    Hello can you refer to a absolute beginner tutorial on subd and sculpt, can not seem to save the sculpt to stl once finished it is only sending the original box shape before sculpting it and can not seem to escape the brush mode also TIA

    Thanks for this short tutorial (+ for the one in real time). When I try to reproduce fork-"head" in Rhino7 and with same settings in SubD quad mesh, I end up with hundreds of more faces than you do. Do I need to change a default Rhino setting beforehand?

    • @RhinoGuide

      Yes, the default for QuadRemesh is 2000 faces and it's also adaptive so the shape will impact the face count too. Go as low as you can with the quad count while keeping the design. Post to the user forum here too with any model if you have more questions. discourse.mcneel.com/

    If you wanted to make a sheet metal model of say the spoon in this tutorial. Can I ask how would one go about getting the exact dimensions of the separate planes. I have tried flatten surface for a model I have been working on SubD but it doesn't seem to work? Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

      You might try modeling the flat form first with a closed border curve and the command PlanarSrf. You could then use FlowAlongSrf to deform it onto a curved target surface and finally use OffsetSrf to make the solid. If that doesn't help, post a model to the user forum for some ideas, there are probably a few approaches... discourse.mcneel.com/

    How to control the Red line thickness(?) when u use 'Reflect' commend? I cannot find control option at the display mode.

    • @RhinoGuide
      @RhinoGuide  3 года назад

      That's based on the objects size when Reflect is run, you can turn it off in the full display mode settings in the SubD section too.
