That cabin jumpscared was f*cked up. I jumped out of my chair and hurt my leg, loaf went pure instinct and scratched Spiff, and Spiff freaked out and got his hand scratched. Everyone lost on that one
I genuinely could not feel my heart for a bit…. The eventually found it

Spiff completely ignoring the park's sign saying 'Washington' and believing he's in Austrailia the whole time despite the massive forest, bear warnings and so forth is pretty funny.

This reminds me so much of Do You Copy. Staying in a watchtower at night, weird noises and stuff happening in the forest, "helping" a lost hiker and being hunted down by some weirdo(s). I love it.

What’s crazy is that at the burger place, one of the guys eating a burger which is also the same one Spiff tried to sit with, was actually one of the cult members and was the same cult member that chases you at the end, which you can tell since where he was sitting, next to him was a black cloth (the robe) and a shovel
Edit: I also just realized that he’s the guy who jump-scares you in the shed since his face matches up with when he was in the burger place
Im so used to seeing spiff be desensitised to jumpscares and it was a genuine shock when he actually jumped back in fear

He was messing around with the notion that there is a 'real' Ironbark Park and he could potentially go there. It was the chat that didn't stop bringing it up seriously in spite of all the reference to woods, gasoline, Fahrenheit, American accents, watchtowers, and the RV.
I wonder if the ending woild have been different if you brought the camera with you in the final escape so you could show the picture

@@TotalyNotTony it's wierd - the game is so similar to a game called do you copy - especially with a lost hiker needing to go left or right and it can kill them or save them - they totally coulda done different endings, with one being the canonical ending where you escape and fictional ones where you escape with the hiker, or you catch the cultists
@@jamsd20 as far as I know apparently the story is real, or at least the part of cultists in the forest the guy worked. You can tell when this games have to work around a concept and when they actually have a full story to tell, and this one was more of a "so this thing was a thing, then let's make a story around it"

Dude when Spiff started peeing I genuinely lost it. The longer it went on the funnier it somehow got. Hilarious how a terrifying game is just turned on its head from one action lol
as someone who has watched all FTF games, this one is the most scary
It does make sense, the fact that it is based in the middle of the dark woods and you have to leave your safe spot multiple times haha
To me, it is because of the verticality, it's forcing the player to corner himself in the sky. You know you will have someone peer in on you and there's no neighbourhood to run through or call the police from.
And whilst home invaders are scary, there's familiarity in the previous villains as they are just regular people. The horned silhouette is unnatural, unexpected, and the horns seem like a tree branch or shadow, something plain, until it moves, then you shat pant.
US woods are desolate and lonely but there's tell of a lot of illegal activities and disappearances in them, so its a real horror venue. That telegraphed cult photo flash moment is a scary visual too.

The scaries part of this whole vod was the way he pronounced Wollongong.
I like how Spiff jokes about the antagonist being the whistling man, only for him to immediately have to do a gameplay segment reminiscent of killer frequency.
Spiff has unironically become my favorite youtuber to watch. I've been in a rut recently of not knowing what to do for entertainment but I know whenever a new video comes out I can always just sit back and enjoy a wonderful 30+ minutes of content. Might try to start showing up to streams to get the full experience

Apparently (idk if anyone else said this), but the park used in the game is based off the Iron Horse state park in North Bend, Washington.
I guess no more southern voices for the characters since they’re northerners.

I will always love Spiff’s content because he (and chat) always make it so fun to watch. He doesn’t just go through the game, he screws around as he plays through, but in a natural way that isn’t annoying.

The park in this game is actually based off a park called Iron Horse State Park in Washington State. The sign you looked at in the beginning even said Washington State, so this park wasn’t in Australia at all lol
This feels like it was inspired by Do You Copy, especially with the part where you guide the lost hiker. It's a much shorter game but it was pretty cool
I like how not even 3 minutes in Spiff already starts pressing the game to its limits.
