It seems mostly fictional, but many points highlighted the life of Hmong polygamy status and power, political power between the rich and the poor, the unjustice jurisdiction in the Hmong old days, life and life after deaths underlying Shamanism of its practice. There are some truths in it all together despite if the story is fictional as there are many things to learn from it. The rich language May used make it more powerful than anyone else could have told because Hmonglish would not make this story classy.

But it is not.
This story could have just ended when he died. It would have been more believable. The 4th part was dreadful and hard to listen to.
Fictional maybe... Because its been "ib tiab." (And to me, ib tiab is rougly about 100 years) & In part 1, May mention this story started out around the time of 1920's. So.. if the wife died and reincarnated, she would still be alive..

This story start off interesting now it’s just dreading.
