    I read A Wrinkle in Time when I was in 5th grade (early 1980s).

      That seems like a great age to read this story at! Did you enjoy it as a child and would you read it again as an adult do you think?

      @@anabruns I did like it back them. Idk if I'd read it now or not. My comment was mostly me expressing that I feel old. 😂

    Absolutely stunning spreads, I love your style so much! I also love the Kingkiller Chronicles. Slow Regard of Silent Things is a weirdly cozy novella that I never feel like I can recommend unless I know the person well since it's so unique but I absolutely love it, hope you enjoy it too!

      Thank you! :) I finished The Slow Regard of Silent Things last week and it was so unique but I still really liked it! Auri is one of my favorite characters so I was very intrigued to see what it’s like in her mind. My book club and I had lots of fun talking about theories (we landed on thinking Auri is so in tune with naming that she lives in a different reality by knowing the true names of things and this was triggered by the traumatic event potentially hinted at). I’m curious if you have any theories about her peculiar way of things?! I think it’s so fascinating to hear other people’s takes since it’s such a strange book haha

    • @MeowMyselfandI
      @MeowMyselfandI 3 месяца назад

      @@anabruns Omg that's such a cool theory! It's been a few years since I read it but I think my only main theory was that she's autistic or some type of neurodivergent, since some of her unusual ways of thinking remind me of an autistic friend of mine. Totally agree that there's some sort of trauma or PTSD going on as well. She's so fascinating and also just a lil ball of sunshine I want to protect haha I hope if the 3rd book ever comes out we get to see more of her

    • @anabruns
      @anabruns  3 месяца назад +1

      Ohhh that's actually a really good theory, I hadn't considered that maybe she could be neurodivergent! But yeah she has a heart of gold and seeing her perspective made me love her even more. Auri had better get a happy (ish at least) ending if we're ever graced with the final book lol

    The Wrinkle in Time series is most definitely a fever dream lmao I loved the series as a kid. Those books are some of the few books I plan on keeping through all of my purges of my childhood bedroom and taking into my future home lol

      Hahaha glad I’m not alone in my experience of A Wrinkle in Time! Yeah I feel like the series have a lot to offer, I definitely want to to own it when I start collecting books for future kids :)

    One of my more recent five star reads was Ordinary Grace by William Kent Krueger. It was fantastic and I can't stop thinking about it (even six books later). I highly recommend it; based on some of the other books you've read and liked, I think you would really enjoy it!

      I just looked it up on Goodreads and it seems very intriguing! Thank you for recommending it, I’m adding it to my list☺️ always looking for a 5 star book! the synopsis makes me think of Terri Blackstock books, I’m curious have you read any of her books?

    • @bekahheintz
      @bekahheintz 3 месяца назад

      I haven't! Ordinary Grace is a little outside of what I typically read but my friend and my local librarian both recommended it to me so I gave it a try. I'll definitely look into Terri Blackstock though! I like expanding what genres I'm reading.

    • @anabruns
      @anabruns  3 месяца назад

      Ooh gotcha, librarian recs are typically pretty good I've found haha! I found Ordinary Grace on Libby and am on the waitlist :) Yes you should definitely check out Terri Blackstock, I especially loved her Restoration series. She writes Christian fiction that are usually thrillers/mysteries so kind of an odd combo but so good!

    I love the Kingkiller Chronicle series! Another new novella just came out too that's on my TBR. Also I would highly recommend Why We Sleep over Atomic Habits. Why We Sleep is in my opinion a life changing book! I read it several years ago and still bring it up in conversation today many times a year. (I don't want to set the bar too high for anyone's expectations, but I think people really underestimate how much of an impact it can have on your awareness and appreciation of sleep).

      Oh yay another Kingkiller Chronicle fan! I’m enjoying the novella about Auri so far (started it last week) even though it’s a little strange. I’m not sure if I’ll ever read the novella about Bast because I honestly don’t like his character very much😅 but if you end up reading it, please let me know how it is!! Also I’m so glad to hear your opinion on Why We Sleep! I’ve pretty much decided to start that one first - I feel like it’s an area of life I’ve neglected for probably too long haha. Hoping it will be life changing for me as well- I’ll definitely keep you updated! :)

    I have Remarkably Bright Creatures on my wish list and now, hearing your account, I am even more excited about reading it.
