Which of these bikes do you think will win the Tour de France? 🤔 Let us know in the comments below! 👇
LIDL is not LITTLE. Please boys, I won't last the whole Tour with you mispronouncing the name!!!! Think of the “i” in Lidl like the “ea” in leader. “Leadl” then, for you english speaking people. Greetings from Germany.
Edit: Just found out, that they themselves are doing this to them in the UK. Embarrasing for a german company to change their pronounciation for another market.
Tarmac SL8
Hopefully Cervelo with Jonas 🇩🇰 and the TREK and Mads Petersen 🇩🇰 in the green Jersey 😊
Where is the new Ridley?
@@heribertfassbender5759 I actually bought a bike repair stand from Lidl which is great :D And it was like $30.. so I hope now Lidl will sell Trek Tour de france bikes for $3000
Can we have a moment of appreciation for how fast the Jumbo team was to grab Jonas' bike as it started to tip? that was bloody impressive 😂
They know how to go fast as a team 😂
never thought you'd have to weathervane an aerobike like a tower crane in a windstorm, but here we are!
@@gcntechwhat's the magic invisible bike stand you got there?
@@leo_4649 The brand is probably ShadowStand. They have a couple of different models available online.
The pro cycling equivalent of Secret Service.
Favourite bike - Cofidis Look 795 RS. Old school tubs, old school SRM, white bar tape. Classic.
Ive always road Look bikes and this one hits different! Classic feel 100%
That Trek paint job looks on another level probably Mads Pedersen bike is the nicest looking road bike I've ever seen unbelievable great content Si.
Only 3.5k extra for the price tag 😂
@@cyclingchef3531 il have 2 lol what a price.
We think Si might be in love with that paint job 🙌 Who wouldn't be... should we get ollie to try replicate it?
@@gcntech Absolutely.
the whole team got custom paint jobs, you should check them all out. They also have some with crystal effects and metallic flakes!
Although the Mondrian styling of Look has always been a bit loud for my personality, I have to say that the lines on the new 795 gives my heart the fizz. It's my favorite frame design in a long, long time.
It LOOKS pretty special doesn't it 😉Ollie got a tour around the factory 👉 ruclips.net/video/4DKkueqcKmQ/видео.html
Wonder how it rides? Sometimes "LOOKS" can be deceiving.
That Lidl Trek paint job is definetly impressive, but in my opinion the overall appearance of Trek Segafredo with these pure glossy red bikes and the more than stylish design of the jerseys was nice, too.
That new Factor and the new Look are things of absolute beauty..
Love the 795RS, a beautifully proportioned bike with a fabulous execution of the Mondrian colour scheme. Really pleased to see that skinny frame tubes are coming back too. That's how bikes should be.
agreed, classy looking machine
You just can't beat those classic shapes 👌
Trek knocked that paint job out of the park! Nothing is even close!
And that would be 3500 dollar extra, thanks.
It's pretty special isn't it!
Jianhuicha1154 I don’t know how things are going in your area but I paid $9 for a box of cheerios yesterday. $3500 upgrade for just that look on your new $13,000 bicycle doesn’t strike me as exorbitant. Happy 2023 Tour d’ France wherever you are 🚴🏼💨
Yeah, a unicorn must have vomited on that bike.
Cool paint job!
Trek looks awesome, also with Cervelo 😘
It does! Have you seen the documentary on GCN+ that we made about Trek? 👉 gcn.eu/Trek
That Trek paint job is one of the best I have seen from them. Unfortunately the paint upgrade in the us is $3500
Oooofff........ That's pretty hefty.
Lmfao, bike prices are so dumb. Really put a damper for my enthusiasm to the sport tbh.
@@iwontreplybacklol7481 I get that. But it's high end bike, so a price like that would be expectable (yet still way too high for ordinary people)
@@laterreurrouge1917 i wasnt specifically reffering to just the paint job, but prices in general just dont make sense, it just feels like major price gouging. In my other non bicycle hobby I can get a comparable carbon, aluminum cnc machined part of the same size and tight tolerances and it cost 1/5 the price of what a similar size piece for a bicycle part maker would charge. Just doesnt make sense.
@@iwontreplybacklol7481 I did understand that. And I still agree ^^
6:28 This video is packed full of tons of geeky bike tech to love. The Factor bike was incredible and that top tube! 😲
Beautiful bikes and the best in the world man! The manufacturers finally got weights down, for sure this TDF will be another super fast one!!
I’m not gonna lie, that new bmc looks amazing!! The frame design looks fast and looks efficient. To fork is super wide but I do think it looks njce
I thought so too. What is the model? Does anyone know?
@@rg807 not released
I watched a bike shops repair video where the carbon bmc frame bottom bracket hole for the cranks wasnt even truly round and was eating bottom bracket bearings 😂
Those Trek bikes look phenomenal!!! ♥
You look phenomonal.
To me the Cofidis' Look wins the beauty contest by a mile. Somewhat traditional lines from the side, and very neat all around.
That BMC is stunning 😎
As someone still riding a Look 555, it's awesome to see the brand at the top level again. Also, that Trek paint job is pure 🔥
Man those bikes are fascinating,to just look at them, imagine riding one of these 😮 that would be insane, thanks gcn for this video
Ben O'Conner's BMC is stunning!
....but is it a new masterpiece? #bmctagline
It's a great looking bike! Will we see it win a stage this year? 👀
Dare bikes look very nice. The factor top tubes looked very purposeful. Love the simplicity and thinness.
What I would've said.
GCN PLEASE PLEASE use 4K cameras at a resolution of 3,840 x 2,160 pixels. So us couch surfers around the world can enjoy the bicycles Si is showing us.
Awesome Trek paint....Uau!
2:06 the battle of supermarket chains
So exited for this tour.
So are we!
And I am excited!
I love the 1by appearance of the Cervelo!
The Look bike just makes me want to keep Looking at it. Stunning. Work of art. Beautiful. Put Pog on it! Loved the show. More please.
Pog not on a Colnago ... we just can't imagine it 🤯
Can‘t wait to see the BMC full released
My thanks. Carry on! -Seb!
I am so tempted to try out Vingegaard's 1x setup on my CX bike as during this time of the year I use it mainly on open road.
Give it a go! We would love to know how you get on 🙌 1x is certainly a super simple system!
Dropped chain galore … and lots of cross chaining
LOVE Canyon bikes.... but that PAINT JOB! *drool*
I watched this twice because of how nice the bike look,
my fav is the Look Blade 795, very closely followed by a joint placing for 2nd......
Colnago V4rs or the Cervelo,
machines like these make it that much harder to pick out an overall winner for the tour this year so I'm not going to
Wow those trek bikes look absolutely stunning!
As an owner of MERIDA road bike i vote for them. 😊
That Cervelo s5 with single chainring looks super cool.
How do you get on with your Merida? They make some great looking machines ⚙
@@gcntech I Love it.
High Quality + Affordability = MERIDA. 😊
Love the Trek paint job and the frame .
Good job on the lighting and grading
LOOK blade is stunning
Integrated sprinters button on the carbon bar, lovely stuff
I have a feeling demand for LOOK bikes is going to be strong. The stunning CORIMA wheels match the frame perfectly.
Nr 1. The Beautiful! Look bike is Back. 2. goes to BMC. 3. to Colnago. But who would say No to any of those Bikes :) But the color on Mads' Bike WAAAAAAW!
Definitely have bike envy watching this video
That BMC is super nice, the Colnago is what I’d want to ride the most but that Look is the overall winner IMO.
Why would you ride the Colnago over the Look? 👀
May not be new or going to win GC but the Astana Wilier is stunning as is the colour scheme of the Alpecin team Canyons. ❤❤
My favourite is bike Favorit from Czechoslovakia 1979 -my first bike 🙂, I restored this bike 2 years ago- it is now my private little "tour " every day..From this video is my favourite Colnago- nice design, pure lines and must be very fast , I think...
This is getting me hype for the tour!!
💛💛
these bikes are looking suuuuuper cooooool wow!!
The bmc at the beginning is an absolute gem of a bike. The look is pretty cool too ✅
If you had to choose one? What would it be? 👀
@@gcntech honestly…. The BMC by a slither, but I’d need a poster of the Look for my bedroom wall 😁
It is gorgeous, and that graffiti look rocks
Very interesting to note the *lack* of technical advances this year. A little carbon Ti rotor spindles, a bit of 3D printing. Otherwise nothing. The dropped seat stays (2021), aero bars (2019), bar shift buttons (2018?), narrow head tube (2019) are yesteryear. The video focussed on paint jobs, tweaks and... weight. I think manufacturers are trying to get the weight down from porky 8kg+ to nearer UCI 6.8kg.
Ben's BMC comes in at 7.4kg, and 6.9kg for the new Factor for those who are wondering.
new ostro vam would be more interesting
Are those the same measurements for those who are not wondering?
Liking the Piet Mondrian style of the Look bikes.
I have been peeping oakleys through IG and watching the tour but would like to see a video with kind of a run throughout the helmets, shoes, glasses preffered by most of them this year.
Trek/cervelo/look/colnago/factor such a beautiful bikes!
That Look 795 looks amazing.
Richard carapaz bike having the switches on the side of the body is something ive commented on before. The upper stock buttons are really in the wrong place, being under the palm or requiring you to move your hand to use. Putting buttons on the side is mich more stable to squeeze with the thumb without affecting steering.
Mega bling looking Si. Wandering how many times Si said Mega in this video.
Pogačar with his Colnago is going to win.
He might! Have you seen our Colnago film on GCN+? 👉 gcn.eu/ColnagoArt
Awesome :)
I believe I would be ok taking any one of those bikes home. So impressive.
If you could only pick one? 👀
Here's a bike with some stickers and a wrap. Wow!! So high tech
Great documentary.
Honestly surprised that Specialized haven't released the SL8 yet
They got complacent
Gonna be a crap overpriced bike anyways lol
So LOOK is back. Nice.
4:44 Si would believe that it's unbelievably light? Bit contradictory! 🙂
That Look is absolutely stunning…..
It does indeed 'Look' stunning 😉😆
Cervelo will win the tour but Pedersens bike is 🥳 Wow!!!!
It's pretty nice isn't it! Have you seen the documentary we made on GCN+ about Trek? 👉 gcn.eu/Trek
Hi
Great tech stuff, love it.
Any chance of checking out the Bianchi bikes?.
The new ones coolbut not as nice as the Specialissima which some of the team are riding.
Thanks
Grant
Drooling . Nice bikes .
That newly launched Factor TCR looks nice
Trek wins for me. The colors, the gold the tech!!!
My favorites are the Look Blade 795 RS and the Colnago V4RS
Lots of love for the Look and the Colnago 👀
Nothing sexier on planet earth than an ultra hi-tech road bike!
Trek bikes look so cool
That Factor looks ace, apart from the integrated seatpost that is.
The factor o2 is super cool.
@@cbb3062 Been saving-up for a new bike and it may now be top of my list. Depends on cost, of course. And if I can deal with that seatpost. Having said that, the Look 795 is damn tasty too.
@jackkramer3884 ya the 795 is super nice, a bike not mentioned in this video that I think is really good for the money is the new Giant Propel it's 6.9kg and areo. People say it has good ride quality aswell.
I think Look is going to win the TDF bike war. They don’t need to steal the spotlight or create a bike that is blinged out or post an earth shattering TDF result.
All they need to do is to just pull some people towards them away from big guns like the SL7 and Canyon. And I think they can do that.
Beautiful bikes
What was the cassette used on Ben O’Connor’s BMC, since it’s using the new Campagnolo SR12 Wireless with the old SR Crankset, 54-39, with power meter?
Trek paint job 😍
Look! 795rs 😍
love the video
Custom barber capes, the UCI should look into that ASAP.
The factor is like a Giant TCR combined with the 2012 Trek Madone.
On Vingegaard's S5, could that groupset be the new SRAM Red? The hoods resemble the rival and new force, while the levers resemble the red variant, prominently displaying the bold "SRAM" on them. Additionally, the rear derailleur appears slightly different from the current red, lacking the shiny silver component it once had 🧐
There is a revamped Red coming just like the Force that was released earlier this year. Smaller hoods and no wired sprint buttons. Will probably release this fall.
The pros have been running SRAM Red parts like crank arms and shifters that have different branding for the last year at least. I'm not sure if the new shifters are actual red shifters with the pro branding or if they are force shifters with the pro style levers.
Love the colnago
Love the haircut feature
the colors for merida are also very awesome. would ride one like these. but i am pretty sure to heavy for it. :D
Carapazes(?) shifters seem very logical. You’re fighting up a mountain, that’s where your hands are already going to be. Less movement than swinging your levers, less movement than moving to the top of your shifters.
Let's go Factor!
One-by gearing on a road race bike…I’m having a hard time wrapping my head around that. I have it on my gravel bike. And love it for that easy use case. But road racers trying it…we are in new territory! Very cool video!
Why not? Same range, more aerodynamic, less weight, more intuitive gear changing. Basically no different reasons from why you use 1x for your gravel bike or I use 1x for my hybrid commuter.
It worked quite well for Roglič!
The Aqua Blue team had 1x on their 3T bikes in 2018.
BRILLIANT EPISODE
Thanks! Which bike was your favourite?
The Look❤
😄
They let the BikeRadar guy weigh the BMC..
7.34kg
Go Ben! 🇦🇺🏆
Great insights👌Thanks for that! I case people want to know more about that Aerothan tire Si mentioned at 04:35 we've just uploaded a video about that to our channel ✌😉
Don't recall ever seeing a Chinese direct-to-consumer bike company in the TdF. The winds are changin'!
Extremely nice bikes. Would like to know what tires are picked for rain.
I love Si trying to play Ollie in this video--right down to the hair comments.
My first thought when I saw Mads Trek was that I wanted to ask it out on a date.
I promise to bring it home in time for the next race.
Unless we elope;)
The secret tech I just saw… a piece of plexiglass to hold my bike for pics. Thx JV mechanics!
I was under the impression that all these goodies were to be commercially available to consumers. I have never seen a negative head stem at my bike shop
That cervelo is ❤
Any pricing on the Dare bikes?
