You just pulled a memory from my brain of my dad taking me on some back roads to pick mulberries and dewberries as a young child. My mom would make cobbler with them. Hard to imagine it's been 50 yrs ago, back road is now a subdivision and the tree is long gone. Thanks for sharing this Silas!
Good job teaching your children food doesn't always come for a supermarket. Actually I don't think people call it that anymore. My big Mulberry died a couple of years ago but I have a small one that popped up. Your daughter is so pretty, like mama and Bennet is your mini me. What a beautiful family.
It is a lot of fun watching you and your daughter picking berries together. Black raspberry plants by me in central Illinois are growing out of control! Thanks for the fun adventure Silas!
Its good to see kids enjoying life, I love children we had 3girls and 2 boys, we dont have mulberrys in south Ms and Al that i know of I'll have to try that when i can find some mulberrys, good video's Silas
Got a great helper and professional taster there. looked delicious My Dalmatians love mulberries! They vacuum them up as they go on their walk, right off the road.
Man I'm so impressed Silas. No you don't have to await anybody's opinion or vote of confidence on your fatherhood. You and your daughter demonstrate you're a great father! It is so refreshing to see this in today's world. Keeping it positive here. Thanks for sharing. Share a short story.. while shopping I saw this little girl probably 2 years old maybe 3. Setting in a shopping cart. And I told the person I was with that my wife would love this little girl.. No I'm not comparing this little girl to your little girl. The grandfather said yeah you would for a little while. I smiled and said thank you sir. But I don't see you sending her back anytime soon. He laughed and said no that's not happening. Kids can be ornery. Children can be sweet. All in the same 5 seconds! But kids do grow up. Seems like they asked for the car keys and drive away much too soon. Great memory the two of you will have from here on out. 👍🥇
These videos make me smile and I am so happy to see you spending the quality time with your children. We don’t have kiddos, but these are a reminder for me of my youth. May God continue to bless you and your family. Peace
here in the UK, we call that a crumble and we serve it with custard. it won't be long before our brambles/black berries will be ready for harvesting, so i'll be cooking a crumble myself. great vid Silas.
Yummie! That cake looks really good. I hope it tasted good. In your yard you have so much space, you should plant some fruit trees and or bushes there. Those mulberries look a lot like blackberries, but they are a bit longer. Is there much difference in taste? Thanks again for your video. I enjoyed it. 🍰😎👍
Blackberries are common here in the wild, Mulberries a little less so. You can buy them, though. And yes, when they are ripe, they are indeed delicious. The blacker the tastier.
When stayed in Alabama my heritage mom would make a black berry stew we would going the pasture me and my sister some of cows would get u had to be alert the horses would bother you and some homemade biscuits talking about something good I really miss those days mom is gone and to of sister and Baby brother
I haven't had mulberries in decades. One of my girlfriend's aunts had a Mulberry tree. Unfortunately the new owners of the property, didn't know what they had and cut the trees down.
I HATE the mulberry trees at my house! Someone let them grow WAY too big and over the house so they're a pain to manage and I keep cutting them back, but they grow back even stronger! I didn't see any fruit this year. I think it was the 2nd or 3rd year I lived here before they grew fruit and I thought it was hailing one day as I kept hearing things clunking on my roof. Looked out and saw the berries all over the ground and were clogging up my gutters as well!
They can really be a pain in the wrong spots. We had them growing in the fence when I lived at home as a teenager. Fortunately these aren't hurting anything out in the junkyard.
my 2 biggest regrets in life are a little counter-intuitive. 1st is marrying who I did and 2nd is not having kids. Great to see you enjoying those moments!
As always another enjoyable video I shared this one with my wife she enjoys video about nature and cooking Im hoping that I can get her to subscribe to this channel too
These simple things leave a memory that last forever. Good times!!

Thank you Silas . Your new helper will work for mullberries❤❤😂😂.
"Are you eating those off the ground? ". Yep, she says. Too cute, Silas. Love it.
Excellent video 😊

It’s funny, we out here have fruitless mulberry trees, real shallow roots and real big shade leaves, nice , thanks BigAl California.
You probably have a male mulberry tree.
More than just iron and steel in the background of the yards...
Quality time with the youngin...

We not only make cake and muffins with mulberries we make pies, jelly, perseves, syrup, wine, and liquor with them
That reminds me of when I was a kid and sitting in a mates tree eating mulberries. And look on Ady’s face waiting to taste your cake, so cool.
Boy that looks good!
I bet a scoop of vanilla ice cream would really set ot off!
Awesome always thanks

Quite a bit different in taste. Both have that dark berry flavor but I'd say blackberries taste sweeter.
Blackberries are common here in the wild, Mulberries a little less so. You can buy them, though. And yes, when they are ripe, they are indeed delicious. The blacker the tastier.
Looks tasty where is the ice cream Silas French vanilla 😅
It's called melding when you leave food sit, the flavors meld together to increase It's taste
Theirs nothing better in life then picking fresh fruit or veg with a grandchild
When stayed in Alabama my heritage mom would make a black berry stew we would going the pasture me and my sister some of cows would get u had to be alert the horses would bother you and some homemade biscuits talking about something good I really miss those days mom is gone and to of sister and Baby brother

I just love your daughters name it sounds colonial
We actually made it up. Couldn't decide on Elise or Adeline, so we put the 2 together and named her Adelise.
I've got the white mulberry tree and they are very white when they are good to eat, look a kind of crossbreeding but I'm not an expert :)
I have a mulberry tree, but as soon as they start getting ripe, the birds get them before I do
You can start a cooking channel now.....Junkyard dining made from Scratch....
