    Cubing with alex i have a huge tip that will definitely help you reach your goals in future competitions, make sure you get very good sleep
    Just go to sleep at nine pm and then wake up as late as you can the day of the comp.
    Your performence will then get boosted the afternoon that comp is, in the morning and beginning of comp you wont be peaking but after that you will easily get your average hometimes or better.

    • @miewwcubing2570
      @miewwcubing2570 Год назад +1

      It also boosts confidence and lowers nerves

    Great video and very supportive family. It was interesting to see the preparation, practise and results. After your next competition it would be great to know how it went and what changes you made with your solutions, cross, f2l etc.., that you think made a difference, improving.
    By the way I just reached sub 25sec average at home 2 weeks before my first comp. So at the comp I was just aiming for sub 30sec and managed to just get under sub 30sec so was happy enough, although I was very nervous and messed up almost every solve. It was also first time using stackmat, timer, normally used smart cubes so no pickup drop times. Oh and my breathing went crazy for some reason just like what you showed @17:53 seconds 🤣. Anyway great video once again, look forward to more in the future.

    Pro tip: never cube the day before a comp, your mind will tire out (even if you don't think during solves, you will be unconcetrated and off) and you will perform worse than expected, also don't set goals that are better than what you normally average add 5 seconds to it and you won't be as stressed, try convince yourself that you don't care and if it doesn't work you'll be more focused this is to make a comp feel like home so that you'd do better, also great vid

    @gustavopinedaxd Год назад +1

    nice video as always,
    here a few tips hoping I can help you in your improvement journey based on the solve at the start of the video I think you should change your R perm for the RUD one
    there's a couple algs you are regripping before/during when it's not necessary (one of your OLLs and your F perm)(in the part of the video where it says 3 days left)
    in the part where there's 1 day left you solved a pair like this:
    L' U' L U2 L' U' L U L' U' L
    I think there's 2 solutions that might be better here
    1) L' U L D' L U' L' D
    2) U' L' U L U L' U L U' L' U L(this one is pretty long but I think it generally is pretty consistent and fast
    also if you get that case from another angle there's F U R U' R' F' R U' R'(don't know what you use for that angle so I'm leaving this solution in case)
    for the comp simulation second solve you regriped during oll I think that's because you did R2 rather than R2' which I believe is better this is all the specific things I found while watching this video, thanks for reading if you read and remember Jesus loves you too!

    hey there, I am average around high 12 but my improvement has paused recently, do you have any tips for me to improve or other ways to practice other than doing solves?

    • @CubingWithAlex
      @CubingWithAlex  Год назад

      I would recommend you do more deliberate practice. Slow solves, untimed solves (focusing on efficiency), and watching a lot of walkthrough solves has really helped me!

  • @hannahbendavies1281
    @hannahbendavies1281 Год назад +1

    I noticed that you regrip a lot in your solves so try to do some slow solves where you don't regrip for the basic R U R' and stay at an F2L turn speed that is constant. I hope you can use some of this advice to help improve !
