Hey, guys..just wanted to say I found you guys when I was recovering from multi organ failure 6 years ago this week. I come back and listen to all your old stuff that gave me such a good vibe and just gave me strength. I also love your new song that just came out. Thank you for being awesome!
You guys were amazing! I was so sad when I found out you were "retiring" from the industry together. I'm glad you are doing what you need to for yourselves though! Thank you for years of dedication and "synergy" for other "seekers"! Your music has helped me through all kinds of moments in time and I'm so grateful I got to experience USS! I saw you live three times and was just blown away! I wish you both health and happiness for many years to come ❤️
This is still one of my most favourite songs!! I seen you guys with Hedley in Thunder Bay in 2014, i could not get this song out of my head for a few days after the concert. I still listen to you guys regularly 🩷🩷
Holy crap I can't believe how many ppl listen to 89X from different states...that's so awesome. I've loved that radio station since I was a little kid. Plus this song kicks ass.
Just found these guys in 2023. I'm not sure why I'm getting a "drug addiction" vibe or music that is made to inspire those who are stuck in the claws of addiction, but I do. I was addicted to alcohol "alcoholic" and have been in recovery almost 5 years now. That may be why I pick up this feeling from this song.
I'm so grateful 102.1 started promoting this band. I went out and bought the CD, as I believe in supporting artists. What a pleasant surprise. Every single song on the CD is great, such a rarity. I recently discovered that USS is a local band. I'm thrilled even more!
raashil jain three years later, they're criminally underrated still. I don't like being a hipster. I want everyone to like them as much as I do. They're fantastic.
I had never heard of them till I saw them live at Chill on the Hill in Michigan this past weekend. They were so good live and put on a really good show.
What the fuck. You know that game on Wikipedia where you have to from one page to a completely different one? ( I can't remember the name) but you could totally do the same thing with RUclips.
Just finished watching the live stream of the last show in Toronto. It was absolutely perfect guys. Worth every penny and then some. I'll miss them but what they created will never end ✌🏻❤🇨🇦😜
Just discovered this yesterday, I was looking at videos of South Park's goth kids and someone had brilliantly put together a montage to this song. Speaking as a trained musician, I can't believe how superbly this song is structured both in music and lyrics. A great example to use in a class on successful songwriting.
I don't think there is anyway to compare this band to anyone else they have such an original sound and that's why I give them such respect! Keep it coming boys!!
You need to see them live to truly appreciate not only the style of music that they bring, but the energy! Trust me, they are worth seeing live! I've seen them twice now and all I can say is they are excellent performers! The last show they did, Jay (Human Kebab) did half the show doing a head stand, clapping his feet together WHILE scratching his turntables!
"I woke up on a Monday, I've been feeling pretty wired. I've been wide awake since Wednesday" I'm prescribed amfetamines for ADHD, this is more or less my life. ~1-3 hours of sleep a day for a week straight. And the whole time, I go from beyond alert and focused (I can literally focus on everything at once, I don't know how to describe it but it's pretty awesome), to exhausted beyond description over the course of an hour, randomly. Rinse and repeat for the day. Also, arrhythmia af. I regularly go from 160-170 to 50-60BPM. Anyway, that's enough bitching about my life problems for the day. Back to the music.
Are you sure you have adhd? I thought amphetamines only do that to those who don't have ADHD but what the fuck do i know i didn't use google before i typed this in loll
Bagelstorm Yeah, pretty sure. Diagnosed by a doc, plus caffeine is entirely ineffective. Amfetamines can (usually?) Have that effect on people, I'm not one of them. The way the prescribing doctor said it, sounds like it's actually much more common to have my response to it. I only know me, I'm not very well informed in other cases
Will S. I can really relate to you, and I would seriously look into another form of medication if I were you. This is a subject that is very close to my heart. People are not aware how serious it is. Sleep deprivation fucks you up, BAD. I nearly lost my life after three years straight of next to no sleep, similar to what you describe. The entire time I had NO idea it was sleep related, I mean I was tired but I was used to it and never thought about it much. Nobody seems to talk about how seriously fucked sleep deprivation is.
+nibbleninjas Yep. Pulling an all nighter or even 3 is nothing compared to the cumulative effect of weeks or months of 1-3 hours of sleep a night. last week I got 7 hours total. Monday to Sunday. I've been doing it for just over a year and it really is starting to wear me down, I don't even know how you managed 3. I try to avoid taking it on any weekends or breaks longer than 3 days, except once every 4 days otherwise I get arrhythmia to the point of nearly losing conciousness. I'd consider a different drug, but it'd still be an amfetamine(Amfetamine salts, probably), and overall the same effect. At any rate, I plan on mentioning it to my doc when I go for refills next month, see what he says.
Will S. I completely agree. When you live that way, you basically are building a sleep deficit of hundreds and hundreds of hours over time, and even a good night's rest here and there does absolutely nothing to undo any of the damage. Your body slowly starts giving up on certain functions to try and keep you going with such little energy. The third year was absolute hell for me in so many ways. I was a complete mess, just so worn down, I poured 100% of the little energy I had into my job, and the rest of the time I was just a zombie. I also became very depressed and apathetic, I was so tired of living that way, and nothing brought me any happiness. I was too tired to enjoy anything, or clean my apartment, or cook myself food (ordered in ALL THE TIME), or even see my friends/family. All my free time was spent sitting in bed or on the couch, but I couldn't sleep, and in the early hours of the morning when I'd run out of shit to look at on the internet and was so bored I wanted to scream, everything just felt so pointless. God I remember it so well. And that's just the mental side of it, the physical side was awful too, stress wreaks pure havoc on the body. I was constantly weak and sick. I also would zone out all the time or get confused easily. Just... 100% a bad time. I wish I knew more about the medications to offer more helpful advice in that regard, but I really would urge you to bring it up with your doctor for sure. If there's ANYTHING else you can try, even if it's another amphetamine, sometimes similar drugs can have very different effects, you'd be surprised. Or perhaps there's an additional medication you could try on top of your current one that would help you sleep. Whatever the solution is, I'm sure something can be worked out, and it truly isn't worth living with constant sleep deprivation forever. It's just too much, and the severity escalates so goddamn quickly with time. One year is awful, two years somehow manages to be 5x as bad, the next year somehow escalates to an even deeper level of hell. I don't even want to imagine how bad four, or five, or even more years would be. At least the way I was living, it honestly and truly was not a life worth living at all. I can't believe what an instant fix it was, as soon as I started getting proper sleep every single one of my problems big and small just disappeared. I really think that the value of getting good quality sleep should be emphasized more.. as I said in my last comment, I went years without knowing that sleep was the culprit for all my issues, because even when I would sleep I still felt like shit. But it was just because one or two good sleeps couldn't undo such a severe sleep deficit. I just never connected those dots for all those years. After I finally got consistently good sleep for a few weeks, I felt like a whole new person.
Omg listened to this band so much when I was like 4 (I have 4 brothers) all of us listened to rock music and everything. this brings back so many memories. love life 😙
102.1 in Toronto has been spinning these guys for a few years now, but it's cool to see from the comments that they're getting airplay outside of Canada. I always worry that a lot of awesome Canadian bands never really get international notice.
+Sycamori Still nothing for me. The only song of theirs on Spotify for me is Yin Yang. Thank you though, it's probably due to me being in America. Are you in Canada?
I saw these guys at Sonic Boom 2013 and they were without a doubt one of the best live bands I've ever seen. The stage presence they have is just insane, the singer was jumping around and doing flips and shit, it was amazing.

I just spent 10 minutes hunting down for this with only the few lyrics I remembered from grade 9 and I'm so glad I finally found it

I wasn't expecting to see so many comments about 89X. Great station that's shown me bands like Awolnation and Alex Clare. Gotta love em'
