Very true and accurate. I just went thru this with copays for my cataract surgeries and everyone bills separately. Co pay was quite high.

I like privately funded healthcare in principle but this needs much more regulation. How hard would it be to just write a law that says you must offer a plan that costs whatever amount, fully covers xyz and you can whine about why you shouldn't have to pay individual claims in court but only to get your money back after the bills are paid

But but but more regulation is SOCIALISM and we can't have that.

@@Batman-bh6vw no you've got that totally wrong. Socialism is when government unnaturally restricts/directs business, that kills economies. Healthy regulation is the ligitimate use of power to prevent predetory business practices and actually increase competition and variety in a free market, that makes them grow. A socialist would say you must make your product to xyz specs and it must cost this much and be made in this way. A responsible capitalist would say your product has to be safe and fair, beyond that go nuts.

@@johnmccrossan9376 Doesn't matter how wrong it is, some people genuinely seem to think that way. Any kind of government regulation is evil to them.
And responsibility seems to be in short supply when there's profit to be made, which is again why oversight is needed.

@@Batman-bh6vw I understand their point, government should have as little to do with business as possible but there are some cases where it is needed, but that only works if its a government that understands its not there to run the business.
