Bro, this is probably the best cubing documentary video I have ever watched in my 14 years of my life, good scripting, good editing, good Idea, emotional ending, everything...Keep Up the good Job brother :) (btw the editing specifically makes me think that I am watching a 350 million dollar budget movie)
Dude, this is my favorite video of yours ever! This was an insane ending, I was kind sad, when you didn't get your goal last time, and now I am so happy you destroyed your goal! This was so well put together, and edited. great job!
Hey! I'm happy my comp provided the opportunity for you to beat this long lasting mental barrier! Going forward, my suggestion for your practice to get even faster would be that you should spend more time learning from fast cubers. There's been a lot of deliberate practice in these videos (i.e. doing lots of solves) but thats not the only way "speedcubing champions" practice. For example, since you tend to only include the last layer in your videos, I've noticed a lot of mistakes there, primarily 1. bad algs (mainly the Lefty R perm, a better alg would be R U' R' U' R U R' U R' D' R U' R' D R2 U R') and you should use this alg for one of your OLLs; F U R U' R2 F' R U R U' R' instead of the wide move alg 1. bad fingertricks, for a lot of algs you are either regripping unnecessarily during the alg or at the beginning, for example Jb perm can be done starting in home grip, and you can use your left hand pointer finger to do F' to save awkward moves a lot of the time. Another example is for this U perm (R' U R' U' R' U' R' U R U R2) you should be executing as R' U R' U' R3 U' R' U R U R2, to save regripping during it. 3. Not knowing AUF before doing your PLL, you consistently pause during AUF after doing your PLL All of these can be noticed by watching other people's solves, for example all of the algs and fingertricks can be found just be using speedcubedb.com and seeing what algs people use under the "from competitive solves" tab, and then slowing down the video to see how they are fingertricked. In general the solution to why other people are faster than you is often much more nuanced than that they have been cubing longer than you or have done more solves, you should always be trying to emulate those better than yourself. The F2L practice with you doing 2 pairs blind and cross+1 blind is really good though! keep it up.
Thanks for taking the time to critique my solves!! Yea, I've neglected my last layer for a while now. I guess it's time for me to stop procrastinating and actually put in the work. Also, thanks for showing me those algs. I started using the R perm alg and I learnt how to properly fingertrick my U perm alg. I never noticed how bad those algs were before lol Thanks for the critique, and thank you for organizing competitions :)
From a perspective of someone who isnt into cubing (i feel like i could never solve a cube this fast) you're amazing, the editing is phenomenal, I was hooked thru this whole vid. Congrats on your score !!
you are one of the few content creators i dont get bored watching after a while, i could watch your videos for hours and still be interested in them, great job on the two sub 13 averages! sub 12 next?
This is such a good video, the editing, voiceovers, solves are just amazing. This is truly a perfect video, and the end was perfect and closed up the video perfectly. Good Job Dude
Thanks! This comp I worked a lot on my inspection and f2l. I did a lot of blind cross +1, and slow solves (mostly focusing on efficiency and regrips). I also did a ton of solves and competition simulations.
Congrats on the average! I went to tally spring 2023 and my official times are so close to yours! I got a 12.92 avg in the second round and a 10.52 single in finals.
Something I heard from a fellow non cuber is that you can never say you stuck at the Rubik’s cube as there are some people that can’t even solve one face incorrectly 😊
This whole series has been amazing! Comp results suck, so I'm happy that you were able to work hard and get such a good result! (Now im scared my pr avg is 12.22 please dont beat me 😭) Overall this has been super fun to watch and you will get sub 12 easy at next fl comp
Hey Alex, great video as always! I was wondering how you balance school work with cubing, as obviously you spend a good amount of time cubing, and this is something I am struggling with currently being a junior. Thanks!
Thanks! Yea, I also struggle with finding time to cube somedays. Most of the time, I usually cube whenever I'm taking a short break. I take a cube around with me basically everywhere I go, so whenever I have some time, I whip it out and do some solves. For these videos, I put some time aside before I go to sleep, usually 30 minutes to an hour, to practice. After school, I try to get my homework and studying done before I do anything else. Somedays I just have too much work, or I'm really tired, so I let myself have a break and don't cube.
I would suggest you to try EOline solves; I have done them a lot to practice COLL and ZBLL when I was averaging around 10, and I think that helped me get to sub-8 a lot
I believe that all the way up to sub 30 and maybe even sub 20, all you have to do is keep solving. This will help you get better at cross and f2l. If you haven’t already, you should start learning full pll. If you want some specific practice exercises, you can do slow solves, and untimed solves. Also, I recommend watching some f2l tips and tricks videos. BrodyTheCuber has a ton of very helpful videos.
I know how it feels to under preform, my 3x3 times are a full 3 seconds slower than what I avg lmao (12.70 avg in comp sub 10 at home) but at least I do good in big cubes (top 500 in the world let’s go)
If the scramble is easy enough, I try to inspect cross +1. My inspections sucks though, so I can't do it most of the time. For this video I focused a lot on slow and untimed solves to practice my efficiency. I also worked on limiting regrips and rotations. After that I would work on my inspection by inspecting cross +1, closing my eyes and doing it, then inspect the next two f2l pairs, close my eyes and do it, then finally, I would inspect the last f2l pair and close my eyes and do it. After that I did some solves and competitions simulation.
@@TJDJGamingYT well if ur inefficient than ur F2L is bad. Not trying to attack you. Like if ur bad at piano you are bad. I can help you get more efficient. If you want to record 5 solves and post them I can give you some tips
