MACATTACK it’s not just the lyrics that make it bad, the main criticisms are that he’s trying too hard to be edgy and offensive and production wise it was a rough listen. But I personally liked the album as well.
GOBLIN IS UNDERRATED AF, its not perfect, there's some bad songs, but it has some really good ones too (Goblin, Yonkers, Radicals, She, Nightmare, basically just the first half)

You’ve gotta do Goblin after this. It’s a bit more immature and probably not as good of an album as this, but some absolute gold on that one. Probably my personal fav for nostalgic reasons.

These whole album and especially those three tracks reminds me so much of tame impala in 2012 it just has that bittersweet melancholic psychedelic feel to it, the siund and aesthetics feels lonely combine it with the album cover looking surreal but also very toned down colors. Those three tracks are pretty psychedelic and “lo-fi” with those Pharrell esque midi drums and his usual lead synths and laid back orchestral strings just felt magical
Trashwang was an intentionally "bad" song as it was the members of OddFuture who didn't rap. They were all verses of nonrappers

I love this album not only because I reminds me of when I was younger in middle school. But looking back at it you see all the potential Tyler has. Like when I heard treehome 95, rusty, answer, and lone it blew me away. Great reaction to one of my favorite albums

You should do goblin as it shows a nice bridge from bastard to this, I get the lyrics might be nasty but if you've heard bastard you've heard the worst of it. Goblin's less violent and nasty than Bastard, it's where his music starts to become more melodic and stylistic

YES FINALLY, this is lowkey my favorite Tyler album. like he was mostly past the rape shit at this point, but this was the Loiter Squad era, so he has like a perfect blend of funny and serious on this album. also the instrumentals are so good, obviously FB and IGOR have better production but this album just has a certain vibe to it. so fucking good.
also, i understand u not wanting to do Goblin, but honestly im kinda sad u didnt. the first like half of that album is honestly really good, and besides that it's just such a huge moment in Tyler's career. plus, Bastard Goblin and Wolf are a trilogy, you wont get the whole story without listening to all of them

I’m really disappointed you didn’t do goblin before this Bastard, Goblin, and Wolf all have a narrative together that expresses his mind state in an indirect and creative way so your missing a piece to actually understand the story part and your not seeing his musical progression and maturity from when he was a teenager. It also would’ve made you understand Tyler a little more if you did it in order

There’s like 2-3 songs that allude to “rape” lines but it’s not the whole subject matter. Just shock value don’t take to heart from Tyler. It makes sense for the “characters” he’s portraying
good idea skipping to Wolf, Goblin (aside from She, that song is actually elite) is basically Bastard with higher production value. AKA not that great especially with the hindsight from every album released after it.
