I have a great idea for your shelves…we have the same shelves and to combat cans falling ans having to lay boxes down, I went to Lowe’s/Home Depot and bought a few sheets (4’ x 8’) of white bead board. Cut them to fit the shelves and notched out the corners to go around the poles. It not only allows everything to stack better, but it looks good too. Will look nice in your pantry room. Feel free to comment back and I’d love to share a few pics of our shelves.

Great video. I love seeing other families be prepared. It does save money in the long run. I don't think ppl realize how much growing kids eat! I am definitely feeling the squeeze but I am still able to provide for my boys. I pray it gets better too. ❤
What people don’t get is at any moment people can get laid off 🤦🏽♀️ Someone can get sick and have to stop working. Life happens and you should always be prepared. My cousin husband just got laid off he makes really Good money and now he not working. This all happen out of no where they let go of a few and he was one of them she so grateful that they have a saving account and they are very well stock up on food / household items and personal hygiene stuff.
People that fuss at the quantity have never experienced the ability to just run to food storage and have everything there. It’s soooo nice. Also better to buy it while you have the money because you NEVER know what will happen in the future.

On the rotisserie chicken your paying more for convenience. Pick up a rotisserie chicken from Costco for $4.99 and shred it yourself. I buy 2 shred both and put it in the freezer. It takes time but it’s worth it not to pay $35.00.

I agree with you about your food market, I have one in my third bedroom, and I love being able to shop my market first before going to the grocery store, it saves so much time and money. I used to do a little stock up when I couponed, and when I became ill, it really saved me from worrying about buying non-perishables. But I stopped, then when covid hit and I saw all the emptiness in the stores, it revived the need to stock up again. I have kind of slacked off again lately, but watching your videos has reminded me to get back on it. People don't get rid of your canned goods because of dates, it says best by, NOT consumed by, that's the manufacturers wanting you to throw away perfectly good food to keep buying more.Thank you for the reminder to keep stocking.
We've always kept a pantry. Grandma went through the great depression and learned that it is the best way to ensure that families have what they need, at all times. I'm in Canada and don't understand why you're having to pay so much for mushrooms. In general, food prices are more expensive here, not so with the mushrooms, and that is for the bigger cans, no small size ones available. My recommendation is to check out the Costco price for a case. I don't usually need to but when the prices are high I go the Costco route. If memory serves, it usually breaks down to about $1.20 a can. The alternative would be to watch for case lot sales.

When I consider "expiration" dates, I think about what is in the product that might expire. Tabasco sauce is vinegar and pepper... sealed, and even opened without cross-contamination, there's no reason it would go off at any point!

My mother use to save her leftover coffee in ice cube trays. When she made a big pot she would add one cube to her cup to cool it down and in the summer she always had tall glasses of iced coffee. This was 60 years ago!

We are in the middle of a remodel so we don’t have room to stock up anymore. I’m missing it SO much! I’m so annoyed every time I turn around and we are out of something just when I thought ok we should be good for the week. 😅 hopefully somewhat soon I should be able to stock up again. Did you know Taco seasoning comes in a huge 24oz? That’s one thing I switched to when we started making taco soup and tacos frequently so I could have a big thing on hand and run out of it less frequently.

I started buying my mushrooms from the dollar tree. They are in a jar but 7 oz jar for 1.25. My husband loves mushrooms so I keep a stock pile for him. I just discovered these at dollar tree this past weekend and thought I would pass it. I also buy my shelf stable milk from there because it’s just my husband and I and if I buy a half gallon it goes bad before I use it up so to me it’s best to get the shelf stable stuff.

Love it!! Don't let others tell you how to spend your money. You are buying food for your family. Are they paying your bills, no. Then if they think you are wasting your money, they should watch a few other RUclipsrs who DO waste food. One family spends at least $3000 a week on junk food.
You grocery store is no different that a coupon stock pile. Coupon person takes a bit to stock up. but you did your in a few shopping trips. It’s not wasting money it’s stocking up. Sales rotate every 6 weeks. And expensive as everything has gotten it’s a good thing. I did my list and adding extra stuff that I know is going on sale to my pantry. Keep it up. All of My this Week’s purchases were 50% off or at less on Sale. Since 1992, when I Was making less Money, I have tracked both My Expenditures and Savings. At the end of the 12 Months, I found, Across the Board, that My Savings far outweighed My Spending. Due this type of Mentality, I established My Retirement Wealth within 15 Years. Let’s remember! Humans only criticize what They don’t understand or fail to have the Wherewithal to even Try.
We were raised to stock up due to job loss, weather, illness. You never know especially Italian we gather a lot , big family small family. It’s just easier less stressful to be prepared. Less waste gas and time running to the store .
I would do this 1 if I had room. I don’t even have the space and no need for it now. Two I am down to the last one at home, and we just don’t eat that much anymore. However, I do this with household items.
Have you tried unisom? I have severe insomnia and it’s the only thing that works for me and it’s extremely safe, safe for pregnancies and non habit forming!
I am on prescription sleep meds as well and the doctor said I can take zzzquil with my meds…I also take melatonin….it takes a village to knock me out🤣😂😆

We will do another stock up when we are low and running out of items. This stock up will last about a year for some items. We normally do our largest grocery haul once a year.😊

I have heard last year2023 , grocery prices will go up in 2024 and 2025 , I don't know how true it is. And if you can buy items that will last long , why not buy it cheaper before the prices goes up. I make my own taco seasoning, I like it better. ( *Anything, I say, don't take it personal* ) . Because, I know everyone likes something different.
I know time is money, and you have a job and family, but I get fresh sliced mushrooms at Aldi when the price is right, cook and freeze. MUCH better flavor -- canned mushrooms just don't compare in flavor and texture. And it's cheaper. I also make my own chicken broth, just the bones and skin from whatever chicken I ate along with vegetable scraps that I freeze as I go along. You can just dump in a crock pot. Of course you do pay for convenience -- that shredded chicken is a good example. I frankly can't imagine paying $9 something a pound for that. Of course we all have different priorities so if it all works for you, great.

Good for 9 months or more. Of course, if you are waiting for the end of the world, anything frozen may not be a smart option in which case canned may be better.

If you have leftover of your Mississippi pot roast, you can save the juice from the pot and make Italian dip sandwiches. Add your meat to a sub roll, toss on some provolone cheese, toss into the oven to melt the cheese, then use the left over sauce to dip it in to.

When I consider "expiration" dates, I think about what is in the product that might expire. Tabasco sauce is vinegar and pepper... sealed, and even opened without cross-contamination, there's no reason it would go off at any point!

My mother use to save her leftover coffee in ice cube trays. When she made a big pot she would add one cube to her cup to cool it down and in the summer she always had tall glasses of iced coffee. This was 60 years ago!

Hi. I have a great idea for your shelves…we have the same shelves and to combat cans falling ans having to lay boxes down, I went to Lowe’s/Home Depot and bought a few sheets (4’ x 8’) of white bead board. Cut them to fit the shelves and notched out the corners to go around the poles. It not only allows everything to stack better, but it looks good too. Will look nice in your pantry room. Feel free to comment back and I’d love to share a few pics of our shelves.

We are in the middle of a remodel so we don’t have room to stock up anymore. I’m missing it SO much! I’m so annoyed every time I turn around and we are out of something just when I thought ok we should be good for the week. 😅 hopefully somewhat soon I should be able to stock up again. Did you know Taco seasoning comes in a huge 24oz? That’s one thing I switched to when we started making taco soup and tacos frequently so I could have a big thing on hand and run out of it less frequently.

I started buying my mushrooms from the dollar tree. They are in a jar but 7 oz jar for 1.25. My husband loves mushrooms so I keep a stock pile for him. I just discovered these at dollar tree this past weekend and thought I would pass it. I also buy my shelf stable milk from there because it’s just my husband and I and if I buy a half gallon it goes bad before I use it up so to me it’s best to get the shelf stable stuff.

You grocery store is no different that a coupon stock pile. Coupon person takes a bit to stock up. but you did your in a few shopping trips. It’s not wasting money it’s stocking up. Sales rotate every 6 weeks. And expensive as everything has gotten it’s a good thing. I did my list and adding extra stuff that I know is going on sale to my pantry. Keep it up. Since 1992, when I Was making less Money, I have tracked both My Expenditures and Savings. At the end of the 12 Months, I found, Across the Board, that My Savings far outweighed My Spending. Due this type of Mentality, I established My Retirement Wealth within 15 Years. Let’s remember! Humans only criticize what They don’t understand or fail to have the Wherewithal to even Try.
We were raised to stock up due to job loss, weather, illness. You never know especially Italian we gather a lot , big family small family. It’s just easier less stressful to be prepared. Less waste gas and time running to the store .

I am on prescription sleep meds as well and the doctor said I can take zzzquil with my meds…I also take melatonin….it takes a village to knock me out🤣😂😆

May I asked if you go through all the food before you do another big stock? I know you will use it but if you use 2 of something do you replace it as you use it or is there another stock up in a year or so?
We will do another stock up when we are low and running out of items. This stock up will last about a year for some items. We normally do our largest grocery haul once a year.😊
Spaghetti sauce is cheaper in the cans. Same amount as in glass jars.

I do take melatonin, zzzquil and my prescribed medication. I have a severe case. My prescription is the cheapest of all🤣😆😂

1Tbsp onion powder 3 Tbsp
1 tsp salt 3 tsp
.5 tsp black pepper 1 1/2 tsp
To make dressing use 1/4 cup ranch mix
1 cup mayo 1/2 cup sour cream
1/2 cup milk chill in refrigerator for 2 hrs
To make dip 1/4 cup ranch mix
1 cup sour cream if to thick thin
With milk
To make Mexican ranch dressing
Use salsa instead of milk
I get my powdered buttermilk off Amazon make sure you get the shelf stable or you will have to keep the powder in the fridge I use Hoosier the measurements in front single recipe the measurements after is this recipe x 3 enjoy we love it. I got this recipe from a wonderful lady she also has a RUclips channel Jeni Gough she has wonderful recipes

I have heard last year2023 , grocery prices will go up in 2024 and 2025 , I don't know how true it is.
And if you can buy items that will last long , why not buy it cheaper before the prices goes up.

I know time is money, and you have a job and family, but I get fresh sliced mushrooms at Aldi when the price is right, cook and freeze. MUCH better flavor -- canned mushrooms just don't compare in flavor and texture. And it's cheaper. I also make my own chicken broth, just the bones and skin from whatever chicken I ate along with vegetable scraps that I freeze as I go along. You can just dump in a crock pot. Of course you do pay for convenience -- that shredded chicken is a good example. I frankly can't imagine paying $9 something a pound for that. Of course we all have different priorities so if it all works for you, great.

@@thefarmhousetable3608 You have to cook them first since they have a lot of water. Saute until done, spread on cookie sheet lined with parchment until frozen and put in bags. Take out what you need. Good for 9 months or more. Of course, if you are waiting for the end of the world, anything frozen may not be a smart option in which case canned may be better.

They both like Zucchini bread though. I have two Sons my oldest son died on May the 29th I’m not going to stop loving him are pretend he didn’t exist I still have 2 sons I just got Shawn’s ashes last week

If you have leftover of your Mississippi pot roast, you can save the juice from the pot and make Italian dip sandwiches. Add your meat to a sub roll, toss on some provolone cheese, toss into the oven to melt the cheese, then use the left over sauce to dip it in to.

I personally think that the food prices went up during Covid and stayed up for no reason. Companies saw that consumers would pay the prices so kept them high. Price gouging at its finest.
The prices definitely have not lowered since then….so sad 😔
