- Resilient Category 4 Hurricane Beryl is approaching the south coast of Jamaica with 140+ mph wind and dangerous storm surge today. While the storm is expected to weaken, it will still be a major threat to the Cayman Islands tonight and the Yucatan Peninsula late Thursday night into Friday. After that, uncertainty grows, but residents of Texas and NE Mexico need to watch very closely for potential impacts this weekend into early next week.
