Ableton Audio Effect - Shifter Device Tutorial

In this video we look at the new Ableton Live 11.1 update, specifically the new Shifter device. Shifter is Ableton's new and improved frequency shifter, now with the ability to shift the pitch, and to perform ring modulation. Live 11.1 shifter also has some powerful modulation options with an LFO, Envelope Follower, and MIDI Input. Ableton's new Shifter has taken on a powerful new role in any Ableton users sound design tool belt.

Isn't the Vocoder doing the same like midi pitch here in the Shifter?

The vocoder is more about pulling the tonality from another source, while this device shifts the notes based off the incoming MIDI. So the vocoder is more about the external audios tone, while this is purely about the notes coming in. I hope that makes sense

@@KermodeMusic it’s the classic eventide pitch shift and delay. They have a hood software version as well. Famously used by Tony Visconti on the Bowie and Iggy Pop Berlin albums among other things.
