I've come to learn that parents care less about what we do, and more about our ability to care for ourselves without their help. They may feel like they failed you as a parent, and that doesn't feel good. They want to know that when they die, we're able to take care of ourselves. When we're able to meet our basic needs (food, safety, psychological, health...etc) they respect you for that, and treat you more like an adult. ...even if you're not living the exact life they envisioned for you. I know you'll find your way. And I'm sure you mom will lovingly be there when you do. 🤍
I completely agree with this perspective and took some time to view the situation from my mother's eyes. There are some parts of who I have become she may never agree with or understand but I know she wants me to be happy, I pray that it's not happiness based on her standard of what that is. Thank you for the encouragement 🙏

I’m going through a very similar situation where I decided to leave my very well paying and benefits galore job in construction because it was draining me and I want to pursue my passions. My dad has been acting like your mom and giving me more and more bills to pay and everyone putting pressure on me. I am wishing you lots of luck and success in your dreams 🫶I also want to woof this coming fall🙂
Thank you for sharing. I am grateful we know we are not alone in this dynamic. It has been getting easier but only because I prayed and was brave enough to make some big shifts in my living situation. Still the same dynamics so to speak but less parental pressure. I have recently learned that some people raise children while others raise future adults. Still very much becoming a grown version of myself. I am wishing you all the luck and divine direction, and if you wwoof let me know how you liked it! Pursuing passions is the purpose, sending you peace and love 🤍🙏
