i was quite happy for him that he was able to end his career with a good farewell album
Amen Tony.
As someone who was a fan since U.P and B.T1, seeing the pattern quality decrease each release and being disappointed from how dog shit the last 2 were, I was so terrified that this would be a fucking disaster. I am glad Logic came back with a fucking banger.
I bet he'll be back within 5 years
@@wgo523 I don't know man he looks very serious. Like he said permanent vacation
Logic has given us all the music he could give we’ll see him in any other entertainment avenues he chooses to pursue so he’ll be around still I hope
He’s still gonna be producing stuff I’m pretty sure but not for economic gain. Like maybe produce some fun stuff on twitch. He still loves music but it isn’t gonna he a job for him anymore.
This was a perfect retirement album in my opinion
the stream made me sad too
No one asked
Joe Sangha literally but the stream was enough to make a grown man cry
Joe Sangha 😘😘
Joe Sangha ur not funny

@@justkaine. want a medal?
Fun fact: “Man i is” samples “Didn’t Cha Know” by Erykah Badu and the horns from “SpottieOttieDopaliscious” by OutKast and we all know André 3000 is from OutKast. André and Erykah dated back in the 90’s. They have one child together. Thought that was cool. #NoPressure
j Cole sampled it too for too deep for the into
Knockin doors down by pimp c too
He used the same sample on Addiction way back in the day as well
Everyone should know this lol
It’s good to pay homage but imo he sample that song like 3 times.
This is how you come back after a bad album, lot of introspection and bitterness of the reception the album got. He also doesn't waste too much time talking about the previous album (looking at you, Eminem). It's also amazing for a retirement album, he's paying homage to the OGs and sampling them, but also implies that he has run out of topics too. I love this album, and I was someone who didn't like anything other than Under Pressure.
You're literally acting like em and logic are the same kind of rappers.. em is originally a battle rapper turned mainstream. He goes after people.. that's pretty much what he's always done in a way. Just who he is.
Shawn but nobody wants to hear a multi-millionaire rapper diss music critics 😭
@@ryantyler9823 Look at the stats my guy. Highest selling rap album of 2020🤷♂️ apparently people do.
@@ryantyler9823 Damn so that means him being the best selling artist in the 21st century, is a sham he used his white supremacist power to brainwash people.
Him criticising critics was also the best selling pure album of 2018, and best selling hip hop album of all time, finally peeps are waking from being mind controlled by him.
Slip Knot dont think u understood my point at all. nobody wants to hear a rapper diss critics for pointing out obvious flaws in their music, just sounds like a baby whining. and ya he is #1 selling bc he is fucking eminem
Logic should look into voice acting for an animated series, that would be cool considering he made a cameo for Rick and Morty already
ozymandias ___ yes it was!
He was on Last of Us 2
I agree, his voice is very animated and varied
he said on this twitch stream release party he was getting into voice acting!
He was in rick and morty i believe
From 'Under Pressure' to 'No Pressure' - the perfect way to end his career, a strong 8/light 9 from me ;)
watch fantano give this a strong 5 to light 6
@@prodbyadi4055 I think he'll give it a 7
@@coleintheville117 there's no way he doesn't
Prod by Adi the second half of the album def will lower the score for him. I’m guessing decent to strong 5.
Giannis Antetokounmpo huh
There are so many Kanye west references in the album if you notice.
He has a lot Kanye references in every album. He's a huge fan and I respect the shoutouts
It’s like he listened to late Registration right before making the album
StraightWaq and graduation because I heard stuff from Barry bonds and big brother
@@steelplays4254 And the drums from Good Morning
@@Shockwave231 I heard that right away when that track started on my first listen earlier
5 hooks is a reference to how there are only 5 hooks on the album
what are the hooks then?
Squints dad bod , man i is, GP4, hit my line, and heard em say
I like hooks though. Hooks are what makes the song. Its that catchy hook that draws people in.

Just crazy to see how quick people change up their position on logic. Not even half a year ago everybody called him straight ass and now since he's retiring ppl are like "he's the goat" "thanks for all the good music".
This is so facts. I’ve been a Logic fan since 2013, & I definitely have not been a fan of anything since like Bobby Tarantino 2. But i’ve never been the guy to trash him. I just didn’t liked it & moved on but always respected the man. Crazy how people speak so quickly without thinking or actually forming their own opinions lmao
Well to be fair he was pretty ass recently but he also had a lot of pretty good music I’ve yet to hear this album or watch this video so we will see
@@devonhalford5522 yeah. This album is a step up definitely and i agree that hes fell off recently, but my point is that ppl were saying all this just based on him announcing his retirement. Ppl literally just go with the flow of everyone else and can't form their own opinions for shit.
@@Hunterdmnd yeah im with you I was a die hard fan for a while. But once he dropped BT1 and was like "oh this is just to turn up while I work on the real shit" then to drop everybody, idk just the music in general took a nose dive. Like he just makes a fool out of his fans. He says, "only way ill fail is if my verse weak" then proceeds to drop COADM, everybody, and BT2. AND that hot ass trash ass verse on that French Montana song. Idk he just really doesn't stick to his word and ill admit that I trashed him for that.
Larry Lovestein yeah it’s a shame. I never said he was ass because I know he wasn’t. His new music just wasn’t great. People seem to forget how good his discography was.
I’ve been a huge fan of logic ever since his YS mixtapes and dark place is by far my favourite logic track, really resonates with me
Facts, dark place had me tearing up.
You too? Dark Place definitely best track in my opinion
I saw your pfp and thought I had a hair on my phone, not cool.
Yeah I’ve listened to it 5 times and I’ve cried everytime 🙃
@@FalloutFPSJB He said he was originally not even going to release TDP ever, let alone put it on the album, he said he recorded it when he was really sad and depressed in life just as a way to vent
Fun Fact: The sample on Soul Food 2 is actually the one intended for the first one. They couldn’t find the people to clear the sample though so they had to recreate it. This is the real sample
Slack Starfish81 makes sense I remember hearing 6ix say something like that back in the day “ wish you all could hear the original soul food “ 🤯
Matthew Brannon there was actually a snippet for another part of soul food that was cut too. Kinda sounded like a combination of the first and second best and it was FIRE.
Jon is GOATed
HOW IS MY MAN THIS QUICK
I didn’t notice until someone pointed it out on twitter but the cover art is an interpolation of the cover for Under Pressure, you’ll notice every detail from that cover is here but it’s more like surrealistic

On Man I Is, The sample is spottieottiedopaliscious by OutKast
@Jimmy Mac heard a lot of Cole influence too
Also Erkah badu- Didnt cha know. Both instrumentals are mixed together fantastically.
Who else used that sample I’ve heard it somewhere else
OutKast is sampled, Erykah Badu (produced by J Dilla), and Pimp C as well all on this track

i can sleep easy knowing he going out on this album (even tho he defs gonna come back)
no one ever retires from music, but do I think we're ever gonna get another FULL album? I'm not sure.
Did you watch the stream?
Fun fact : dark place was never gonna be released logic made this thinking NO ONE would ever hear it but since it was his last album he said fuck it
Crazy thats my fav off the album bc its so raw and real
It's my favourite lyrically. But I have to say that Soul Food II is amazing 😂 calling back to "The Incredible True Story's" story line. I can waffle on about that story line 😂
Pengu soul food 2 was amazing i got so hyped hearing it
@@xReece2010 I loved the call hacks to the story. About them going to paradise and Kai and Thomas listening to the old music (UP). It's so cool
I hope everyone realizes that this is probably it. For everyone who watched the twitch stream, he wasn't joking when he said "For everyone who thinks I'll release something later, five years are gonna pass and you'll be like, oh shit."
I think no pressure is the end credits to logics career. If he does end up releasing later, I'm not going to complain. I mean it's freaking logic we're talking about. But overall, he's ready to not be in the spot light any longer. He's sick of the media. He no longer needs to release albums for him to feel loved because he finally loves himself. You can tell no pressure took a lot of time and effort, because it is his final one.
My only regret is that I'll probably never get to meet or see him. He was such an inspiration. But even though I didn't meet him in person, I met him through his music. And that is something that will never change.
I think he said this a long time ago that he was going to end his music career and wanted it where you could look back it from a beginning to an end instead of like some other artists where they just randomly keep releasing albums he wanted a kind of like story through his albums beginning to end. But he did say just because he’s done with music doesn’t mean he will completely disappear. In example he’s most likely going to be on twitch a lot more and maybe write more books or even do some directing.
It only took Logic 4 studio sessions to complete the album, thalia said it. So he made a masterpiece in no time at all.
#GOAT
Maybe he really feels like retiring right now, but it's obvious that the guy absolutely loves making music. I doubt that this will be the last we hear from him. I'm happy that everyone loves him now because he is one of the nicest people in the hip hop community and deserves all the praise he can get
Jon, the art cover is based off of his Under Pressure album, if you compare the both, the same speakers can be seen on both, the CD player, the sofa and all that. The album cover is pretty much a reference to the basement where he started writing and recording songs, which he also references a few times on this new album. Just thought you might find it interesting. Keep up the good stuff!
Peep the window in Under Pressure, it’s the orange color that’s shown on No Pressure
The second part of Soul Food II him narrating the plot of his album The Incredible True Story, I thought that was really cool
the second half of soul food ii was basically him rapping about the incredible true story's...story. he was telling a sci fi tale which explains why the lyricism and flow werent as intricate
We still need to know what happened to Thomas and Kai!
Aaron Barkat-Masih Logic said that we will see a conclusion to the story and to not worry about it. Also he would release the U85 mixtape he made if it got a petition of a million signatures
@@KingofKnowhere when did he say that? Now I'm excited as T.I.T.S. is my favorite album of all time lol
aa bb he said it during the listen party on twitch. The rattpack can definitely accomplish this 😭
Rattpack got me an early access code for the Bobby vs everybody tour so I could get tickets. Always will love logic and the pack. Been with since under pressure
Logic really left us begging for more despite us asking for less in the past few years😂
I’m really happy for logic now that he can have a good life and he ended it with a great album

This is everything that I wanted from a logic album. He really outdid himself with this project and made me feel nostalgic for how long I have been a fan. As far as lyricism, messaging, and production from No I.D, it was great track for track. Paying homage to HiP-HOP in creative ways and building off of it for the culture. The way man i is pulls Erkah Badu vibes, along with pimp c and OutKast was masterfully done. I’m glad that the last logic project is something that I love. You have a great retirement Young Sinatra. Everyone stay safe and god blessed out there.
You’re grind is literally insane
*your
I’m so happy about the state of this album, a really nice way to end off his decade of rapping :)
Logic was the person that got me into rap way back in 2014. I didn’t like his music the past 3 years but I’m so happy he ended on amazing note with this album, all the references to under pressure got me reminiscing so hard. I’m gonna give it time, but this may be his best album yet.
This is from the cover artist's (Sam Spratt) Instagram post: "Go back to the basement, but everything feel different and distant". This was the least direction given for a cover between us over the years, but prob the most organic for both of us. Really just born out of convos about where he's at in life vs explicit art direction. Nostalgia mostly feels like perpetual baby vision, so the goal was trying to go back to something well-tread, find utility in it to the concept versus just "hi, remember me, i'm that place from that thing" and (hopefully) create something distinct from the source.
You'll notice that this is the same basement he is sitting in on the original 'Under Pressure' cover art. Even the shoes he is wearing and the speaker and monitor that are floating up are the same. As a fan for years, this was so insanely cool to me!
Love this reaction Jon, one of my fav RUclipsrs atm
Again your reactions and watching you enjoy the album is the same reactions that I had...
Keep doing you my man. I enjoy watching your videos.
anyone notice that 6ix sampled IGOR’s THEME on hit my line ?
I love your reactions. Thank-you for your peaceful reaction. You have a new subscriber.
This is such a good album, gave me so many memories from his old tracks and almost made me tear up with memories 😢. I do think he'll be back one day and I hope so because I realise how much I like his songs when I'm anticipating his next album.
Dude the production on your videos are great! You edit things well and you are thoughtful with your responses to the music you listen to! Keep up with the great content!
the sample in Man I Is is used in J. Coles “Too Deep For The Intro” on Friday Night Lights
Apart from the retirement stuff this album has actually aged incredibly. The more years go by the more this album feels like a classic in his discography. The production on this project was actually incredible
Jon Denton, hardest working channel in the game. Keep up the grind JD
Aquarius 3 is a great second part of the song because of his context of the verse it brings it back to the story of his second album and one his best ( T.i.t.s ) sorry Jon if you thought it was bland or whatever but if you really mess with logic you understand how good that was
Bro I was in the livestream listening it to it with him when it released, I ended up crying when he did at the end, but he explained a lot of stuff of why with some of these songs, man that was an experience
*you always posting when albums first come out 🙏💯*
Man I am so happy that he knocked it out of the park with this one. I’ve been waiting on this Logic since BT2. The way he came on the track on No Pressure you knew he’d take us way back. Thank you Logic
my bad, love your reactions and this was an amazing album
That sample you asked about sounds like "Spottieottiedopalicious" by Outkast, from the Aquemeni album, aka the greatest album EVER. You have to react to that one!
Jon I love how non-biased an understanding you are of the overall product of an album and the artist's life. Not just critiquing of the music, but take it into the context of the artist's life.
It was an incredible experience to watch & listen to Logic react to the album with us on Twitch. You could tell how much this album meant for him. I definitely put this album on par with UP & TITS. It's a proper farewell album & I am happy for him & what he's accomplished. Thanks for the reaction!
This album is absolutely some his best work since "The Incredible True Story". Its like you said, the last couple years, the stuff that he's dropped has not been at the level that we know that he's capable of. When Logic first announced that he was retiring with this album, I was super skeptical, but after listening to it, I believe him. That being said, I'm so glad he went out with a bang like this. Fantastic album.
That same sample is used in Too Deep for the Intro - J.Cole, but cole got it from a song called Didn't Cha Know by Erykah Badu
I enjoyed this. Watched the stream last night. Was nice to see him relaxed and just enjoying himself. He deserves it
Thanks for the time stamps!
The first half of SFII has of the most beautiful beats I've heard in hiphop, that chord progression has the same bassline, but the newly chopped sample voice in the back melts me with the newly ambient strings and other synths, so beautiful. I know 6ix had something to do with this one, I want to cry.🔥🔥 Part 2 of SFI has a special place in my heart, his hunger, and his grit as a youngin, but this SFII is something I'll listen to for a long time.
Horns on man i is are from Outkast's SpottieOttieDopaliscious
from their classic album Aquemini
One of the best comeback albums of all time. Really feels like this was a sequel to under pressure!
Yess!! Love your reaction❤️
Very very enjoyable review.
Amazing review for an amazing album 🙏
This album will go down as one of the best last album a artist probably ever made. Respect for logic
This Jon Denton dude is pretty fast with the reactions
Appreciate the hard workkkkk 💯💯💯
Dude, good Logic album is exactly what i need rn, and seeing you happy listening to it too
One of the best reactions to an album ive ever seen ngl
I’d like to think that whilst he may not be dropping albums he may bless us with some of the beats he’s created🥺. Love the vid ❤️❤️
I just subscribed because I noticed I wasn't Soo yeah I'm a fan brotha thanks for all the reactions. been watching you for almost two years 💯 💯
Can’t tell you how good it feels to feel great about a Logic album. And to have songs a song like Soul Food 2 that just hits you the second it comes on. Having legendary instrumentals and samples is huge for Logic, and I feel like it inspires him to go further with the raps.
Think Logic is just taking a big break, this definitely isn’t the end
Brennan exactly the music industry will force him back this ain’t a cakewalk
Im pretty sure it's the end. If you watched the twitch stream you'd know
Applesauce yeah he said y’all might not believe it but y’all be waiting 5 years and be like oh crap he’s actually is retiring
@Justin Mcwilliams What did he say about Everybody as well? He's gonna be like Jay Z. He's gonna make music but he's not gonna release it like how he has for the past 10 years if you've been a fan that long lol
I can see him come back in the far future for features or something but as far as conceptual albums like this, he knows he’s run out of things to talk about
Hi Jon, the trumpets at 15:17 (man i is) is from Outkast - Spottieottiedopaliscious. It was also sampled for Beyonce's song, Flawless!
You talking about the album cover is what made me realize, it's a play off of the Under Pressure album cover (the standard edition, not deluxe edition). That one was him in the studio/room with everything around him and this one is everything in said room floating up and being relieved. I love it.
Edit: got to the back half of Soulfood 2, and I have to disagree that it's more like what he's been doing the past few years. It's telling the story from Incredible True Story. Unless you've been with him since then or gone back and listened to all those, I understand it would sound more like nonsense. I was just wanting to throw it out there, love the review/reaction. Keep up the great work man.
Great album. Way above my expectations. Logic’s back. He seems relieved.
I wanna see this man put videos up of all his older projects.
On Open Mic he uses the same sample that Kendrick uses on The Heart Part 2. The song that put me and many people on to that legend!
The trumpet sample is from spottieottiedopalicious from outkast, absolute banger of a track
You're one of the most genuine real reactors out there. Cheers mate. Keep doing the good work ✊
This channel is the best 💯
Had to buy the vinyl as my first piece of Logic merch cuz I enjoy the album and I think the album cover is fire
The Logic on this album compared to confessions of a dangerous mind is like two completely different people. I'm so happy Logic brought it back and made a fire album.
Never noticed because I always turned to the deluxe version where he's graffitied on the side of a warehouse. Good catch!
i found your channel from Logic (rock reacts) and infact startedd watching reactions coz of Logic,9/10 of the reaction channels i still watch today i found off logic reactions Rattpack ‼
Great album. Production was off the chain..loved all of the samples, especially the Outkast “Elevators” in GP4. A great tribute to his debut album and his career as a whole. I wish him happiness in his retirement!
That man i is sample was also used on too deep for the intro by cole
Great Review!
Cant explain the relief I felt listening to this album. After rocking with Logic since the mixtapes and his early albums, seeing him grow was surreal. I remember being so excited for Everybody to drop, and remember even more the bitter taste of disappointment that followed. I’m just glad he found a way to please the RattPack in the end. Solid album, up there with Under Pressure and The Incredible True Story imo 💕
Respect the fast upload especially as I’m from the UK
Hey Jon, just wanted to let you know that I respect the fuck out of your work ethic and production rate lately, also love all of your reactions 🤝
I really enjoyed this album, and your reaction to it - I learned a couple of extra things like the GP4 OutKast feature - so thank you for it! This album made me feel happy, just as UP/TITS did. It's a good feeling not to be let down by a Logic project.
My favourite song is Open Mic\\Aquarius III, and Celebration and Soul Food II are up there too. I really felt so much Kanye influence in this album, which is perhaps worn on his sleeve. I feel like there's nothing wrong with that: it'd be hard to create a hip-hop album in Logic's lane at this point without taking influence from Ye in some way.
Production slaps front-to-back. 6ix and No I.D. really pulled their weight in gold.
I don't recognise the trumpet sample sorry mate!
Couldn't score it, but the album will probably grow on me as I digest the lyricism (and as people add interpretations on genius 😁). The first half is definitely stronger than the latter.
The cover art is a reference to the album Under Pressure. Same color palette and each of the objects can be found on both covers.
Jon I love your channel
BEEN WAITING ON THISSSSS
I been with logic since Under Pressure and the call backs to that album naturally as a sequel but the call backs to The incredible true story hit home more. I credit logic with really making rap stick to my music rotation
Logic was one of the rappers that got me through high school I’ll always be a fan I started listening to him when I was 14 now I’m 20
This is perfect
If you pay attention a lot of bars throughout the album are from the no pressure freestyle and connect to it 😱
Love your reactions bro
This is great project overall!
I cried 8 times through out this whole album, this was beautiful

Nah I cried too. You trippin bro, why you hating?
Heard em say is heavily underrated.

You didn’t like one of my comments before lol, but man I’m really digging what your saying during the intro track “no pressure”. It’s like from 2017’s “Everybody” is when he started getting mixed reviews on his projects. YSIV was a glimpse of this new album imo, I enjoyed 2/3’s of it. Confessions in 2019 was just Horrid, I only liked “Homicide” with Shady. Great analysis man.
