I saw ONE labor nurse who they said was always close w/weight. She guessed 7.5 and baby was 7.12oz. But I have literally tons of friends who were told an “oh no, baby is giant” and babies were all 7-7.5…maybe to 8…normal.

I was told my baby was going to be a nice 7 lb baby and he came out 9 lbs 12 oz😂. It can go both ways though. I don’t think there’s an accurate way to know until you know if genetically you have big babies which my husband and my families bth tend to have

They did that to me on my third. My second was 9lbs 9 oz. They said this one is way bigger. She was only 8 lbs 2 ounces. Don’t let them scare ya.
Same happened to me 40+ years ago. My first baby was 8lbs 10oz (emergency C-Section). Second baby the dr said would be at least 9 lbs. He weighed 5lbs 13oz. He was 3 weeks early due to my water leaking. Found out my placenta had stop growing at 36 weeks. Another emergency C-Section. My pelvic bones wouldn't budge and after 17 hrs of non stop labor my first was born with a cone head due to her desperately trying to get out 😅. Her head was perfectly round the next day. Baby boy weighed 8lbs at 1 month. He caught up very fast. 😅
My baby boy was 4lb 4oz at full term, they measured him 'normal' all the way through, so your little man will hopefully be 'normal' weight/size for your body. Pray for a smooth and safe delivery for you both 💙
i’m a smaller person and had an 11 pound baby. 😂 He’s 6 foot 3 now.
It was so sweet to see your parents, Tiffany. You can tell how excited they both are with the impending birth of their grandchild.
And that quilt your grandmother made was absolutely beautiful. It would be amazing hanging on the wall so the little guy can look at it. Use it to bring him home then put it on a wooden rod to hang in baby's room. What a priceless gift. So excited for you both. Can't believe he's almost here.

Don't worry. Dog will love baby because dog loves you. We had a cat that bit my mom because she reached into the bassinet to get our 1st. Same cat helped teach him to crawl.
My daughter was scheduled for a C-section with her first baby and the night before they did an ultrasound and he was still breach and the next day when they checked, he was head down so she chose to have a natural birth. I guess it’s up to the babies lol But seriously, the nurses really were awesome and they would come in every so often and reposition her and I think that helped the baby turn

Most babies turn down between 35-37 weeks I think. I heard a wives tale that if you go on your hands and knees and clean the base boards that the gravity helps baby to reposition itself and it worked for me! For a hospital bag - a few cute baby outfits for photos, and whatever you want to be comfy or if you plan to breast feed maybe bring a robe, slippers, towels, toiletries, anything you would bring if you were staying at a hotel for a few days. Most hospitals have the tee shirt onesies with the side snaps for baby since they need easy access to check vitals during recovery. They will have diapers and wipes, and post partum stuff but many moms want to also bing their own like frida mom pads, or if they plan to do cloth diapering, etc.

Don’t worry about the size. They never get it right. I loved the tea party. Both of your families know how to throw amazing parties. I hope the baby is born on near or on Lawson’s bday. One of our boys was born two days before my husband’s bday and they enjoy that. I can’t wait to hear your news.
Yes, exactly! And anywhere between 4.5-5.5 lbs at 34 weeks gestation is actually perfectly normal :).

Lawson. Charging cords for all devices you are taking. A sweatshirt in case the a/c is really cranked. Snacks, beverages (soda, energy drink etc). Comfy clothes but not too many.
My smallest baby was 5lbs 12 oz. My biggest was 8 lbs on the nose. My biggest baby was my easiest delivery! I think the larger baby along with gravity is actually easier. Praying for a healthy baby born in the the fullness of time, that God determines! 🙏🏼

Don't pay attention to weight, they are pretty much NEVER right lol. Seriously. Some bad doctors try to scare parents with weights saying baby is too big. Its almost impossible to tell by an image any more than I can guess your weight off this video. I've seen dozens of women get stressed over this issue and the guess be way off.
Give Duke some extra loving before and when Baby Bates arrives so he doesn't get left out. Charge your phone fully and bring the charger with you. Pack some onesies in your bag for the baby.
No way! I love that little oven! That's just what I need for just my husband and I. You Bate boys are making my kitchen amazing! I had to get a mixer with all the attachments to make pasta after watching Zack. Now I need to get that little oven. What a lovely baby shower. You’re baby will mostly likely weight about seven four or seven six when it’s born around 38 weeks. Full term around eight pounds .that is normal weight for babies.

❤ I had a 8lb baby boy.. My aunt had a 10lb baby girl.. All my other 3 kids were 7lbs..My daughter had TWINS boy & girl both weighted 8lbs EACH her stomach was HUGE

My son was said to be "really big" but he ended up being 7lbs 1oz 20.5in long. Also, although he was average at birth, he immediately gained weight and ended up being 95%-99% percentile between a few weeks old until he was 3 years old. Jared is now 16, almost 17 years old.
For your hospital bag, have a really comfortable outfit or two for yourself, along with a few different outfits for the baby (in case of inevitable spit-up, etc). You'll also need diapers for both the baby and yourself, along with stool softener (ask your doctor if you can start it before the birth.... the first BM after birth is very painful!). It wouldn't hurt to have the outfits in differing sizes because my son could never fit into newborn clothes, not even at birth. I had to use a backup outfit (0-3 months) for his newborn pictures. Don't forget to bring blankets for baby and for mom, and you can lay down your favorite baby blanket before they do his newborn pictures in the hospital. My son's picture has a blue fabric background 😉.
Dad, take snacks. Mom, take breast feeding pillow, breast pads, sanitary napkins.

I recorded my babies heartbeat and made a build a bear with his heartbeat. He loved it when he would fall asleep.

Our second child and youngest daughter was born at 34 weeks weighing 5 lbs 2 Oz . She was due Christmas Day and arrived the week before Thanksgiving . She did have some NICU time but she did great . And just a bit over a month ago she married her childhood sweetheart
I'm as petite as Tiffany and my husband is above average as far as height. Gave birth to 4 almost 5 now. I can not stand the amount of times I've heard "baby is too big". I gave birth to two 9 pders and 2 8 pounders and never fails how they attempt to say it can't be done. Gave birth to them naturally and managed. So hope they aren't trying that nonsense. The world is csection happy. Plus, ultrasounds aren't always accurate.

That “napkin” is an old-fashioned ladies’ handkerchief. I have my great aunt Nell’s gorgeous handkerchiefs in a rainbow of colors. They are beautiful. I received them when I was 9 because Nennie (Nell) died and I had the only N name in the family.
In my experience, you really only need the basics at the hospital. For mom: toiletries, I had my own hospital gown, shoes that slide on, grippy socks, going home outfit, Polaroid camera (if you have one), wallet with important info (insurance card, license), blanket from home.
For dad: clothes, blanket, pillow, something to do and toiletries
For baby: swaddle, one or two outfits including going home. Super basic but the hospital just provides so much!!

LaJolla is such a beautiful place! I've been to the beach there and it was GORGEOUS! I think you did an awesome job on the balloon arch. The baby's breath was such a sweet addition! They told me that my son was going to be big like almost 9lbs. I was so scared. When he came out he was so small. He was only 6lb 9oz. 😑. The drs scared me for nothing. They said the same thing about my twins but I knew better that time and they were small. I also worked in a pregnancy program and a lot of women were scared because they were told they had big babies and they dr was off and they had small to normal size babies. But I think what is most important to remember is that God made women’s bodies to birth babies all my babies were able to be born. (Even if I did have to have a C-section my twins were breach) don’t be scared about what the dr said the size of that baby he will be perfect 😊

I think everyone over packs their bags the first time😂. For me, necessities were, chapstick, hard candies, pillow, blanket, button down nightgown, bathrobe, slippers, comfy going home outfit, pads/loose undies or diapers, belly wrap for support after, nursing pads, lanolin (for preventing raw nipples from nursing), shampoo/conditioner, body wash/soap, lotion, charging cord, phone, camera. For partner - pillow, blanket, comfy clothes, toiletries, charge cord(s), camera, slippers, SNACKS. Bring drinks and snack- you will need and appreciate them❤. Good luck y'all❤

Hospital bag must haves:
- pillow from home because hospital pillows aren't comfy
- robe to walk around hospital especially if he has to go to the NICU or special care nursery (Lord willing he wont)
- shampoo, conditioner, body wash/soap for Tiffany
- deodorant
- clothes for mom and baby
- burp cloths
- diaper bag for storage
- nursing pads
The hospital will supply diapers and wipes. Take home everything you can get. They will also supply bottles and a breast pump if you choose to breastfeed. If not, they'll give you formula. They will also supply you with pads for after birth.

Those ultrasounds are never right with weight. They are usually more than the baby weighs at birth.
5 lbs is pretty normal for 34 weeks, too... idk where huge is coming from...
Well, they told me my twins were both about 6.5 pounds each. They were born one week later and weighed 8-10 and 8 pounds even! I do agree that the weight estimates are inaccurate towards the due date.🩵
@elizabethkoobs1060 i was told on a Thursday before my son was born that he was 7lb and 9oz but if he waited a few days to be born he could weight close to 9lbs because i had gestational diabetes, he was born 2 days later at 6 lbs. Hardly ever are babies bigger than the ultrasounds says

Just keep in mind Dr's do that to scare first time moms for sure. On an ultrasound a babies weight can very. They said my son was 8-9 pounds. He was 7 pounds 7 ounces. Lol
I had just the opposite. They told me 7 ish and he was almost 9. He had super wide shoulders,and was sunny side up though, and had to be born by c section. They literally had to push him back up to get him out. He was so stuck he made a pop sound when they took him out.
