  • Install and demo of a Nilight 22” light bar on my 2015 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk. I’ve posted links below of the lightbar and what I used for this install if anyone is interested. Makes a HUGE difference and I am very happy with the way that it all turned out.
Nilight 22in 27000lm triple row lightbar
    amzn.to/3NTFEEA
    Nilight wiring harness
    amzn.to/3NTFz3K
    SPST Switch
    amzn.to/3AEAn0N
    LASFIT 9012/HIR2 LED Headlight Kit
    amzn.to/3ItI0ZC
LASFIT 5202/PSX24W/5200/5201/9009 LED Fog Light Bulbs
    amzn.to/3yZio3C
The extra bolts and wire taps were bought at my local hardware store. As a side note drilling the new holes into the nilight mounts was not bad at all since I believe they are made of aluminum. I was able to do both of the new holes with my cordless drill in about 5 minutes.
Check out my other video of this same route with the stock headlights for comparison.

I have to say I love that little storage compartment in my trailhawk. It's out of the way enough that anyone who doesn't know about it likely won't find it, but convenient enough to hold a fair amount of spare bills or change or whatever. Putting the 'go/no-go' switch in there is a fantastic idea.

Mounted mine in the same spot but took the time to weld up some mounts with angle iron so it doesn’t bounce around on the honey Comb grill , went through a different grommet though as my two way radio line is through the main one

Thank you very much for this vid!! I'm installing a bar today on my wife's 2016 Trailhawk. The Trailhawks stock lights are the worst I have ever seen on any vehicle in my life. I have no idea how they were able to produce a vehicle with them...dangerously bad. Now I here the new Trailhawks lights are phenomenal...go figure

This got me thinking. I was going to install my 20" on the bottom of the bumper, but now seeing your install I can do the same but on the out side of the honey cone prob. Will have to pick up some washers but think I can do the same and just run the wire through one of the cones up to my power distrubution system I installed the other day to handle the bar and future lights.

Hey I know this video is from a while ago, I was wondering how you Accessed the high beam wire (green/white) also, I’m new to electrical work so I’m not sure how you did the toggle in the driver side bucket thing but it’s a great idea and I’d like to do it myself. If you see this and remember that’s be great

I have a 2014 and have not found a direct replacement LED headlight bulb. I have been using Sylvania ZXE and they have lasted to 11 and 13 months. What LED fits in a Cherokee without major modification?

Returned my 32 inch light bar in exchange for a 22 inch after seeing this video. Reason being I have a trailhawk as well. What size washers did you use to fasten up front?

    • @Type5Reviews
      @Type5Reviews  Год назад

I don’t quite remember. They may have been 1.5” or 1.25” fender washers. I took the mounting bolt with me when picking out a washer to make sure it would fit…I actually used the light on the inside of the grill for several years with no issues. Recently had to replace the radiator, so I took it back off and then remounted it on the outside of the grill this time. It is even brighter mounting it outside rather than behind the grill but either way is better than the stock headlights.

@HogsFan91 You need a proper mopar canbus harness meant for adding led/ HID lights in place of halogen.
Newer models that come with LEDs already I believe don’t need this. Did my 2012 ram, dads 2015 ram, and few other mopars used the same harness for all and has never had an issue since.
Is about $100cad per harness though

That green connector pictured has 3 wires coming from it. The black is ground, the white with blue stripe is for the low beam and the white with green stripe is used to activate the high beam solenoid. It’s the white and green wire that you want to tap into.

That’s an ugly way of doing the wiring and that light bar will be bouncing every time off the honeycomb grill should’ve mounted it to a more secure spot and bad spot for the toggle switch
