I follow your channel and love how your Tesla ownership has added to your enjoyment of travel. It is always fun for me to watch you having fun, including this video. And I so appreciate your transparency about your FSD experience (or lack thereof). I have been on FSD Beta for 2 1/2 years myself so I have seen the good, the bad ugly. So have fun with FSD but I want to encourage your caution. FSD is like teaching a teenager to drive. They get it mostly right but you never know when they are going to make a BIG mistake. The DRIVER is always responsible so take over quickly any time there is any doubt. I want you to stay safe and also not do anything that will set FSD back. I just got V12.3 and it is remarkable. Hopefully, you will get the update within a couple of weeks. You have a lot to look forward to and I myself can't wait to see your discoveries in upcoming videos. Keep up the good work!
At the intersection when you were turning right, when you slightly turned the wheel to satisfy the nag, you disengaged FSD but the cruise remained engaged. The Tesla began accelerating without the steering enabled. This is why it felt as though it was going to go into the intersection. If you listen closely, you can hear the single gong indication FSD was deactivated but cruise was still active. Anytime in FSD you turn the wheel more than a little, the cruise remains engaged but the autosteer portion disengages. It's a steep learning curve, but within a few drives, you'll learn the limitations of the system. Enjoy the ride!
You can dynamically override things like the speed limit (with the right wheel) and the lane choice (using the turn signal.) You can choose minimal lane change to control lane choice more than the FSD likes.
I've been using FSD for several years. It keeps getting better but still needs to be looked over in city areas. Just got V12 last night but haven't tried it yet. My tips. I use the rainbow road setting (Toy Box) to give me a visual when in FSD. I frequently use the right school wheel to adjust speed while traveling. The right scroll wheel pushed side ways will change your settings (chill etc) you have to push the screen for lane changes. Keep your max speed high so if it wants to change lanes it has the speed to do that (more for freeways). Navigation isn't always accurate for lane changes. I've gotten to know locally where it will want to change inaccurately Just drove Denver to San Jose and back (2700 mi) without any phantom breaking. FSD probably 98% of that drive. I love the product. .
Can you make the driving screen bigger and your camera smaller for these. That is so we can see the road and FSD visuals easier. Look forward to your v12 video.
I was able to update to v12.3 overnight. The driving experience today was eerily good (with a couple of hiccups). Most of the time I had trouble knowing whether it was the car or me who was driving -- admittedly a fairly aggressive version of me, I'd say, even in chill mode. The one disengagement was when FSD couldn't decide whether to stop for a yellow or go -- so it sort of tried to do both at once. Otherwise, I had three beautiful city street drives. If you get a chance to try version 12, I strongly recommend doing so.
I have another video coming out today. I can’t wait to see v12, however I’m glad I can see how v11 is as well. I appreciate your info, so I know what to expect. So far I’m more impressed than I thought I’d be.
I got V12.3 earlier this week. It's amazing in some subtle ways. Far better than V11. You can flick the left scroll wheel to cancel the blue nag. You can use the right scroll wheel up or down to change your speed. A fast flick will go up/down 5 mph or to the next 5 mph increment if you are in-between. As said elsewhere I never have had FSD run a stop sign or traffic light. Some issues can be blamed on Google map anomaly's. I wonder if you inadvertently applied some throttle. That will tell the car to proceed. I do it at stop signs if it's being timid though V12 is more aggressive in takeoffs. On FSD I do not find phantom braking to be an issue. V12 took me into a hardware store parking lot this morning right to the front door lol. The hardest thing about FSD is learning to trust it. I hope you get V12 soon. Have fun.
It is quite useful now. Better when you get version 12. The combination of FSD and me are better drivers than either of us individually. FSD getting better faster than I am getting worse.
I have FSD and it is super dangerous. It just wasting money and wearing out break pads and tires so quickly. Good luck. Never want to touch it again. Disabled FSD.

I agree, learning a ton after a couple of uses so far. Having fun though :)

Awesome, thanks for the details Dan!

These are awesome tips, thank you! Trying an LA freeway today 😬
In my first experiences with V12, after a few minutes I was unsure whether it was the car or I who was driving. There are still some issues, but wow.

Yup already planning on doing that 😀Thanks for watching!

Phantom braking has not completely disappeared, but is much less prevalent than it was. I've never known FSD to run a red light; curious.
A very exciting and informative video. Also, I really like your hat, where did you get it from?
Thanks, Lindsay
Thank you! That’s a Tesla original right from their store. Be sure to follow their sizing guide. Thanks for watching!

V12.3 is over hyped. It brakes hard then crawls to the stop sign. It’s still easily confused. I’m done with FSD. 2023 MYP HW4
I would like to leave my condo in North Miami Beach ans travel 3 to 3.5 hours to visit a customer in Sarasota. When will FSD be able to do that?

I had FSD BETA activated on my 2022 Tesla Model 3 for 2 months. My opinion not worth the $200 per month/$12,000 up front!
Thanks for sharing your experience!
