    To me, Haute is absolutely the craziest come up in the controller space recently, and have the potential to, not just blow apart the entire niche controller sector, but also potentially break into the mainstream peripheral market. Their offerings are so cheap, and their presence on Amazon, at least here in Canada, feels pretty groundbreaking.

    • @Krackatoa

      I say this despite not being able to use any of their controllers because I only play on left-handed leverless. 😔

      @@woooyeahfunkytime4088 We just tell people to buy Haute boards now. For ergonomics, I think full-sized boxes and "splitbox layouts" where movement is spaced further away from attack buttons (With an additional Up underneath the attack buttons), is optimal to avoid gamer posture. Can't argue with price, though.

      @@danivalvalsson8174 I haven't looked into it personally, do Haute devices let you remap at the controller level, independent of the game? I ask because for many games directional input remapping is not an option on console version even when it is on the pc version. For those of us (like Krackatoa) that play in offline events that are often run on playstation, that's an important distinction.

    I DIY'd a hitbox in my garage before all these cheaper options came about but what I did to find a good layout was print a bunch of templates and just mount them on some cardboard to get a feel for the different styles.

    Got my Haute s16 with t8 release. This is absolutely the BEST leverless for a millennial like me - not just coz of the price but everything. The size is perfect, extra buttons are great, and the fact I can switch back and forth between the thumb button and the up key for up/jump is fantastic. Knocked out the park.

  • @LeKingCarnage
    @LeKingCarnage 3 месяца назад +4

    It works on PS5 as a legacy arcade stick when you plug in a supported adapter to the usb port on the right side of the controller and turn on some settings on the configurator. It's an extra $20 to $30 but still way cheaper than most of the competition.
    I got this when my friend hooked me up with a discount voucher and got it for 40$. My wrists has never felt better executing electrics in tekken.

  • @StreyX
    @StreyX 3 месяца назад +3

    I've been using the S16 for about a month now because I wanted the extra button for a better placement of Parry in SF6. It's not as comfortable as the snackbox micro(even as a smaller person), but it's easier to set the SOCD and you have the extra buttons. Only real downside to it I'd say is the standard buttons are really tall so it's not easy to slide across the keys which is important if you're doing 360 motions or certain shortcuts.

    My Snackbox Micro XL arrived recently, my first leverless, I can attest that it is indeed a leverless with more space for artwork.

Ended up i loved it, can't live without it anymore, every fighting game i play is using it, played Tekken 8, SF6, some anime fighters, even broken one button and was really easy to replace with another ones that i actually bought really cheap too, so i have buttons to replace for years. Taken some two weeks to get used to since i was always a joystick player except for the arcade years when arcades did existed over here but once the jump button was mastered in my mind, now i am happy with it, would recomend to anyone that like me didn't knew if is going to adapt/like it or no

    Wanted to chime in to be on the SFIV SE defense force. It was the fightstick that I bought where I learned how to play on fightstick for the first time back in 2012, and it's still my main stick currently. The times it wasn't was during SFV which I used a modded XB1 KI TE2 and Hori Rap4, and in S3 of T7 I got an Ettoki Omni and installed the Golden Lever and that's my main Tekken stick. But still to this day my SE is still my favorite. I like its form factor, it's a decent size and I like the slight dip where your wrists rest. Wasn't much of a fan of the TE2, and definitely am not fond of the Rap4 (quality parts but I just didn't like the form factor and the Noir layout). I do love the Omni a ton though.
    However, I will say that maintaining the internals of the SE is a huge pain in the butt, so at the very least I will say there is valid criticism with that. It's bad enough to the point where I would agree on not recommending it for that reason. So many fightsticks have gotten better with making accessing and maintaining the internals much, much easier.

      @@ANIMEILLUMINATI I've asked for a replacement and I'm currently waiting for it. Hopefully it was just an unfortunately faulty one because in my limited experience with it I actually enjoyed it a lot.
      I've never been good with sticks and it feels a lot more comfortable and ergonomic than a standard keyboard; I even tried using it with some other 2d action games I'd normally play with a keyboard and it felt much better so if the replacement ends up being jank as well, I'm gonna have to fork one out for a more expensive one but £200+ feels like a bit of a scam for these things.

    Personally a big fan of the M series over the S series, because the S has cheap plastic that cracks

      A lot of times when labbing, you'll run up against a specific technique where you think "man this would be so much easier if I had an extra button right there".

      I thought fighting games is about reading your opponent and react appropriately. Not about how l33t you can APM your way to victory (analogy to RTS).
