Lindor grabbed the reins, held a team meeting and the team started digging out of the hole. Playing well enough to earn a Wild Card spot in the final day of the season thanks to Lindor. Then eliminating the Brewers in the 9th thanks to Alonso’s improbable Home Run. Now they’re onto the NLCS thanks to Lindor again. What an epic run. I hope it keeps going. Haven’t been this excited for the Mets since 2015.

Edwin Diaz struggled early on there in the 9th inning but after issuing back to back free passes he started finding the zone and getting Clemens to strikeout swinging, getting Marsh to fly out and then striking out Schwarber to end it was really fun to watch! Those were really fun and exciting games to watch! I would absolutely love to see the Mets win the NL pennant but it would be even sweeter to watch them win their 3rd World Series since 1986! The Mets have only won 2 World Series titles (1969 and 1986)! You gotta believe! I can watch this stuff on repeat. Even though we didn't get past the Dodgers. I've seen it all since becoming a fan of the '69 Miracle Mets as a 7 year old. This year we had the highest highs and the lowest lows, and that can sum up the history of the team as well. But 2024 had as much joy in it as any, despite falling short of getting to the WS.
Mendoza pulling this off in his first season is anything short of remarkable, considering how this team looked last season. He's going to be around for a long time.

This is the best Mets team I’ve seen in my life. Not even the team that went to the WS in 15’ had this much passion and dedication. No matter the score, they come back! True, the Mets aren’t the Yankees and probably never will be but winning a championship is a great start to at least have some credibility. I’m feeling this is the year the drought finally ends! You would have loved seeing the 86 team, solid in every position, and still had many hardships to earn the WS. 1988 was probably a better team, just couldn't make it.
2 things make it even sweeter than just winning the LDS. 1) Doing it against the Phillies 2) Watching Roger Clemens’ son striking out in big spots the last 2 games

I'm not a huge Diaz fan, but he didn't get the benefit of the doubt the other pitchers in the game had. Net result, still a win and on to NLCS. LFGM 💪💙

I've been a long suffering Mets fan. I've seen some good moments. If this team didn't go through the hard times, then this Playoff Run wouldn't be as exciting as it is now!
If Phillies fans get anything from this disaster please let it be that Rob Thomson is fired. I don't think I've ever seen a manager "manage" a grand slam for the opposing team so perfectly. When Jeff Hoffman came back in the sixth inning (why? and with no one warming up?) and threw that pitch in the dirt 10 feet in front of the plate that was immediately an EMERGENCY situation. Phillies were up 1 - 0 and getting no offense in an elimination game, they NEEDED shut down pitching and Rob decided eh let's go a few more batters and load it up with no outs.
Diaz is one of the Mets who give fans strokes. He has to walk two before he can actually get someone out??? Mets have played their hearts out and deserve this win. Great for them.

There is nothing as electric as Citi Field when Mets are winning causing Mets fans to go in a frenzy. The earth shakes at these times causing seismic activity in Queens. LFGM! Tip of the cap to our tough rivals the Braves & Phillies. The NL East is a BEAST. Iron sharpens iron. In 2007 & 2008 we dominated 95% of the season only to falter & collapse at the very end in heartbreaking fashion. On June 1st of this year the Mets were 24-34, 10 games under .500 & 16.5 games back and scored 245 runs while allowing 285. In one of the most insane turnarounds the Mets ended with a 89-73 record at 16 games over .500 scoring 768 runs while allowing only 697 for a +71 run differential. This team is nothing but heart & grit.😆👍 Cali here we come. LFGM

It's ironic, this was supposed to be a bridge year for the Mets according to reports in 2023, an all in year, and we're advancing to the NLCS for the 1st time since 2015. It's also ironic how the Phillies became the Braves.

Lets go Mets! Those first two walks from Diaz had me nervous, unlucky Phillies. Was watching this at 1:30am in England. My uncle is a Mets fan, so I followed suit - gotta be honest this was my first baseball match I watched in full, it was great! NLCS match to follow and 🤞 World Series🎉 🙏 - one game at a time !

This is the best Mets team I’ve seen in my life. Not even the team that went to the WS in 15’ had this much passion and dedication. No matter the score, they come back! True, the Mets aren’t the Yankees and probably never will be but winning a championship is a great start to at least have some credibility. I’m feeling this is the year the drought finally ends! You would have loved seeing the 86 team, solid in every position, and still had many hardships to earn the WS.
1988 was probably a better team, just couldn't make it.
15 was awesome too nobody expected Us to to WS We beat many Aces that year The scoring was low and pitching was much better too.

@theblackmamba323 not only watching the game on TV but had MLB GameDay on the laptop showing the pitch locations. His 2nd walk in particular had egregiously invonconsist calls. I'm not a huge Diaz fan, but he didn't get the benefit of the doubt the other pitchers in the game had. Net result, still a win and on to NLCS. LFGM 💪💙

If Phillies fans get anything from this disaster please let it be that Rob Thomson is fired. I don't think I've ever seen a manager "manage" a grand slam for the opposing team so perfectly. When Jeff Hoffman came back in the sixth inning (why? and with no one warming up?) and threw that pitch in the dirt 10 feet in front of the plate that was immediately an EMERGENCY situation. Phillies were up 1 - 0 and getting no offense in an elimination game, they NEEDED shut down pitching and Rob decided eh let's go a few more batters and load it up with no outs.

In 2007 & 2008 we dominated 95% of the season only to falter & collapse at the very end in heartbreaking fashion. On June 1st of this year the Mets were 24-34, 10 games under .500 & 16.5 games back and scored 245 runs while allowing 285. In one of the most insane turnarounds the Mets ended with a 89-73 record at 16 games over .500 scoring 768 runs while allowing only 697 for a +71 run differential. This team is nothing but heart & grit.😆👍
