Beautiful work as always. Though I probably would hide the screws by mixing a bit of glue and sawdust and pugging the hole

Hi Shoyan I am a English Carpenter & Joiner and love watching how you and Japanese Carpenters work its very pleasing to see and well executed thank you but most of all I love your chisels and chisel work I would love to own a set of chisels like them what are they called and where could I order them many thanks and keep on teaching your wood work

Look for « oire nomi » it seems to be like the standard bench chisel. There are others. Although their use is quite straightforward, you need to learn about setup and sharpening.

Agreed. He is so serene and unhurried in his work yet successful. Clearly he loves the work and as a fellow carpenter/woodworker I love it too.

While I think you do a good job on English translation, I'd like to suggest that what you describe as a knag, is in fact a knot in English.

The English word for what you are calling "knag" is "knot".

when you perform a many mortise and tenon joint operation, it is best to use the hoot and hack method, whistlers, bubblers, it doesn't matter, complete zen must be achieved to lite all the joints. you must become the joint to know the joint before you can love the joint, the old tateguya dude was telling me about it, so i'm what they call a super duper mega maga turbo deluxe expert in all woodworking and joinery not to mention the participation awards, well, mostly participation awards but you know, they don't just give those away
