- My take on this masterpiece of a song. Every section here seems to be crafted meticulously--every change and variation a constant serpentine shifting that grows on itself. I left some mistakes in here but it was my third time playing the song in full, and I felt pretty good about it.
Guitar tablature (PDF, GP5, GP7):

Guitar tab for both parts is now available in the video description! Now you can also give yourself tendonitis in style.
🖤
You sir...are a real one!
🖤
Incredible stuff. Not a single weak moment on Everything is Fire. Possibly my favourite album ever.
Unreal. How did they even write this. How do they write any of their material? Unreal playing as always.
That Ved Buens Ende shirt 😍
YES someone else knows about them - that album is the tits
I'm wearing that shirt right now
yes
It's not every day you see a Ved Buens Ende T-shirt!
Absolutely monstrous cover! I got tendonitis just watching!
Wow nice work. Even attempt this would be nuts. I know the drummer is the goat but people sleep on these insane riffs.
Also your t shirt is great. Keep up the good work!
Good cover, this was the song that finally made dissonant metal click for me
2:43 literally one of my favorite metal riffs of all time
Sick!!!!!!!!!!
This is the best thing you've ever done bro. Jesus christ. My jaw is on the floor. 10/10
That sequence from 5:17 on is just classic, everything culminating. Awesome cover as usual man!
Unbelievable skills bro
I don't think there are any covers of Ulcerate on youtube that aren't of excellent quality. Well done!
It's nice seeing a guitar cover with an actually solid recording of the amp. And for a dope ass song.
Feels like a well orchestrated chaos
Thank you for covering Ulcerate. More please! :D
beautiful guitar! This cover is ridiculous. It's so nice to see how this kind of DM is played. extremely interesting. amazing job
Incredible. I hear new bands on this page and love it. But would not be mad at more Ulcerate!
ULCERATE AGAIN!!! I LOVE YOU !!
This one looks pretty fun, good job
Gives me a feeling of silent hill.
A dark, creepy technical masterpiece.
Been wanting to see a guitar cover of this ever since I first heard this song, as I find seeing it played makes it easier to follow wtf is going on, very nice!
Im speechles bro. Fantastic! More Ulcerate please!
Excellent playing bro, definitely my favourite guitar channel, your music taste is on point!
1:55-2:03 such eloquent left hand work...
Bro ,at the moment im so stoned to tell you what masterpiece you reproduce. And Holy fuck ,you slay.
hahahah
Holy shit Oleg, you did it again. Amazing!
God bless you.
I've wanted to take a stab at this sometime, but never quite worked up the courage.
Absolutely bonkers as always
Such a surprisingly creative and complicated presentation of the melody 😮❤🎉
Great cover! This deserves WAY more likes. I can't believe how cool it was of you to include the tablature in the details section. My favorite guitar player on youtube by far. I'll have a lot of fun trying to wrap my mind around these for a while. I love Ulcerate. If you have any tips on figuring out their song "Abrogation", I'm all ears.
Cheers man, I'm very humbled to hear all that! Some general transcribing tips I can provide are:
- dive headfirst into ear training if you haven't already
- live and breath the exercises that you come across
- try to use a DAW (or program like Transcribe) to explore the panning of a song and the whole spectrum of sound in general when trying to figure out individual parts
@@noobsauce That's a lot of great information! Thanks for such a quick response!
I sincerely appreciate it. It's not every day you get that sort of interaction with people who are actually in the bands you listen to on a regular basis.
I'll have to download the software, and see if I can't pull it off.
Cheers Oleg!
would love to see another ulcerate cover
I'd love to do something off Vermis, specifically Confronting Entropy. But from what I understand, they use various tunings on that album and that just makes an already difficult transcribing job way more complex. I tried learning it before and was puzzled right off the bat, the notes I'm hearing and the shapes needed to play em in standard tuning make the parts impossible.
The one and only EVERYTHING is FIRE!!!!...my all time favorite album by my all time favorite artists....Hope one day you cover Caecus (my first ulcerate song i truly LOVE)or The IMPERIOUS WEAK (maybe their BEST song?for me atleast)..awsome as usual oleg!!!
isaac dissonance
@@depthsofabjection yep....
My fav yt guitarist. Beautiful as always 👍
Absolutely amazing
Ulcerate, yes!!! Great cover, dude!
This is awesome!! Any chance you could cover Dissolved Orders?
Great stuff!
So sick, please please please do some stuff from the new album or shrines of paralysis!
Could not stop frowning
Sick cover, sick guitar, sick Ved Buens Ende shirt!
Amazing !
Dude... wow!
Please move to NZ/Aus and join Ulcerate. Thanks
Elite execution 🤘 Finally I can remotely visualize how these parts are being played 🙄🤷🏻♂️
I could only by ear figure out like 38% of this song...
There got to be parts in other songs that are looped as he plays over them🤷🏻♂️🙄
Simply beyond me with some of his parts 🤔
You just killed this man 👌🤘👍
Great job!
That was mesmerizing to watch holy shit. I was sad when it ended lmfao.
Amazing! 🤘🏻💀
Oleg,thanks! It's next bomb!!!
Love the ved buens ende shirt
Dude is that a strap out of stretching fabric? Sick cover. This album and the one after it are the best ones they did in my opinion.
It is! It's the No 1 Stretch Strap. A fair warning if you try it, it's very long. I made a custom hole higher up on the leather to compensate, and I'm a fairly lanky person at a 6' height.
immaculate
Great cover!! Great Tshirt!!
Ved buens Ende shirt? Man you earned a new subscriber
new artificial brain please
Absolutely sick dude! Wich brand of guitar are you using here?
Thank you! 🙏 It's an Ormsby Hype 7
@@noobsauce oh i see, very sick looking axe dude!
have you tried to figure out the opening riff for ulcerate - confronting entropy ? id love to see you cover this song , ive been trying to figure it out for years now.
That's one of my favorite Ulcerate songs, and I remember getting frustrated trying to figure that song out when it was released. Might have to give it a go again. Are they tuned to Drop A on that one?
@@noobsauce i know they are tuned lower on that album then the others for a few of the songs i read that in an interview. you can see the chord positioning pretty clear in this live video. even seeing this video i still couldnt figure it out !! ruclips.net/video/GwIYYCoEn1E/видео.html
Well done! Did you tab the thing by any chance?
Thank you! I haven't tabbed it yet, but I plan on tabbing it and sharing here soon.
@@noobsauceOlegggg please share the tabs when you did "crying"
@@noobsauce
@@noobsauce I still got the tab from rivers of gore laying around here, if you're interested. Seems pretty accurate.
@@UweKowski sure, I'll take a look at it! My cover is just my own interpretation, so I'm curious what others had in mind. Feel free to link up with me on facebook.
Also, I'll still be sharing my tab here. I have Guitar Right fully done, just need to learn the left side's parts.
Insane, that tone is so sick what are you using for an amp?
Complex unreal 😯 piece of devastating death metal
And kittens get millions of views.🤯
Sludge Metal meets with Death Metal
More like Post rock meets blackened abstract death metal
All the sick songs you are playing , have been made by ear ?
Not all, but most from the last 7+ years
I absolutely love Ulcerate, but the production on their albums is so impenetrable I am barely able to make out riffs. Do you have any tips/tricks for tabbing out their songs, or is it just years of practice and ear training/tabbing songs?
I would argue that the production on Ulcerate's albums is relatively clear. The difficulty in making out the guitar parts mostly lies in the disharmonic intervals creating jagged frequency vibrations that, mixed with heavy distortion, can amplify the subfrequencies produced by that dissonant clashing. If this sounds like some kind of black magic, look up the harmonic overtone series, it should shed some light.
And definitely the years of practice help, the only way to get your ear sharper is by using it over and over.
@@noobsauce Yes. When you have one guitar playing both very low and high notes, what ends up happening with the overtones that are produced by both notes is that the distortion creates an affect of "ghost frequencies" being present in the sound, which can make it like you are hearing 50 different things, whereas it might be as little as 2 or three. But, if you ask me, bands like Ad Nauseam have much better production when it comes to such sounds compared to Ulcerate.
@@viki2133 very true, especially in Ad Nauseam's case! Those guys have probably the clearest natural production I've heard in extreme metal
@@noobsauce bruh, covers from the new ad nauseam album when? I really can't wait to see you unravel that shit. It's so chaotic.
Sub Specie Aeternitatis or the title track would be fucking great choices
@@noobsauce Oh and as fucking hard as that sounds, id love to see you record left and right guitars in separate takes, cause the guitars are never doing the same thing. like rarely do they match up the entire album
Any plans on doing something off the new Ulcerate album? And how's the recording of the new AB going, I spoke with Colin a few weeks back that you guys were pretty much almost done?
I'm not a fan of Ulcerate's continued direction post-EiF, so no covers. Maybe I'll do Confronting Entropy or Vermis one day, those songs are bangers.
And new Arti B is super close to being done! There have been a lot of real life obstacles, not including covid, that have slowed down the recording process over the past few years. But we're finding the extra time has brought forth new elements that aren't present on the first two albums, and we're extremely excited for everyone to hear these songs.
Oleg have you listened to the new Suffering Hour it's sick
yep, album rules
@espertie Thanks for naming the band.
nice cover. That's an Ormsby guitar isn't it?
Thank you! It sure is, it's a run 2 Hype

It feels odd to see you playing a 7 string guitar including the 7th string. :D
Did you learn this by ear?
Yeah
@@noobsauce H O W ?
@@hk-4738 just have to slowly chip away at learning things by ear over and over and continuously step out of your comfort zone. Over time, that comfort zone grows larger.
Taking music theory and ear training courses in high school helped big time. Interval recognition through melodic and harmonic dictation exercises will go a long way in opening your mind's ear. It sounds new-agey, but you can actually develop a sense of pitch recognition that allows you to feel chords first rather than hearing them.
All that + knowing what is or isn't possible on guitar, I can whittle down what's happening close enough most of the time.
I also use a program called Transcribe! that allows me to focus on any point of the L to R stereo panning spectrum, loop parts, slow things down, pitch shift, etc. It also has a 20-band EQ that I can sweep through or low/high pass to "remove" low and high frequency signals, bringing the mids (mostly guitars) to the forefront. The more I manipulate the track, the less clear the audio comes through, so it's a bit of a balancing act. All these features are available with any standard DAW, but Transcribe!'s UI is stupid simple and allows me to focus solely on transcribing.
I'm happy to help with any more insights if you have questions, I love nerding out about this stuff.
On a side note; what guitar model is that? I looks pretty sick.

Broooo what are your 6505 settings???? 🥹
I'm actually using amp sims here, Line 6 Helix Native plugin in Cubase. My signal chain is noise gate - Hedgehog OD pedal (Ibanez TS9) - ANGL Meteor (ENGL Fireball) - Ownhammer IR of Mesa Boogie - light reverb
Tab link down for free users. Could you maybe reup on one drive or something else?
Thanks for bringing that to my attention. I'll have this re-uploaded by tomorrow. Sorry about that!
@@noobsauce or just upload to ultimate guitar as with your older videos.... Sad no one did the newer albums. Ulcerate is not the easiest stuff to figure out even if being used to the style. You helped me out a lot with those older ones.
@@TriInfinity ultimate guitar is the worst, I stopped uploading there after repeatedly declined tab submissions. They don't care about accuracy of tabs, and they require tabs to be submitted with full instrumentation
Updated the link to a Google Drive folder, let me know if you're having any issues downloading/viewing.
Yo! Do you have any interest in doing online lessons if you don’t already?
I unfortunately do not have the time for any lessons. Maybe if I can break out of the 9-5 cycle, one day!
