    Wonderful lesson. You’re giving us some fantastic stuff to work on here - and not too much of it. The explanation behind what Barney is doing with these riffs is super helpful.

    Re: Grabtown solo and Bebop -- It's hard to know what happened since the creation of most post-war jazz occurred during the WWII recording bans. Kessel played on Parker's Relaxin' At Camarillo. You did a really good job of breaking down his ideas including your explanation of the harmonies on this solo especially that Monk-ish flat 9/sharp 11tth chord arpeggio.
