season.

    In defence of Salah, with so much riding on games you can't afford to have your top player going off for a month or two on international duty - and worse still get injury while on duty. Top clubs just won't invest in top African players for this very reason.

    • @joeexotic5831
      @joeexotic5831 Месяц назад

      @Photosoflife agreed, but it aint his speed or running around that's been below his usual levels. It's been his final decision making and finishing. These things aren't affected by a hamstring injury. This is in the mind, a usual clinical finisher who rarely made the wrong choice all of a sudden passes when he should shoot, shoots when he should pass and misses chances we would usually presume he would finish with his eyes shut. You're mistaking my comments for disrespect. They aint. Salah is and always will be a God to us Liverpool fans, but there's no room for sentiment. If klopp had told him at the end of last season he was leaving, I imagine Mo would have taken the money and left. This is most probably what's affecting him. I have no issue with Mo going for a payday, especially as an Egyptian player going to Saudi , it does make sense, I actually think the timing of klopps announcement has affected 1 or 2 other players in a negative way also, just not as apparent as Mo as we rely on him to win games. Normal Mo scores several goals in the united games when liverpool created of 30+ scoring opportunities in each. He hasnt had an injury in years as even at his age hes a level above every other player fitness wise, as the lactate test at the start of the season proves

      @@joeexotic5831 I take in all of what you said. But if you were watching the first leg of the Atalanta tie, Salah appeared to be bending over and holding his hamstrings within minutes of coming on the pitch. You could see he was trying to loosen up his hamstrings. I played at a fairly high level myself for years and struggled with hip flexor problems for several years. The worst part is that during those years, my hip flexors would be fine for a few weeks and then they would randomly flair up and hurt so much. It prevented me from kicking the ball long for several years because I was afraid it was going to create this harsh jolt of pain that randomly happened when I did that. I was eventually able to rehab my hip flexors through a lot of rehab and my game completely changed. The bigger point I’m making is that Salah might have technically healed but the lingering psychological issues can still very much be there. And that can very much throw off everything about your game because you’re thinking too much instead of just letting your body do what it’s naturally been doing for decades. Watching Salah last night, he 100% should have been able to put the chip in the back of the net. But his all around game actually looked very solid to me and he nearly pulled off two brilliant assists. If he does stay at Liverpool, any future manager might want to consider playing him in a more central role. Because I actually liked what I saw of him more in the middle last night.

We have had so many injuries, we were missing most of our main starters at points, and had academy players come in. At some point that is going to bite you in the ass and it seems like that point is right now unfortunately, the players just seem a bit tired.
      Also why don't we keep things in perspective. If we finish third this season that is probably where we should be and is an improvement from last season. No one thought we would win the league before the season started, but of course when we get in those points where we're leading and then fall back a bit again it's disappointing, but still lets keep things in perspective.
      Maybe players need to be moved on, maybe Salah should be sold if we're offered $100mil or something crazy for him, but I just hate how reactionary the fan base gets sometimes, we wouldn't even be in the position we're in without Salah. His performances have been in decline since his first two seasons. The numbers have been papering over the cracks. He is not world class but the team he played in was and is. It was set up for him as the goal getter and goals on a plate for him week in, week out. He often looks passive, disinterested, and pulls out of tackles and aerial duels. He has no right foot to speak of whatsoever, appears physically weak with his back to goal, and is often extremely wasteful and greedy. He makes poor decisions at crucial moments in huge games and often does not show up in huge games such as derbies or finals. He has cost us big this year. I was saying we shouldve sold two years ago. Instead of giving him the new huge wages and contract. People slated me then. I think that wouldve been the best decision. We couldve commanded a much higher fee for him and bought a younger player who wouldve been better in the areas i mentioned above. His first two seasons at Liverpool were phenomenal. What he has done for the club has been brilliant. Definitely a club legend in a long line of other club legends from his era. But i think he himself is a bit delusional when he says he believes he is the best player in the world. The best player in the world would not be physically weak, greedy, or one footed, not able to score headers, pull out of tackles and aerial duels, and go missing in huge games like Champion's League finals. That is not what a world class player does. Overall i think he is pretty overrated and this is due to the numbers which only tell a part of the story. I have never seen a player that has his luck. Often times he will be having a horrendous game and the ball will fall to his feet in the box after several ricochets and he will score a tap in. Then people who only see the highlights will say oh he has great positioning. Or say its not luck and he is just amazing lol. I have watched every single Liverpool game for the last 30 years. He is not a world class footballer. Time to sell. Hope we can get a big fee. P.S. i guarantee there will be a comment saying i hate Muslims lol. When that has absolutely nothing to do with it. Only a small minded idiot who cannot comprehend football would blame valid criticism on a racial bias or otherwise. The people who will disagree with what ive said... my advice is simple - watch the games, not just the highlights or stats. Or better yet get a football education. Or dont be under the age of 25, because generally you have no idea what youre talking about.
