  • *NOTE* - You can get this PC for under $250 dollars by using the code Toastybros30 at checkout on skiac's website! :)
    - I also forgot to mention, you'll see that my finished desk setup has a lightstrip on the back, it does NOT come with one. I added that myself.
Today we're building and reviewing the setup process of this Skiac desk thats 101.5 inches long, has storage, and a lot of room for monitors and your PC setup.

*editors note:* don't mind the "decorations" on my PC, this is the aftermath of working at the ToastyBros😂

I really dig this desk. Here's a little thought for the exposed screw holes. Grab a couple "S" hooks from the hardware store and use the holes to hang headphones and whatnot.

Thanks for the review; I was ordering one and was looking for reviews. Also, your discount code saved me some more money on a desk that was already on sale. Thank you!

Looking at buying a Sikaic desk, but wondering about the viability of mounting my monitors on it (metal frame, the thin particle board as well). Any insight?

@ToastyDIY I also want to know this, I have two dual-arm mounts on my current desk, one for right monitor and right speaker, and one for left monitor and left speaker. I'm very attached to this setup so this is an important question to me.

I emailed Sikaic and this is what they said:
"We are sorry our gaming desks are not support clamp-mount monitor arms at this time.
First of all, if your gaming table is placed against a wall, your monitor and speaker can't be placed in the right place. Secondly, because there are steel brackets between the table top and the floor for support, it can't make good contact with the CLAMP-MOUNT MONITOR ARMS well, which may lead to skewing and dropping."
So the first reason is situation-dependent; my desk is against a wall and the monitor mounts work fine. But the second reason seems valid - not enough support on the underside of the desk.
I appreciated that they responded within less than 24 hours, and that they gave me information that may not result in me buying their product - that speaks to a level of integrity.

@@381nm yeah I figured the metal frame would cause issues as they always do. But nothing a block of wood on the underside couldn't fix there. I assume that + a metal plate on top to spread the load would work given the 0.7 inch thickness of the top (emailed them to get an exact measurement on thickness)

I was kind of sketched out at random, seemingly no name Facebook ads for these desks, then I thought about it and looked up the trustpilot reviews for this company, and they were all pretty good. Then I saw this video. Now I've ordered one. Thanks :-)

@@maybethatguy8569 yeah, a bit smaller than I was anticipating depth-wise (that my fault. But it's sturdy and I'm happy with it. Quality is about what you'd expect for this price range.

That is a beast of a desk. Maybe you could move one of the risers to the longer side of the desk, instead of the back of it? Maybe you could even stack the risers to make a sort of cubby system.

    • @z33jonah
      @z33jonah 7 месяцев назад +1

i actually did try this idea, and it bothered me because one of the risers didn’t cover the full length of the side :/ i still might add it back but i definitely don’t regret not using them in this current configuration!

@@z33jonah That's when you put the riser clear to one side and then add a 10-inch statue of your favorite Star Wars character from Sideshow Collectibles. You've gotta think outside the box, my dude!
