Hi Team APS. I really want to record live duel's with my girlfriend after watching you guys for so long but I really don't know my way around a camera. Have you guys, or will you if you already haven't, ever go over the the step by step process's of recording these live duel videos?
Alec attacking with Dark Magician the turn it is summoned by Soul Exchange is proof that no matter how old we get or how long we play, we will never read our cards.
It baffles me how common this is. I started playing master duel and am playing with modern yugioh cards for the first time ever and while I don't love it, I do love the Weather archetype and so I made a deck for it. But the amount of times that mfers will attack into my monsters with thundery canvas out or try to wipe my back row with aurora for protection baffles me. Hell, people will still try to activate monster effects while I have skill drain out on the field.
Hey You forgot one thing 🤦♂️ how can you all forget that important thing in a duel, Alec was playing Yugi' s deck ,Yami Yugi's deck and for that he had the right to "Screw the Rules",🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
11:53 Reverse Trap does not work for any multiplication or division changes to stats (this includes any halving or doubling). Karate Man “doubles the original attack” of itself. This means Alec should’ve taken 2000 here. 20:54 Dark Magician cannot attack here. Soul Exchange does not permit you to conduct your battle phase the turn you activate it. FUN FACT: For some reason, Soul Exchange being resolved wrong is one of the most common errors that Yugitubers do among old cards. It’s happened numerous times with other channels as well such as Cimo and MBT. This extra 2500 damage Paul shouldn’t have taken would have given him an extra turn, but it’s hard to say if that extra turn would have ultimately mattered.
If they were gonna roleplay it Alec should also be able to sub out with another player anytime he wants but who ever isn't playing as Yugi at the time has to stay in the other room. Man now I want to see a game where they just use millennium item gimmicks to duel. I'm not sure if you could really play a game like that but it would be interesting.
@@donovanfaust3227 The only ones I think would work would be the Eye and Puzzle. So you've got one guy who searches his deck every turn instead of drawing, and one guy who always knows what that first guy's hand and face-downs are.
I know the game wasn't exactly as "developed" back then as it was now, but I can't imagine what the thought process behind the stats/summon requirements of Flame Swordsman was other than "Fusion Summoning is cool."
I mean seeing as the game is based off of an anime, which was supposed to be cool to kids so they buy the cards, I would say yes that was the only thought process.
Could also be that special summons were not as common and perceived as very strong, maybe? "It's weak, but it's a free summon, that's gotta be strong!" or something
The issue with Flame Swordsman in particular is that it wasn't a fusion monster in the Anime. For whatever reason, Konami just decided to make it one in the TCG.
9:15 The highlight of this game. 😂 " He has 1800ATK points, I used 3 card to make him and I'm happy" Fun fact: Flame Swordsman's sword has a name, it is in fact "Salamandra" A spell-equip card.
@@alchemist824 they were overlaying with the original cards just for the nostalgia of dueling them. Wasn’t really giving any advantages if that’s what you’re wondering. :)
"Target 1 monster your opponent controls; this turn, if you Tribute a monster, you must Tribute that target, as if you controlled it. You cannot conduct your Battle Phase the turn you activate this card." So you are correct in soul exchange
@@douglassantana7653 The very first Soul Exchange, back when it was still called Magic cards stated "Select an opponent's monster and use it as a Tribute in place of your own. You must skip your Battle Phase for the turn in which this card is activated." So even with the OG version you couldn't conduct your battle phase.
As soon as I saw this video pop up, "No Matter What" popped straight into my head No matter what Let the game begin No matter what May the best man win No matter what We're in this together No matter what We'll be friends forever! No matter what
I loved this duel! Game two was probably my favorite with the slow build up leading up to Atems explosive play with ultimate offering. Can you do Jaden vs Nightshroud rematch next? (Jaden starter deck vs Dragons Roar)
Love the vids. I've seen others suggest a house tournament of these nostalgic decks and I still want that too, but I would also like to suggest a house draft tournament from the cards in these decks. With everything being a one of and stronger cards clumped into the newer decks, this would balance it a lot and still give us good old big boy beatdown duels with classic cards.
I only ever played OG Yu-Gi-Oh with cards like these & this is legitimately the first time I've seen someone fusion summon the The Flame Swordsman! Lol 🤣🤣🤣
I think that, since Karate Man's effect states that it's attack doubles, the trap thingy would then change the effect to have it's attack halved instead.
these duels are always very cool and fun to watch, a lot of nostalgia,i have Kaiba and Joey's starter deck,i want to see what Joey vs Pegasus will be like
I love old school yugioh. I love the Joey deck it's very fun to watch and I want to play it so bad. Love the duel So much more interaction with this game. Then I see in mondern days
The Slifer/Ra video auto played after this one for me and between that duel and this one Alec has lost a lot of weight and looks fantastic! Keep it up!
Karate man is "doubling" its ATK stat , so the Reverse trap could not effect it, as it reverses additions and substractions, but not divisons and multiplications (include halving and doubling) :D
You could only attack if the monster is in attack mode or flip it from defense mode to attack them both monsters can attack then that ends your turn. But of course you can only summon one monster at a time unless you have reborn or change of heart cards.
Trying to create a draft cube /battle box mostly for nostalgia and fair-dueling purposes. Question: How would you tweak the rules for fusions and ritual monsters? Context: in a limited format it would be really cool to see fusions and ritual monsters, however they are so painstaking to get out, especially if you only have one fusion material in your deck. My thought would be to treat both ritual and fusion almost like a ritual monster where you tribute and/or discard monster levels equal to what you are summoning (but without the ritual spell/polymerization) Thoughts?
I think it would be really cool, updating these decks and then playing with them updated. Also, as someone coming from the yugioh anime and haven’t seen why old decks are no longer used, it would be cool for you guys to create like a building deck guide. What used to be accepted, like using traps but now it’s not. I think it would make for some insightful commentary, full of nostgalia and help bring people who don’t play anymore up to speed. What do you think?
I'd love to see Axel Brodie (Volcanic) vs Mako Tsunami (WATER/Legendary Ocean). Really, just Volcanic against a WATER themed deck, couldn't remember anyone besides good old Mako, and iirc you have those cards for sure.
I am just now building my first ever yugioh deck in the modern card game. I played when yugioh came out that was it. Eldlich golden lord zombie World. Hopefully I can make y’all proud as I learn this complex game

Reverse Trap doesn't affect Karate Man. Karate Man's effect states he can DOUBLE the attack. Meaning its a multiplication effect. Reverse trap states "Multiplication/Division effects are unaffected"
okay so reverse trap doesnt affect when atk is multiplied, or doubled. only actual addition and subtraction. also, karateman shouldnt have been destroyed because it's effect was reversed. one can argue that since the original effect didnt go off, that the card technically shouldnt have left the field?
