keep in mind that with the combat rework you never miss with your spells anymore, so you can carry mind, body and chaos runes with you even as melee or ranged or w/e and cast confuse, weaken and curse on enemies with no miss chance even without wearing mage gear

For Player owned farms, you leave the animals to grow to elder for the most produce and xp, or adolescent if you want more beans but less xp and produce. Also make sure you keep their food full as then they stay healthy and happy and with those at 100% you earn more xp

also, the tome of um is like a mini bonecrusher thing - except it puts normal bones into your bank automatically. These are both things I've discovered on my ironman journey, keep kicking butt on yours mate!

You kept saying wilderness warbands but irons can't do those, you mean wilderness flash events which are every hour, the special ones are every 3-4 hours but you should really do all non combat ones. I'd really recommend you join an ironman clan also for constant advice.
