    Very good video. I was over 4 on psa 15 years ago. I had one more psa a year later around 5 on psa. This made the doctor nervous so I told him, just don't give me a psa test ever again if it would make him feel better. He stopped and not having to listen to his biopsy protocol suggestion, made both of us feel better, especially me. No biopsy ever, and I am in my late 70's. I drink strong hi test coffee with a pinch of milk, no sugar ….3 cups a day, sometimes more. I love coffee . I repented of my sins and Jesus is my Savior so when He wants me, I am ready. Also, I am a old Marine combat vet. Sometimes ,you have to be your own doctor, especially in these times! Semper Fi.

    Dr. Hashmi, My name is Kenny. I am in my mid sixties right now very careful of anything i eat. I go to sleep thinking of waking up to have coffee. I love the calming experience of sitting and sipping that cup, its aroma, its calming nature, for me. If i am sleepy, i can drink a cup and fall asleep five seconds later, no problems. I have never thought of the health benefits of coffee other than its nature of allowing me that moment to reflect on the beauty of our mortal existence, that someone or something somewhere gave us this moment. Thank you for this dialog that we may still have quite a bit to understand that things that exist in nature around us may be the salvation to a harmonious existence to a healthier life.

    Caffeine really does have health benefits, but anybody who consumes a high sugar diet will have autoimmune issues...which can eventually lead to cancer. For me, the breakthrough was learning about living a Ketogenic lifestyle with intermittent fasting. The human body is capable of eating/consuming itself through autophagy and i would suggest that everyone becomes aware of this.

    • @MrRondonmon
      @MrRondonmon Год назад

      Yes indeed, the fasting makes us go into autophagy, and those cells that turn into cancer get used up by the body, I think that was your point also via the consuming itself quote. The weird part is the more I see knowledge increase, the more it makes me think God should be listened unto, He told Israel to fast and He told them to separate themselves and wash for 7 days after touching a dead body, so He warned them about Germs before we know about germs, lol, now we see the reality. I love my Espresso/Americanos.

    I have been having prostate issues [Prostatitis] for over 30 yrs, some coffee types make it much worse, if I go off coffee for a week the symptoms are mostly gone, if I take a non coffee caffeine supplement I don't get the Prostatitis symptoms, I think it's coffee itself not the caffeine that causes prostate issues. The prostate is super sensitive and very prone to develop allergies to certain foods, herbs, spices etc. The Prostatitis I have, originally started with a dairy/nut allergy, it got really bad and antibiotics didn't help much, I was scheduled for exploratory surgery to see what was happening to my prostate, I was eating a heavy amount of cheese and other dairy, I noticed the more I consumed the worse the Prostatitis got, so I totally cut dairy and noticed a big improvement, it took about a year to mostly recover, nuts were another bad one. Chronic Prostatitis can lead to cancer and I believe that most prostate issues [Prostatitis, enlargement, etc] are from some kind of allergic reaction, if certain foods, drinks give your prostate a flutter or a strange sensation, the odds are that your prostate is having a problem with what you ate/drank. Anyhow i hope this helps someone who is not having much luck with the medical community with a chronic prostate issue.

    Coffee is another method of smoking! Coffee is roasted at ~450F and pipe tobacco smolders at ~450F. Creosols and other nasty stuff ends up in the coffee, which you can visually see by adding albumin (e.g. an egg white), stirring for a while, heating to congeal it, and filtering out the congealed albumin, which will have turned a very dark brown. Purified coffee with the nasty stuff removed has a smoother taste, and doesn't promote hair loss. It would be REALLY interesting to learn whether purified coffee works better or worse for prostate cancer - i.e. whether its benefits are because of the nasty stuff, or in spite of the nasty stuff.

    On a side note Dr., I'm 51...been in the gym since I was 12....was 2x Armed Forces Bodybuilding Champion and my workouts have really been terrible over the last 5 years and I just started to have prostate issue on top of that. Because I had no answers for either, I just contributed the terrible workouts to getting older, although it was hard to believe I was feeling this old at only 51. I decided to limit my coffee intake to 4 ounces in the a.m. only and no more. Up my water intake as well. My workouts almost immediately improved. I think coffee really has a negative affect on the body as a whole. If you have never drank coffee....it will wire you up the first couple go arounds. It stimulates something in the body. Pretty soon...coffee really doesn't do that anymore...so something must be over stimulated. Over stimulating anything in the body is probably not ideal...especially when it is literally a drug doing it. Caffeine is a drug. Just thought I would share that story. If some of your viewers have been drinking high amounts of coffee for years but feel pretty crappy a lot...perhaps try and really reduce the intake and up the water level. Water is natural to the body and needed....coffee is not.

    I believe it's less about metabolism than it is about chemicals in coffee bulding up in cells in men who sit too much. SItting has been linked as a provable risk factor - truck drivers and computer programmers have high sitting rates, and both also drink a lot of coffee. All coffee beans have pesticides in them due to customs import laws.

You still get the benefits of coffee without the negative effects of caffeine. Then it doesn't matter how quickly or slowly I metabolize caffeine.

      Correct. Caffeine often gets conflated as a synonym to coffee, when they should never be confused. Coffee has a specific and complex chemical profile, of which caffeine is only one constituent. That is not to say they both separately can't have an effect, but caffeine is not coffee.

    I was, until maybe a few years ago (I am now 74), able to drink a double shot of espresso at, say, 10 pm and be asleep by 11:30. I therefore believe that I must be among the fast caffeine metabolizers. I obviously won’t know my actuarial age, but despite having locally advanced PCa, my PSA following ADT and IMRT is still undetectable at 18 mos. I wonder if the genotype you mention might be a contributing factor to the positive outcome? However, a nurse and medical writer friend of mine years ago told me that the metabolic pathway for caffeine may be linked to colorectal cancer. Any word on that?
