Ok, I was just making sure this was not some German design LOL Man, you have made my purchase of my C230 awesome! You figure out the seatbelt thing and you will be THE C230 GOD! LOL Thanks man!
Same thing with my Volvo, I had to pay so much for repairs (little repairs here and there, but eventually it added up to thousands and thousands of dollars). You never think it will cost that much until you look back and say holy heck, how did that happen. 850 was a great handling vehicle, but like you said the issues are just too many, even more than Mercedes. I agree brakes would go so fast. But I still have good memories in that car, Driving at 110mph (177kmh) and the car was so stable
nice vid man, i didn't know how to change to rear deck ones. thanks and I just noticed there is a difference between the face-lifted model and the pre-lifted for the speaker covers , my rear door ones are smaller and a little different.
I git mine from a wrecking yard..some w202s had them from the factory...the rear speaker covers will say "Bose" on them if the car has them installed..not quite sure on hooking up the subwoofer..I have never done one in a Mercedes
I installed 6 1/2 in kicker coaxial speakers in my front door panels of my 1998 C230 and I'm going to break out my Dremel tool and see if I can modify the rear door speaker spacers to fit 5 1/4 in coaxials. I'll probably just remove my rear deck speakers completely and get a 12 in woofer for bass. I got the Kickers for a decent price and they sound great. I'm not looking forward to modifying the rear door spacers though. Working with a Dremel tool can sometimes be a real bitch.
+Rocky Baroli Hey man, did the new front panel speakers make a really big difference? I'm looking to upgrade my system as well, I'm mostly looking for a little more punch in the bass to mid range. I've only upgraded the head unit so far, but it actually made a pretty big difference.
I ended up doing 1” dash tweeters, 6.5” front doors, 4.5 rear doors, 5.25” shelf, then 2 10” subwoofers in the trunk I ran two separate amps one was for all the cabin speakers and one for the 10s 2000w amp then for the cabin I believe it’ll max out 1000w don’t remember rms specs but it’s nice and loud helping me become more and more deaf everyday I think I want to put in a bunch of sound deadening but I’m too lazy to take everything apart again lol
no clue actually. to be honnest, i have zero knowledge on cars whatsoever. i just noticed that my speakers sux, so i wanted to take a look how to replace them.(i find your videos very helpfull!) but it will not be for soon, since i ran out of cash :). also, a friend tells me it uses the trunk as basschaimber(not sure if thats correct in english).
My sister has a mercedes c220 1996 and I want to change the door speakers because they have blown out and sound horrible and if I take it to the shop it will take to long I want to do it fast is it the same process
I have a 98' C280 with the premium bose system. I wanted to replace the headunit and add a subwoofer and amp, would this work with the stock speakers or would I have to replace them too? Also so there's only a total of 6 speakers in the car? You know what are the sizes? Thanks
unfortunately for me, the grill trim was so brittle from being exposed to the sun for 18 years, they crumbled off. Does anyone have suggestions to fix this ?
Hey fupa, seen you've been busy with a bunch of new videos lately... anyway, any reason not to cut out inbetween the two rear deck speaker holes on each side and rig up some 6x9's? Already have an aftermarket headunit BTW.
hello, i have a mercedes w202 c220 cdi year:2000 I want to know if my car has subwoofers, i mean, what is the original sound system of my car? it has 6 speakers,2 in front doors,2 in back doors ,and 2 behind the back seats.(behind the head restraints, these two doesnt make too much volum, can they be the subwoofers? please answer me. :)
Hi, thanks for this video! But you can make one video which show the total removal of the lining of the rear panel ??? My W202 has that electric curtain, is a bit different from your W202
The covers of the back speakers in my car are totaly damaged. And i can not find them here in greece. The mersedes dealers donot have them in stock.not even used ones.
Hi, I've got a pair of 6x9s I tried to put in the back shelf but the stock speakers seem to have a funny connection do you have any idea what I should do to replace them. Rgds Derick.
the head restraints are a real pain to remove...the rear seats. inner panels and deck cover need to come off . I'll see what I can do to film the process
I took off the lid , but I do not know how they go , not where the internet does not show how to do it , even if there will not explain how , though I hope you will help me in this
you may get lucky,,you may not have to remove anything..just the head restraints...workshop-manuals.com/mercedesbenz/c_230_(202.023)/l4-2.3l_(111.974)/body_and_frame/seats/head_rest/component_information/service_and_repair/ar91.16-p-1770e_remove/install_rear_head_restraints/
You didn't do anything! These speakers are not a straight-forward change because the mount only fits the OEM speaker. When you remove the mount, you have a large whole and will have to build a speaker support if your speaker doesn't come with a mount. The back window speakers are junk just don't hook them up. The guy who did this video did not attempt to change the speakers. He just wanted to post himself in a useless video.
I used to have a Volvo 850 (it was a fantastic handling car) as a matter of fact, I think the 850 was a competitor of the W202 C-Class Mercedes and the E36 BMW 3-series. The only reason why I don't go with European cars anymore is because the Volvo drained my wallet :-D with repairs. Euro cars are so expensive to fix when they have a problem. Other than that, my Camry doesn't have anywhere near the handling of my 850.
Hey complety of topic, but my trunk opening button doesn't work all of a sudden . It's still making the vacuum noise but not opening the trunk from inside, any ideas of what it could be? Cheers🍻
you will have to open the trunk and have a peek at the mechanism..almost anything could be stuck or loose...here's a good pic of the mechanism..post #18 forums.mercedesclub.org.uk/showthread.php?t=103090&page=2

Wouldn't even consider buying a car that doesn't have stability at +170 km/h #GuessWhereILive
whats the speaker sizes? front doors ,rear doors, and shelf
Good vid, had a nightmare changing the speakers on mine, so i only have one in now! lol
What size speakers fit in the car? From front door, rear doors and parcel shelf? Thanks a lot.
nice vid man, i didn't know how to change to rear deck ones. thanks
and I just noticed there is a difference between the face-lifted model and the pre-lifted for the speaker covers , my rear door ones are smaller and a little different.
Thanks so much for this, dude!
Where do we get bose spekers ??? How to hock up subwofers in the front rc to the back pover cabel ..
I git mine from a wrecking yard..some w202s had them from the factory...the rear speaker covers will say "Bose" on them if the car has them installed..not quite sure on hooking up the subwoofer..I have never done one in a Mercedes
Hi, is your w202 originally non Bose and all you did was purchase the oem nice speakers?
For old BOSE speakers, how did they sound? Still

where did you get the factory bose speakers? also why didn't you just buy a new modern system i heard the bose isn't that great.
Are you planning to add the BOSE amp?
My sister has a mercedes c220 1996 and I want to change the door speakers because they have blown out and sound horrible and if I take it to the shop it will take to long I want to do it fast is it the same process
My three rear shelf speakers seem original. Non-bose. They are pointing down? Into trunk? Is this normal?
Still clear? Powerful bass?

Is this the same as the c250?
that’s what i’m wondering. did you ever fix it?
Hey fupa, seen you've been busy with a bunch of new videos lately... anyway, any reason not to cut out inbetween the two rear deck speaker holes on each side and rig up some 6x9's? Already have an aftermarket headunit BTW.
nope..no reason not to if you can fit them in

ok. Fupabox, thanks. But now, you have another Benz?
Linkcel I have a w208 clk 320...and an r129 500sl
with mine they stick upsidedown also, sure this isnt standard?
I picked up a pair of Bose rear deck speakers for my car but as you said, the connectors don't match. How should I go about fixing that?
use crimp on spade connectors on the wire side and they will just push into the Bose connector if I remember correctly
The covers of the back speakers in my car are totaly damaged. And i can not find them here in greece. The mersedes dealers donot have them in stock.not even used ones.
That it is very nice . But i would like to remove the whole back board .
Hi, I've got a pair of 6x9s I tried to put in the back shelf but the stock speakers seem to have a funny connection do you have any idea what I should do to replace them.
Rgds Derick.
+derick slatford cut the stock connectors off and use crimp on spade connectors
