What happened to the Buffalo Tremor?

After Equalizer wrecked, I noticed that Allen Pezo was one of the first people on the scene. I'm guessing he was there helping out, as he wasn't racing there.

Allen Pezo also was one of the first people to run over at Rod Litzau's USA-1 crush the night earlier.

Army's comments at 7:40... sad and ironic decades into Barnum & Bailey's Monster Jam era :(

For consistency & trying to figure up the math on this points series: in the beginning of the video Army says Equalizer will get no points & no money for crashing during qualifying (despite laying down one of the fastest runs). Then at the end during the points recap she says Porter gains only nine points on equalizer after winning the entire event. Based on those numbers with the point totals in consideration of how many events they ran this year, well, none of that adds up. Anyone know where the flaw or flaws are? Or to keep it simpler, does anyone know the scoring system?

So I looked at the points before and after the race:
      Before:
      1. Equalizer 671
      2. Carolina 615
      3. USA-1 522
      After:
      1. Equalizer 675
      2. Carolina 632
      3. USA-1 525
From this we can assume they get 3 points for starting a round, thus why USA-1 got 3 points.
If, in fact Equalizer was the fast qualifier, that was worth 4 points, as I think only the fast qualifier got points.
Plus, Kris Chapman had so much misinformation over her career, as well as Scott and Army, but not near as much. There is a show where they break down the points, but I can't remember for sure which one.

@@maverick12212000 I appreciate the feedback and effort to clarify. I struggle with the inconsistencies of what Army says versus what the points before and after say. According to this before/after (and your clarification), Equalizer got 4 points for being the fast qualifier despite Army saying that he got no points. At three points per round, Gary would have earned 12, but the before/after has him moving 17 points. I suppose there could be a 5 point event winning bonus, but even with those assumptions, none of the math adds up to Gary gaining 9 points on Equalizer as stated by Army (12-4=8, 17-4=13). (sigh) Again, it's the inconsistencies that are frustrating. But thank you for your efforts. Ultimately, it appears that if we don't listen to anything Army says and just look at the graphics, things will be much more clear.

@@maverick12212000 based on memory from what I've seen on other boards and how I've followed the points sometime; the points worked from 5 down to 1 for top 5 qualifying. Grave Digger or Equalizer was supposed to have gotten 5 and there was an oops in tallying I think. Or since Equalizer missed round 1 it had a point reduced but that seems odd. But besides that each win was worth 5 points and a loss was worth 3. Which is why if you lost in round 1 and came back in round 2 you could get a total of 6 points for losing both. I also want to point out that Porter had a total of 637 points after this race, not 632. That's a typo from the above comment. Gary got 22 (20+2) points total meaning he was 4th fastest in qualifying which was confirmed by looking at round 1 brackets (He was moved up one bracket position for Equalizer not being in the event, so qualifying probably went Equalizer, Digger, Krunch, Crusher, and Outlaw). For comparison, Grave Digger went from 399 to 411 points, meaning +5 (or +4) for qualifying + 8 racing. One round one win (bye), and a second round loss. And that's what happened. Night Life went from 338 to 351. 13 points. Two rounds of wins and a loss in the semis, and that's what happened. Clydesdale went from 234 to 242: One round win and a loss.
This means that qualifying + races were worth a total of 25 points for winning everything + pole. If you lost in round 1 and didn't come back you got 3 total (which is what happened to USA-1 and Mad Dog in this event). There may have been some bonuses in there as well for ET but I don't remember that being specified and it's not shown up in other calculations I've done. But this is what I have from memory and other calculated race, I believe Charleston in 1990 was what I used to calculate from a blank slate.

@@tsmitty777 TSmitty Thank you, I understand everything you explained. That was very clear and concise. I recently went through all of the races this past summer (with a points system), so I likely won't do it again in the very near future. But I always come back to these years, and when I do I will certainly apply your system over a few races (or more likely all of them) to see how it pans out. I really appreciate the knowledge though. It's always great to see a fan who enjoyed this era as well and is knowledgeable of how it functioned. As Richard Leak would say, "We'll see you on the track!"
