- I received a tip from one of my viewers stating that he was able to enable 120Hz refresh rate on Galaxy Note 10 and S10 series. So, I put his instructions to test and let's see what happens.
Try it yourself and let me know below.

The answer : No it does not, it doesn't have the hardware to do this.
The people who notice a difference are lying to themselves, it's a placebo effect.
you just contradicted yourself
WELL STATED
@@Alex-sg3yz good catch
Lol you caught the error.
The 120 would not be there if it could not go to 120. Perhaps Samsung put it there for a future update. I have a 10 plus 5G. All I can say scrolling is much faster.
I used a software setting to change my Note 9 to a bicycle.
Lmao, exactly!
I used software setting to change my Note 7 to c4
😂
Riswin Ashraf send me the link please
Lmao
The display supports 60hz u can't make it 120hz. It's like making 4G phone 5G 😂
😜😜😜right
5G is possible for S10 in 700Mhz...
4G+( Carrier Aggregation) : 700Mhz, 1800Mhz, 2600Mhz
not really, displays, such as pc monitors have variable refresh rates and they could be overclocked, but a 60Hz display could be overclocked to 75Hz Maximum.
@@musabsaad5301 75 Hz isnt worth it to risk ur phone
not true, apples and oranges here
I'm just glad you didn't lie and say it looked like 120hz lol
Yeah. Me too i didn't feel any difference..
@@razorr527 I'm glad he didn't die as well

There is not differenve bro. Gave up my oneplus 7 pro to catch a 120hz instead of 90hz only to find out that the note 10+ is literally hardware limited making it actually impossible to display the 120hz. You'll see the clear difference between holding them up right next to each other. The 90hz oneplus 7 pro is faster and smoother than s10+ 120hz. Big clear difference. :(
With all the cpu power of Samsung and 12 gigs of ram,.it should be able to do 144hz.
The display on the note 10 and the s10 were only built for 60hz. If they could go up to 120hz samsung would have said something
Of-course they wouldn't, 120hz is a selling point for a newer device than the N10.
Fun fact for you guys, you can actually increase your PC monitor's refresh rate up to 10hz more than the default one. This is what we called as monitor overclocking. So yes, it's actually possible to increase monitor refresh rate albeit not very high. So I wouldn't be surprised if the same thing applicable to smartphone's display though an extra 60hz is impossible.
@@Bodonism still 70hz would be better than 60 maybe you would still have to drop to +QHD and not still be on +WQHD but still...
How to overclocked pc
But overclocking a pc monitor will have lower the resolution. What's the point if you have to lower resolution of that amazing display
Yeah, it will definitely work out. It's like being at 360hz when the panel of my monitor is only supporting 144 or playing in a native 4k when it's going up to 1080p at most :)
What I did on my Note 10 plus is that, from developer options I set window animation from default 1.0x to 1.5x. And again it's 1.5x, not 0.5x that what others usually do. I set all three options to 1.5x in there. Now my phone animations feel like sliding over butter. It feels like my phone got higher refresh rates.
Window animation scale: 1.5x
Transition animation scale: 1.5x
Animator duration scale: 1.5x
Did you also download the launcher app and follow the directions or just change the windows animation to 1.5? Does it take more battery and run hotter? Thanks in advance.
Thank you
Should be .5x.. half a second..
@@FV05500132 Nope. Try it for yourself. .5x is faster but not "smoother." .5x makes your phone feel as if it's stuttering (The animations are not smooth) while 1.5x makes your animations smooth and fluid
@@aagaming8608 tried it now. It feels slow. Maybe because im already used with the .5x
not working. "motion smoothness" doesn't exists in Setting. So, i think its fake. You were told to install the app Activity Launcher so they can go through your phone data? the app got malware? did you notice the icon when installed on your phone became some weird icon? not as presented in Google Play? not recommended to install it. Just be careful. (maybe should delete this video for safety purpose)
Yeah
thank you man, it worked! my smartphone now is a 240hz gaming chair with 4.8 ram ghz sata4 ;o
SIckkk, i`ll go smash this setting too! :O
Is this a joke?

I tried it with my S10 on One UI 2.5 it pops up but i can't click the 120hz option even if i put it on the lowest resolution i had my phone on optimized so ot doesn't work for me
3:05 damn dude
I just tried it on my Note 10+. I can't see any difference.
I don't think the panel (hardware) on the S10 and N10 are capable.
They're not. Phones are only 60hz
Why not?? The s20 fe has a lower resolution, only Amoled display ,and worst screen and can run 120 hz,is only Samsung don't want that ...
@@maximoaburto the screens of s10 and N10 weren't simply made for 120hz
I still haven't even received one ui 2.1 tf
Same
Yeah me too.
Got mine last night
Same here.
@@hacklaurent9412 what device u have?
I think what's happening is the sample rate is 120hz instead of the actual refresh rate going up.
No its locked at 90ms.
it definitely isn't 120hz lol I just tried on note 10 +
Nope.... no change
Saki and his nonsense
This has been discussed extensively since the 2.1 update.
Everyone said it doesn't work because the hardware doesn't support it. It's an oversight on the part of Samsung and might be taken away in the next update.
Mu UI is version 2.5 and it does not work... 😭
Enable IR blaster next. 😋
Yess!
haha..nice one..
Haha
Great ,manually or automatically 😝😝😝😝
Lol😂
Can't launch the thing on one ui 4.0
I enabled this feature on my note 10+ and recorded a slow motion with both 120Hz and 60Hz and surprisingly, I noticed a slight difference when I was scrolling up and down in my settings menu. The slow motion video with 60Hz feels choppy and laggy. However, the slow motion video with 120Hz is a little bit smoother. You can try this in your next video Saki.
Cheers.
Post video bro
Same, I feel like my note 10+ is much smoother now
omar jr Same for me
@Minh Triet Vu amazing! Thanks for the information, I didn't know that. I noticed a small improvement with the tip on the video.
Houssam Belhadj yes, the difference is very slight.
On PC, monitors are able to be overclocked to higher refresh rates. Not sure how mobile displays differ, but it does make the idea plausible, although probably not as drastic as 60 to 120hz.
When I set it to 120hz and try to change my resolution it says it'll reset to the standard refresh rate (s10 plus)
I cannot believe that it worked on yours and then work on mine I was never even able to change the settings it won't let me change it to high resolution of to the 120 hertz I got the one terabyte version
I'm using an S10 Plus Snapdragon model. Have the OneUi 2.1 update on it. I downloaded the app, switched the settings, switched the animation and transition effects in the developer options to 1.5x and I put the phone next to my wife's S20, and honestly the smoothness matches and I am indeed seeing a difference..
Thank you for debunking this.
same... not sure i can tell the difference... I'd like to think it does appear better and smoother, but incredibly difficult to notice. THANK YOU for being honest and straight forward 😁
Just see this video and i tried it. It may not look like 120Hz but, surely i felt the difference. It is smoother than the default 60Hz. 👌
Does not work on one UI 4.1 ;(
It somewhat worked on my Note10+ N975F/DS. Thanks for this. But I kept the Window And Transition Animation + The Animator Duration to 0.5 for best result. Tho my screen didn't necessarily felt like 120Hz but more like 90Hz.
And honestly I still don't understand why people is obsessing with 120Hz even if they are just typical smartphone users. Not a gamer nor a pro. As if the motion smoothness has a practical benefit and as if it doesn't take a toll on the battery life. Me as long as the 0.5 setting in the Transition & Window Animation + Animator Duration in the Developer Options is turned ON I'm still satisfied with 60Hz screen.
I did a slow motion test on 480 fps and 960 fps with both 120 hz & 60 hz there is a difference between each one 120 hz is pushing the device beyond its refresh rate 60 hz is little bit choppy and the fact is Note 10 + has built in physical refresh rate is 60 hz this is just tweak to run your device exactly 60 hz without any up and downs.
You can display the htz on the developer options and it will always be 60
S10 is 60 hrz panel. U need to download some extra ram.
Lol
Good one
Totally worked guys!! Now i'm installing the 240hz patch on my 60hz PC monitor. I like this future!
I did 2 benchmark tests, first without the refresh and second with the refresh and the refresh scored higher. I think there's a difference
What tools did you use for your benchmark?
Well... did a reboot, went back to the smoothness option, and still active. About the scroll performance... is working great. I will not said like the real or like S20 and others, but great... no lags. Tested it on several apps.
Sure, because Samsung developed the tech for 120hz on the note 10 and went through the added expense to each unit but apparentlt didn't want to brag when they released it?
Makes sense to me. Keep that shit hidden until some third party hack can unleash it with an app.
Hello everyone..look, it works very little..like a 90 hertz or lesser..it does pretty much like u enable animation scale 0.5, 1x, 1.5x, 2x, 5x or 10x in developper options.
Tried this and honestly feel the smoothness and all. I think it wouldn't work if you reduce animation settings and all those stuff supposed to get your device in "beast mode"
Üstad ben yaptım fakat olmadı..!! 😢😢
U can try n run the refresh rate app, it will tell you if u have 120 or not...30fps vs 60fps app on the app store
I restarted my phone after I did it, it does appear that it is working
Doesn't work. Besides, after 4 years and 3 models of Samsung: S7edge, S8 regular & Note10+...I'm finally switching to OnePlus 8 pro!
great choice tbh
Only for refresh rate?
おめでとうございます👍🏻
@Car Fliyup.. 120hz display this is great option to use but it is not the end of the world.
It will give us greater user experience but it has also side effects.
Have you tried to reStart your phone after changing to 120hz?
Still haven't received one ui 2.1 on my note 10 + snapdragon
Me neither....
I got it to my s10 plus
Yes you can. Just turn off the transitions effect on your phone & you'll have the illusion to make the phone a little smoother.
Doesn't work Note 10+ 5G... Was cool to be hopeful 😏
Woah! I got mine to 144hz!!! This is insane!!! Crysis never ran so fast!!! OMG
actually motion is getting fluider. so device feels snappier then before. 😌
Not sure what 120 he is supposed to feel like but my phone does feel snappier too.
I have to agree... Never played with 120 but my panel certainly responds a bit better than before.
I have the unlocked note 10 plus, and in all honesty, I can see and feel the difference when switching from Google search engine to my app drawer.
👌🏾💯👌🏾
I tried it & it seems to work. After I did everything, I restarted my phone. Apps. like Twitter is much smoother & quicker.
Yeah right
Margaret Kilby
I tried it wasn’t a change until I restarted the phone now its smoother and quicker
It still doesnt work for me, i recorded my phone with slow mo cam 60hz and 120hz makes no difference
Try restarting your phone
@@margaretkilby3915 Placebo effect
When I try to switch back to higher resolution in the display settings the pop up message says "High refresh rate isn't supported in WQHD+. Your screen will change to standard refresh rate."
I can't tell a difference myself, but why would the message exist then?
(Using a Note 10+ 5G on T-mobile)
It's not the software, it require hardware to perform 120hz refresh rate IMHO
Doesn't works on galaxy S10 Snapdragon 855
Really I appreciate a bit of difference, maybe 90 Hz but not 120 Hz, also battery drains faster than traditional
After i restarted the Phone i can use the 108-megapixel and 100x zoom on my Note 10+
You can actually tell this by locking at the back of the Phone where you can see the Galaxy S20 Ultra camera system now.
Lol
Hi saki ...jus did this ... and restarted my note 10 plus ... and I do feel a slight difference.....
I have a feeling, that it doesn’t work anyway.
I didn't see any difference at first either. Much to my surprise though, after putting my phone down for a bit then coming back to it, I did see a difference. Idk all the proper tech terms, lol, but it does seem quicker/smoother. I have all animations off (always have), so maybe that makes a difference?
There’s no difference, the hardware is capped at 60hz. It costs much more money for a 120hz panel, Samsung would not willingly put in a more expensive component and advertise it as less if it wasn’t, it just makes no sense.
Tried on my S10 Device and actually the display is Abit smoother than what I was using before...
I just tried and I thought when you are going from screen to screen regarding your apps, it did seem faster.
This have been discussed in XDA, and, no, it does not change anything
Nope. I tried in Activity Launcher and an app QuickShortcutMaker. This option for a screen refresh rate doesn't exist on Galaxy S10. Looks like it's only a standard 60hz rate, no matter of resolution.
I was only able to see the extra smoothness on home screen and menu screen, you gotta go back and turn off your reduced animation and removed animation functions. Nothing much in my games and media screen though.
Dude, it literally cannot go up to 120Hz.
I tired on my S10 and at first I didn't notice any difference. Then I tried to reboot my phone. After this (I don't know if it is real or if it is a placebo effect) it seemed to be smoother. But I'm not sure. Maybe you can try and let me know. (You could also try to record a slow-mo before and after enabling 120Hz, to see if there is any difference)
I have serious doubts, but maybe the hardware is ~90Hz (like the Mi9) instead of 120Hz
Yep there's definitely no difference. To be honest I'm not too worried as long as my phone works lol! 📱🖋👌🏻
Bro i installed the application i think no difference.
Sak, I'm running Note 10+ with 512Gb and 12Gb RAM. I put my settings at High Performance mode and FHD. Turned on the 120hz and it's like going from driving a Corvette to driving a Koenigsegg. The place this mod really shines is in the Facebook app. 2 thumbs up, this is a great find and a keeper.
Hell yeah. S10 is definitely runnig smoother now. Yay!
@@dxrrxw i wont lie on these kind of things, Not just running through the menu, when you scroll through facebook, its quite smoother.
Need a hack to increase internal battery capacity (6000 mAH at least) and a toggle switch for Exynos/Snapdragon 865/A13 Bionic option. May the Force be with you, Saki ! ⚡ 🦁🍻
PS
Dumbest idea ever. You'll regret 4:23 seconds of your life
Did it on my S10+ (Exynos), no difference at all.
Hi Sakitech wow I tried it on my note 10 plus i must say it made a big difference cos after the update 2.1 my phone was lagging and now it supper smooth and fast👏👍 thank you 😊 👍👏
Can I get those wasted 4 minutes of my life back?
No
Just like laptop screens that come with 60hz there are programs to over clock them by even 30 hz, no screen is exactly 60 hz the manufacturers set it to that. Some screens can be over clocked
definitely abit smoother can tell after some minute of use.
No it's not. Placebo is taking over
@@marcularis sorry to disagree. I just did it on my n10+ and scrolling is really smoother
@@DLcine definitely not. The S10 and note 10 are not built for 120. It's an internal hardware thing. You are seeing things.
App doesn't work, its same like u r trying to enable 5G on 4G device.
IDK, I think I would rather have a higher resolution.
Personally I'd rather have 120hz because it's easier to see how fluid the screen looks vs how sharp the screen looks. That's just me tho
You've never used 120hz have you, Billy?
Hi! I have One ui 2.5 .. and it s not working. Who i get One ui 2.1 ?
It's the exact same thing on S10 😂
The people noticing a difference are clearly having a placebo effect or they are making themselves believe it. Even if u could make the phone feel smoother, it's definitely not 120hz. Place a 120hz screen next to it and you'll see right away it's not the same. People say they notice a slight difference in some scrolling, but if u went from 60hz to 120 Hz, the difference would be pretty substantial. It's like when you change the animation scaling. You aren't making the phone any faster, you're just reducing the animations.
alI he did was install some malware on your phone probably Saki🤷🏾♂️
You can toggle the settings thru nova launcher too. And no it don't work
That app isn't malaware 😂
Tested on S20 and it works !
I did noticed a bit faster scrolling from side to side and popping in and out on app so yeah it did work but its unnecessary my note 10+ is faster enough to satisfy me I'm good
I got s20 ultra and note10+, s20 ultra definitely running 120hz but I don't think so note 10+ does. I did follow the steps.
Didnt work. I trying using my slowmo camera n it show the same result as 60hz. Hahaha
Well, it does feel smoother...I don't have developer mode active. But I really see it smoother! I read the comments and I wasn't expecting any change.
It may be a placebo effect though. Hehehe
Displays are built to refresh at a certain rate and at times can be over clocked to higher speeds but that's like a 5 to maybe 10 Hz difference. So no, the displays cannot reach 120 Hz with out burn in or crashing. People are stupid if they believe this. The reason why it even shows up is because it's in the code of the one ui 2.1 update for the s20 series. It was just hidden by Samsung because it's not an available feature with the s9 to s10 series devices.
Hey guys I'm in Australia with my note 10+, I have just adhered and followed the instruction that our good friend Saki has explained to us to act on by changing and downloading .
And I must say most definitely I noticed quite a big difference in smoothness/quickness in the refresh rates on my note 10.
Thankyou so much Saki
I did it and didn't feel much difference. Actually the screen seemed to stutters more than before, but maybe it's just my eyes... And the battery drain was huge. I even felt the device getting hotter, so switched back. I definetly prefer having a higher resolution (1444p) than a higher fresh rate. BTW I am on a Exynos Note 10+
Honestly I did not expect this from Sakitech.
I mean it's a 60hz screen how in the world will it possibly become a 120hz screen.
That literally like puttings artificial wings on a elephant and expecting it to fly
I tried on a Samsung Galaxy S10+ And at the last step when i want to pus on Motion smoothness, says app keeps stopping.
Also mine. I think it is patched by samsung
I tried it on my Galaxy note 10 + with performance mode enabled and I noticed a difference, not if it's the display or some internal configuration that reduced the lags but I felt something kkkkkkkk
Look of course it's not 120Hz... But it feels a bit smother not that the frames have gone up but it kinda feels like iOS idk🤷🏽♂️
Yeah i agree 👍
Worked flawlessly!
Installed the app then purchased an S20
Now I have a 120 Hz screen 😝
S20 already can go to 120hz
LOL
So what happens if you don't have that option. I have the note 10, from Verizon and screen resolution is not an option in my settings. Now what?
i have a G Note 10, followed all the instructions and it doesnt let me apply or steer away from the 60hz, so not sure how that was done.
Dude i don't know if its real but gaming experience have changed in my s10 plus nd i love it 😍
Yow guys Im using Samsung Galaxy S10. It does feel different when playing games. Usualy I only use from device care for good quality gameplay but when it comes to team fight. I always struggle with those fps drop. But now after trying this on my S10 way more better than I expected. Thank you for your information @Sakitech!
Wonder why when switched from 120hz to 60hz the 60hz looks way choppier than a regular 60hz display on note 20 ultra..
Note10 and S10 panels are built to run on 60hz. Anything above is to be considered screen overclocking, and requires root.
